@@chrisp2067 90 horizontal is normally ok for most, that is what I would recommend. I did have recorded footage to put in to recommend this in the video but it would have been too long. It makes a big difference

I recently picked up a PS4 and BFV and have been toying around with different settings for a while now and nothing was working for me, changing to these settings instantly saw so much improvement in aiming, recoil control and movement as well. Did you copy my exact settings or used the info i showed to adjust your own? One thing I did not show in the video is if you have USA OFF, turn on aim smooth transition. That setting is for those that have USA OFF
@@SMKGAMING Hey ! Since I'm pretty new to playing FPS games with a controller I copied all of settings except the Soldier sensitivity which I adjusted at 90% and ADS sensitivity at 160%. I turned off USA and I think that made a huge difference, with USA turned on my with 40% sensitivity I was struggling to follow moving targets and recoil control was a nightmare. After turning it off, I can see a significant improvement in recoil control, following moving targets and the movement feels really smooth. Many thanks to you !

Legend i was above avg xbox and now I'm top 5 leader board but still chasing the legend of smk gaming thanks allot I'm sure this will help allot of people
I'm using 104 fov, 50% sensitivity 150% zoom sens. I changed the 6x to be 150% as well. All of the zoom sensitivities I bumped to 200. This is the only way I can control my aim comfortably. Fov ads off. USA off. Your content is to the point, concise, and have helped me immensely. Tryin to join up with you to play together on one of your servers. See you on the battlefield bro ✌️🤙
Those are particularly unusual settings but everyone thought mine was before I made this video. When im on streaming just ask for the server number, I always give it out. Or if you wish join my platoon and you then know when I'm on even when not streaming. Either way you can join if there is space dude ;-)
It's great that Battlefield has so many option settings, but for those that aren't used to it, it can be very daunting at first. I have another video out this week for my top 5 settings to better see enemies.

Upon hearing the latest update, thought to try BF5 again after 7 months. Only I couldn't find the right settings. Until I came across your explanation. FOV and Higher settings were the bomb. Sensitivity has always been high and field of view has been increased recently. Never associated it with my recoil control before now but it makes sense. Thanks SMK, another great video.

Great video, finally someone explains it properly with a video. I tried to tell people that but they just don't believe it. One dude said that 99% UA-camrs are using anti recoil mods cos he got a 3+ kd but never such a low recoil. I guess I'm allowed to recommend your videos to the next nonbelievers. Ps. With soldier aim ratio you can adjust the sensitivity of vertical aim, actually the ratio of vertical to horizontal aim. It can help especially if you're not able to play with higher sensitivity.
Hey dalmater, yeah that's why I mentioned the soldier aim ratio for the reasons you say. Anti recoil mods are very easy to spot when watching someone. Most just use similar settings to me

SMK GAMING honestly there isnt that much of a difference of seeing people. Maybe target acquisition can be a little harder but overall with decent aim im able to navigate the battlefield more efficiently. Ive watched your other videos too, and when i can anticipate other people it makes the whole process easier. Thanks for all your help. Subbed!
Amazing video, been trying it out and having some success but hard controlling such high sens for me. Also did you use ads fov on when sniping too? Im conflicted between the two.
Hey there, remember I also adjust each zoom magnification individually also. I personally keep ads fov on at all times. I know many turn it off when sniping for that extra zoom, I like that it doesn't in as much
@@SMKGAMING hey, i play on a 45% soldier aim sens and 200 for zoom with my 6x at only 40% and 75% aim assist. Turned off usa like you said and its made everything so much better and i think my sense is quite low because of cod not too sure since everyone else has their sens upwards from what ive seen, but yeah i got like 6 shots/6 headshots rapidly so the settings helped a lot
Let me know how it goes Jordan. Remember I am not suggesting my settings, try and increase FOV first and try that, then maybe up your sensitivity a bit and try that

@@SMKGAMING played last night with the changes. I made a few tweaks of my own. I definitely like the ads change and the 200 percent sensitivity when aiming. I did however keep some of my settings. I personally run the soldier sensitivity to 70 with my Max input threshold on my joysticks at 70 and a Max field of view. I find I can do a bit more quick twitch killing that way. My deadzone on my joysticks are both at 5 as well. I primarily run medic using the emp

By far the best video on the subject. There's a lot of videos that recommend this setting change or that but with little or no details about why. Including these is super helpful. Basically I've been using my settings all wrong. I use 74% FOV, 30% aim sensitivity and everything else default. I still play decently well most of the time and occasionally have great rounds but I keel feeling like I'm outmatched the majority of the time in gunfights with players that are otherwise at my skill level. Really looking forward to trying these out for a while to see if they bring me up to speed. Much thanks for all the time and effort you put into this video!

Did you turn off USA? Also use the information to adjust your current settings. Begin with putting up your FOV and turning on ADS FOV. I would not go straight to my settings
@@SMKGAMING yes I did all that. It did end up helping just not as high of a sensitivity. That's cool though and kinda odd that the fov makes recoil more controllable but it does.
@@Evanx373 yeah I wouldn't use my sensitivity straight away. But I'm happy you found some middle ground. A lot of games are like this with the FOV. The recoil is set for the default fov so increasing it makes it less apparent. If you play other shooters do the same ;-) if you need any further help Evan feel free to ask
90 fov. 100 stick sensitivity. 100 ads sensitivity. I don't really find recoil a problem except with the really fast firing guns but I'll deffo give your set-up a try and let you know if it was any better. Cheers for this.
I just transferred my BF1 setup over and tweaked a bit. Like you said most people don't realise how much the default settings effect your gameplay and not for the best. Keep up the awesome content brother. 👍😎
Absolute legend. Long how iv wondered how some players manage to play on such high sensitivity, but these settings have helped massively, the difference in control is unreal.

I like to be as in depth as I can be whilst also including plenty of visual stuff so those watching can fully understand. The talking bit is the easy part, many can talk about it, but I feel many creators fail to show things as that requires more effort. nice video SMK. I knew most of the information but still enjoy your content and watch them. I'm a CQC agressive medic with tommy gun and my stick sensitivity is 100 matched with 100 ADS and uniform on so my muscle memory doesn't get confused by two different senses and 90 FOV. I even drop pepole firing the tommy from mid range in full auto and some people are starting to suspect me. I just can't stand lower sensitivity as I'm constantly engaging multiple targets and I have to have fast reflexes. I have multiple 1v3 spray transfer videos where I'm targeting from right to left and then to right in only a matter of seconds. but I can see why u would play with uniform off. u play with the sturmgewehr and 3x zoom and your engagements are different. anyone accusing u of using external devices is just a noob. keep it up!
Thanks for the comment buddy, yes in bf1 most of the weapons I used were iron sights so my sense was the same for all of them. But in this game whatever I set was either to slow for x1 sights in cqc, but ok for x3 and x6, Or is was ok for x1, but too fast for the others. So i had no choice but to turn off USA and adjust them individually. It wont suit most, but copying my settings is the goal, I want people to be able to tweak their own from the information I provided.

@SMK GAMING Hello sir, Despite being a PC gamer myself and I think I am a decent player but I've watched this video in regards to FOV and ADS FOV which helped me a ton recoil seemed less for some strange reason and also looked at your 'Sniping Secret' video to which seemed to work fantastic even on the PC. Earned a sub with this good content too. Keep it up and would be nice to see any more tips/ tricks you've got that you know of that I might put onto the PC. :)

I feel like you should have mentioned that increase gradually over time and lower the magnification to reduce recoil. Going for lower rate if fire guns if recoil is too hard to control.
Yeah all very good points, it's been a whilr since I did this video but I thought I did mention a gun with X1 iron sight would appear to have less recoil compared to the same weapon with a X3 scope. It could well have been another video though. It's all about balance really, if you want to reduce recoil as much as possible with say a 120 fov, then a drawback of that is you cant see players that well. You end up having to go with a X3 scope (that's me lol). So you still end up with recoil. I think a 90 fov and X1 or x1.25 sight is good for most, I know I didn't say anything like this which I wish I did. Some tried to go right with what I have, I kind of wanted to teach players how things worked so they could decide for themselves. But on reflection I should have also provided starting recommendations. Thanks for watching Redoxico :-)

I think Battlefield 2042 is going to be a really really good game, BF can take a while to get used to compared to COD. Simply increasing your FOV and turning on ADS FOV alone should reduce recoil, thats a good starting point. Thanks for watching Papi

Fov Horizontal is 90 and got a good tip of Maxiq, he's always changing his fov to on when sniping and off for everything else. I asked why he said the recoil on scoped assault rifle's and smg's is less. I went nahhh, tried it with the stg 6x with fov on and couldn't hit a thing..turned it off and boom I can aim!
I just keep it off constantly, I know max likes the extra zoom with the x6 scope with fov on when sniping, and then the no zoom with other sights when its off. I like it off all the time
Great video man, getting more headshots with STG lately after changing my settings. I've always played with high sense (170) so i guess turning off USA and turning up FOV is what's helping my aim to become more snappy. Thanks and keep up the good work!.
SMK Just came across this video, (i am older then sand) and just started playing first person shooters. This video is extremely well done. I plan on trying these settings. Read through the comments. So when i take of the USA off, do i have to adjust something else in order to use the different scopes? I am fairly sure I lowered the sensitivity to 50 when I first got the game. (needless to say I am terrible at the game) and that is it. At my age should i just start by shutting that USA off. You got any recommendations for old timers Thanks again, video was fantastic
when you turn off USA also turn on zoom smooth transition, that is for players with USA turned off. Then you can start messing around with each scope magnification to suit you. You can try and make them all feel the same sensitivity or different. Thanks for watching I hope this helps buddy
Just remember that I'm not recommending my exact setting. Use what I have shown to adjust you own. But certainly try increasing your FOV and turning on ADS FOV. Makes such a big difference. Good luck nailler
@@lexingtonlad5745 like for like BFV sensitivity seems to be 10 higher compared to BF1. So say you played with a soldier stick sensitivity 90 on bf1. 80 on BFV should feel similar. But remember that in bf1 iron sights were x1, in bfv they are x1.5 so that will feel different even at 80 due to the difference in magnification. I had such a struggle myself
Great advice 👍. Spent a while on the test range tweaking my settings. Tried copying yours but coming from 40 sensitivity, was way too fast. Settled on 70 with 100 ads.
@@treagust1974 I admit that I can sometimes struggle in firestorm with seeing enemies because engagements can be further out. 90 is what I recommend for most people

Congrats and well deserved on all these positive feedbacks! Have started implementing USAchanges, sensitivy incriments on 5-10%. Will take time to majorly change my game, but I'm usually medic with a SMG and iron sights. Can this affect the chamges to be less useful AS supposed to using rifles etc. with more zoom (usually)?
I'm not really sure what you mean, if you use mainly smgs with iron sights you will usually find that to be much more sensitive compared to an assault rifle with a x3 scope

just started out on PS5, played Battlefield only on pc so far and i am above average there. Controller aim is a whole other story, i played for 4 hours now and i am slowly crawling above 1.00 kd but man it is a hard switch. But somehow it is fun to start at the bottom and feel the skill increases. Can anyone assume how long it takes to feel natural on controller? 80% of one on one i strive too far to the right, then adjusting too far to the left... feeling realy stupid :) -And thank you SMK for this video
This might sound stupid to someone who doesn't play controller as much but try being gentle with your sticks A lot of the time, you're probably panicking or just pressing too hard on the sticks, making your inputs feel inconsistent to other times when you're more composed. Also anything the adds acceleration to your sensitivity is a bad thing imo I'd turn all of that to 0% or off completely. I still go into practice and test out my aim with quick flicks and tracking on objects. Try to just snap to targets in practice, like just hit the stick however it feels natural without actually trying to aim, from there get the sensitivity to where you're able to consistently be close of on target with those flicks The biggest part of aiming is muscle memory right? So it's good to start off with trying to resemble your already established muscle memory. I've played controller competitively for over 20 years, I still struggle tracking at times, the best thing is get a Sens that feels good or close and stick with it. It takes time with any sens to get it feeling comfortable.

Well I had to lower sensitivity to 80, because the 100% was mental 😂 but controlling the spread is a lot easier, thank you I can start enjoying the Pacific now 😊

Hi mate. The only thing what i dont understand is why you turn off uniform soldier. Why canyou leave it on with you sens at AS75% ADS150%? Then you dont have to cosumize all your magnification settings right? Good video btw Greetz from the Netherlands
USA is supposed to make all zoom sensitivities feel the same but I feel at a high sensitivity it does this poorly. For example with USA on I would play at 100 soldier stick and 125 ads zoom sensitivity. Now for x1 and x1.25 that feels good, but for x3 and x6 it's too fast. So say I lower it for those scopes. Now it's too slow for x1.25 and x1. With USA off I can have all the way I like them. Thanks for watching Niels :-)
I tried this with the uniform soldier aiming turned off and it seemed way too laggy to me for close range. I turned it back on and set the soldier aim sensitivity to about 65 and it seems just right. My game play has improved.
There is a setting called zoom aim smooth transition. Turning it on could help with that when you have USA off. It's not really lag but when you ads there in a slight delay between switching from your hip FOV to you ads FOV. With this on it smooths that transition instead of it going straight from an on/off type situation
So what is your current FOV and sensitivity settings, will you try and up them. Let me know below folks
My Fov is 85
My sensitivity is 95% with a FOV of 70. Can't up my FOV any higher, gives me a headache.

I'm using 104 fov, 50% sensitivity 150% zoom sens. I changed the 6x to be 150% as well. All of the zoom sensitivities I bumped to 200. This is the only way I can control my aim comfortably. Fov ads off. USA off. Your content is to the point, concise, and have helped me immensely. Tryin to join up with you to play together on one of your servers. See you on the battlefield bro ✌️🤙
Those are particularly unusual settings but everyone thought mine was before I made this video. When im on streaming just ask for the server number, I always give it out. Or if you wish join my platoon and you then know when I'm on even when not streaming. Either way you can join if there is space dude ;-)

Sensitivity has always been high and field of view has been increased recently. Never associated it with my recoil control before now but it makes sense. Thanks SMK, another great video.
Realistically it shouldn't work like that, visible recoil should be the same no matter the FOV, but in most games increasing it reduces it on screen.

Great video, finally someone explains it properly with a video. I tried to tell people that but they just don't believe it. One dude said that 99% UA-camrs are using anti recoil mods cos he got a 3+ kd but never such a low recoil.

Ps. With soldier aim ratio you can adjust the sensitivity of vertical aim, actually the ratio of vertical to horizontal aim. It can help especially if you're not able to play with higher sensitivity.
Hey dalmater, yeah that's why I mentioned the soldier aim ratio for the reasons you say. Anti recoil mods are very easy to spot when watching someone. Most just use similar settings to me

SMK GAMING honestly there isnt that much of a difference of seeing people. Maybe target acquisition can be a little harder but overall with decent aim im able to navigate the battlefield more efficiently. Amazing video, been trying it out and having some success but hard controlling such high sens for me. Also did you use ads fov on when sniping too? Im conflicted between the two.
Hey there, remember I also adjust each zoom magnification individually also. I personally keep ads fov on at all times. I know many turn it off when sniping for that extra zoom, I like that it doesn't in as much
@@SMKGAMING hey, i play on a 45% soldier aim sens and 200 for zoom with my 6x at only 40% and 75% aim assist. Turned off usa like you said and its made everything so much better and i think my sense is quite low because of cod not too sure since everyone else has their sens upwards from what ive seen, but yeah i got like 6 shots/6 headshots rapidly so the settings helped a lot

@@SMKGAMING played last night with the changes. I made a few tweaks of my own. I definitely like the ads change and the 200 percent sensitivity when aiming. I did however keep some of my settings. I personally run the soldier sensitivity to 70 with my Max input threshold on my joysticks at 70 and a Max field of view. I find I can do a bit more quick twitch killing that way. My deadzone on my joysticks are both at 5 as well. I primarily run medic using the emp

By far the best video on the subject. There's a lot of videos that recommend this setting change or that but with little or no details about why. Including these is super helpful. Basically I've been using my settings all wrong. I use 74% FOV, 30% aim sensitivity and everything else default. I still play decently well most of the time and occasionally have great rounds but I keel feeling like I'm outmatched the majority of the time in gunfights with players that are otherwise at my skill level. Really looking forward to trying these out for a while to see if they bring me up to speed. Much thanks for all the time and effort you put into this video!

I tried that and found it pretty in controllable, especially when trying to aim at people at any distance.
Did you turn off USA? Also use the information to adjust your current settings. Begin with putting up your FOV and turning on ADS FOV. I would not go straight to my settings
@@SMKGAMING yes I did all that. It did end up helping just not as high of a sensitivity. That's cool though and kinda odd that the fov makes recoil more controllable but it does.
@@Evanx373 yeah I wouldn't use my sensitivity straight away. But I'm happy you found some middle ground. A lot of games are like this with the FOV. The recoil is set for the default fov so increasing it makes it less apparent. If you play other shooters do the same ;-) if you need any further help Evan feel free to ask
90 fov. 100 stick sensitivity. 100 ads sensitivity. I don't really find recoil a problem except with the really fast firing guns but I'll deffo give your set-up a try and let you know if it was any better. Cheers for this.

I just transferred my BF1 setup over and tweaked a bit. Like you said most people don't realise how much the default settings effect your gameplay and not for the best. Keep up the awesome content brother. 👍😎

I like to be as in depth as I can be whilst also including plenty of visual stuff so those watching can fully understand. The talking bit is the easy part, many can talk about it, but I feel many creators fail to show things as that requires more effort. nice video SMK. I knew most of the information but still enjoy your content and watch them.
I'm a CQC agressive medic with tommy gun and my stick sensitivity is 100 matched with 100 ADS and uniform on so my muscle memory doesn't get confused by two different senses and 90 FOV. I even drop pepole firing the tommy from mid range in full auto and some people are starting to suspect me. I just can't stand lower sensitivity as I'm constantly engaging multiple targets and I have to have fast reflexes. I have multiple 1v3 spray transfer videos where I'm targeting from right to left and then to right in only a matter of seconds.
but I can see why u would play with uniform off. u play with the sturmgewehr and 3x zoom and your engagements are different. anyone accusing u of using external devices is just a noob. keep it up!
Thanks for the comment buddy, yes in bf1 most of the weapons I used were iron sights so my sense was the same for all of them. But in this game whatever I set was either to slow for x1 sights in cqc, but ok for x3 and x6, Or is was ok for x1, but too fast for the others. So i had no choice but to turn off USA and adjust them individually. It wont suit most, but copying my settings is the goal, I want people to be able to tweak their own from the information I provided.

@SMK GAMING Hello sir, Despite being a PC gamer myself and I think I am a decent player but I've watched this video in regards to FOV and ADS FOV which helped me a ton recoil seemed less for some strange reason and also looked at your 'Sniping Secret' video to which seemed to work fantastic even on the PC. Earned a sub with this good content too. Keep it up and would be nice to see any more tips/ tricks you've got that you know of that I might put onto the PC. :)

I feel like you should have mentioned that increase gradually over time and lower the magnification to reduce recoil. Going for lower rate if fire guns if recoil is too hard to control.
Yeah all very good points, it's been a whilr since I did this video but I thought I did mention a gun with X1 iron sight would appear to have less recoil compared to the same weapon with a X3 scope. It could well have been another video though.
It's all about balance really, if you want to reduce recoil as much as possible with say a 120 fov, then a drawback of that is you cant see players that well. You end up having to go with a X3 scope (that's me lol). So you still end up with recoil. I think a 90 fov and X1 or x1.25 sight is good for most, I know I didn't say anything like this which I wish I did. Some tried to go right with what I have, I kind of wanted to teach players how things worked so they could decide for themselves. But on reflection I should have also provided starting recommendations. Thanks for watching Redoxico :-)

I think Battlefield 2042 is going to be a really really good game, BF can take a while to get used to compared to COD. Simply increasing your FOV and turning on ADS FOV alone should reduce recoil, thats a good starting point. Thanks for watching Papi

Fov Horizontal is 90 and got a good tip of Maxiq, he's always changing his fov to on when sniping and off for everything else. I asked why he said the recoil on scoped assault rifle's and smg's is less. I went nahhh, tried it with the stg 6x with fov on and couldn't hit a thing..turned it off and boom I can aim!
I just keep it off constantly, I know max likes the extra zoom with the x6 scope with fov on when sniping, and then the no zoom with other sights when its off. I like it off all the time

SMK Just came across this video, (i am older then sand) and just started playing first person shooters. This video is extremely well done. I plan on trying these settings. Read through the comments. So when i take of the USA off, do i have to adjust something else in order to use the different scopes? I am fairly sure I lowered the sensitivity to 50 when I first got the game. (needless to say I am terrible at the game) and that is it. At my age should i just start by shutting that USA off. You got any recommendations for old timers Thanks again, video was fantastic
when you turn off USA also turn on zoom smooth transition, that is for players with USA turned off. Then you can start messing around with each scope magnification to suit you. You can try and make them all feel the same sensitivity or different. Thanks for watching I hope this helps buddy

I've been struggling to set up my sensitivity from day one. Too used to bf1.
@@lexingtonlad5745 like for like BFV sensitivity seems to be 10 higher compared to BF1. So say you played with a soldier stick sensitivity 90 on bf1. 80 on BFV should feel similar. But remember that in bf1 iron sights were x1, in bfv they are x1.5 so that will feel different even at 80 due to the difference in magnification. I had such a struggle myself
Great advice 👍. Spent a while on the test range tweaking my settings. Tried copying yours but coming from 40 sensitivity, was way too fast. Settled on 70 with 100 ads.

Yeah, 90 FOV and ADS FOV on. Finding it difficult to see enemies before getting taken out as my normal FOV is 74 with ADS FOV off.
@@treagust1974 I admit that I can sometimes struggle in firestorm with seeing enemies because engagements can be further out. 90 is what I recommend for most people

Have started implementing USAchanges, sensitivy incriments on 5-10%. Will take time to majorly change my game, but I'm usually medic with a SMG and iron sights. Can this affect the chamges to be less useful AS supposed to using rifles etc. with more zoom (usually)?
I'm not really sure what you mean, if you use mainly smgs with iron sights you will usually find that to be much more sensitive compared to an assault rifle with a x3 scope

just started out on PS5, played Battlefield only on pc so far and i am above average there. Controller aim is a whole other story, i played for 4 hours now and i am slowly crawling above 1.00 kd but man it is a hard switch. But somehow it is fun to start at the bottom and feel the skill increases. Can anyone assume how long it takes to feel natural on controller? 80% of one on one i strive too far to the right, then adjusting too far to the left... feeling realy stupid :) -And thank you SMK for this video
This might sound stupid to someone who doesn't play controller as much but try being gentle with your sticks
A lot of the time, you're probably panicking or just pressing too hard on the sticks, making your inputs feel inconsistent to other times when you're more composed.
Also anything the adds acceleration to your sensitivity is a bad thing imo
I'd turn all of that to 0% or off completely.
I still go into practice and test out my aim with quick flicks and tracking on objects. Try to just snap to targets in practice, like just hit the stick however it feels natural without actually trying to aim, from there get the sensitivity to where you're able to consistently be close of on target with those flicks
The biggest part of aiming is muscle memory right? So it's good to start off with trying to resemble your already established muscle memory.
I've played controller competitively for over 20 years, I still struggle tracking at times, the best thing is get a Sens that feels good or close and stick with it. It takes time with any sens to get it feeling comfortable.
And above all, just try to not get discouraged, it really effects your aim more than people realize, same with anger or being cocky.

I think ps5 will be oct/Nov 2020, that's the usual 7 year cycle. I like the back buttons on the nacon

Hi mate. The only thing what i dont understand is why you turn off uniform soldier. Why canyou leave it on with you sens at AS75% ADS150%? Then you dont have to cosumize all your magnification settings right? Good video btw

USA is supposed to make all zoom sensitivities feel the same but I feel at a high sensitivity it does this poorly. For example with USA on I would play at 100 soldier stick and 125 ads zoom sensitivity. Now for x1 and x1.25 that feels good, but for x3 and x6 it's too fast. So say I lower it for those scopes. Now it's too slow for x1.25 and x1. With USA off I can have all the way I like them. Thanks for watching Niels :-)

I tried this with the uniform soldier aiming turned off and it seemed way too laggy to me for close range. I turned it back on and set the soldier aim sensitivity to about 65 and it seems just right. My game play has improved.
There is a setting called zoom aim smooth transition. Turning it on could help with that when you have USA off. It's not really lag but when you ads there in a slight delay between switching from your hip FOV to you ads FOV. With this on it smooths that transition instead of it going straight from an on/off type situation
What is your mouse dpi set at?
