- This is the first/second time I've been on the street. I've had the bike for 2 weeks have only driven it one other time just to get the clutch down. (Weather hasn't been very friendly) P.S sorry if I'm talking a lot I do it to calm my nerves.
my guy just take the course, if you can afford a new bike you can afford the course

@@MsChrisep lolll, I am fully aware of the possible consequences. But, I would like to make a one time purchase only, not buy a beginner bike then upgrade. In my country people don't really buy bikes so if I bought a beginner bike and tried to sell it 80% isnt gonna be sold. Btw thank you for your concern.

Like others have said, keep the rpms higher. When you cause the engine to stutter, that causes excess wear and tear. You won’t harm the bike taking the engine to higher rpms - that’s what it was designed for.
Also, when you go into a corner, don’t disengage the clutch. The engine rpms create gyroscopic forces to keep you upright and help you get through corners and curves. Plus, disengaging the clutch every time you turn adds additional wear and turn on your clutch.

Seriously, do yourself a favor and pay the $350 and go take a local MSF course. They are bound to teach you something you don't know and tell you something you didn't know.

@@darellrobinson5340 I took my course at the Pig Trail Harley dealership in Rogers/AR. We had people from a little ways out but I can understand it not being easy to do. It is worth it though.

He’s in 6 th gear going 30 dude definitely needs to take the class
1st gear - 25/30mph
2nd 30-45
3rd 45-60
4th 60-75
5th 75-90
6th 80+
utilize your entire rpm range for each gear for better riding , it’s unnecessary use of the clutch to be 6th gear -40mph. think of it like it’s kind of dragging the bike along, that’s why it makes that odd whistling type noise.
That's the wind hitting my helmet It's a brand new bike and I was told that I shouldn't exceed a number of rpms per gear.
Yeah the manual says 4000rpm for the first 150 miles. Then from 150-250 miles 6000rpms. After 250 miles it says ride moderately.

you don’t need to redline the bike to switch gears, i ride an r3, i need to shift 11k rpm the latest but i usually do around 8/9k it’s genuinely just better riding and using the bikes potential. it’s pretty common to see people just switching gears to get up to 6th even though you’re not using 6th gear abilities yk ?

@@IjustWorkHere3 for it being factory brand new, of course you should take it light for the first 500 miles atleast, that’s sensible.
MSF is overrated and unnecessary. Practice low speed maneuvers in a parking lot. Then, when you are ready, take the DMV exam. If I had someone to guide me, I would not have wasted my time with the MSF.

Try keep the engine revs a bit higher, unlike cars these engines like it a bit harder
But for the first time it’s good that you kept calm and learning at ur own pace if ur self teaching, but then again doing any sort of rider courses would help a lot faster
@@minhokim70Yea plus if it’s a new bike you shouldn’t be in the high rpms at all for at least 10 hours of running time
if its a new bike you shouldnt rev passed like 4-5k until through the break in period on a 500

What is the point of gloves and bare arms? That’s like shoes for your toes but not your sole or heel. Pretty pathetic protection.
Hands are the first thing that hit the ground when reacting your arms will just scrape and lose their skin.
Sometimes it’s not about protection, it’s about less variables. Gloves = grip and no sweat on your levers/handles

Yes, providing a completed MSF course cert to your insurance people should lower your rates.
Insurance is $100 a month which I've heard is a little more expensive.

I did it backwards 😑 bought a brand new 2024 taught myself how to ride then drove it back to work every day for a month and half then too my MSF and pass ..
Take the course and be legit. If you get stopped, goodbye to riding season and hello fines and impound.

@@JordansLube I wish I could’ve gotten the Ninja 500 if they were cheaper but I’ve been riding like almost 3 months or so. I got a 2020 Ninja 400, and I love riding it
@@proudpole0001 Yeah I went for the 400 but they didn't have any so I settled which is always a bad idea but I'm happy I did I love the 500.
js take the course if u get pulled over ur fried
try to shift faster and get up to higher rpms before you shift, you were going way to slow to go into 3rd and 4th lol and use 2 fingers to pull the clutch, dont use all 4
That didn't take long.
Buy some gear, you'll wish you some if ever put the bike down....small investment in the big picture.
Mate let the clutch out slowly while braking what you are doing is coasting that is bad and will cause you to offside and get thrown off into traffic also try not to block shift through gears shift down and let the clutch out a little then shift down again and repeat another thing don't go into first gear unless you are coming to a stop and practice clutch control
