Are you all about the cornetto trilogy? Or do you prefer his trips stateside?
Both
Many of these sonic manipulations Wright stole from Raimi, & I'm sure he'd be the first admit it.
@@silverdropstudios7323 Both is good
¿Por qué no los dos?
@@timespace.productions7513 stole. It's just using similar sonic manipulation. They didn't belong to Raimi.
I will always feel excited when someone is doing an Edgar Wright Analysis
Same hahah
what if a pedophile did an edgar wright analysis, would you still feel excited?
@@JJJackson777 WTF man?
not even 9am & i've got under @@satanthesickcunt's skin, what a day
I wonder if Edgar Wright also storyboards his sounds.
no doubt!
He did in Baby Driver
This is all great stuff, but I'm amazed you didn't mention Spaced. His comedic use of cinematic action sound taken to the extreme for mundane things was tied to the way the show spoofed blockbuster movies. I expected Hot Fuzz to be entirely spoof, but it was so much more. It made me realise that Wright's so good at utilising those techniques that he achieves not only the comedic effect, but the original intended effect also, and more. Everything he does, I find wildly entertaining. Watching his films gives me the same kind of joy as watching Road Runner cartoons as a kid.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The world: Best and most underated comic adaptation of all time...
i think we can all agree that his best sound design is from Spaced when tyres starts raving out of ordinary everyday sounds.
Holy shit, yes!
this video gave me whiplash
but jesus christ i really love wright's timing and edit its so good
Thanks dear for watching my movies fee free to massage me on my Google Hangouts

One of the best videos discussing Edgar Wright's style. Learned a lot, thanks!
I'm still salty that he never got to direct his Ant Man movie. I wonder how different it would have been to the one that was actually released.
i think we should start a movement.
Ant Man #Wright Cut
He dodged a bullet. Can you emagine how depressing it would have been, for somebody so creative and unconventional, being bossed around by Disney and Marvel?
@@karlkarlos3545 I think Taika Waititi already taught them that lesson about how successful they can be if they let an unconventional genius work magic without interference
@@thezoid.withfreaky04 I don't think they are capable of learning. That's why Edgar Wright quit the cooperation in the first place.
And no disrespect to Taika Waititi, but Thor: Ragnarok could have been directed by everyone.
@@karlkarlos3545 I respectfully disagree. "anybody can direct thor" is exactly the mentality that made the previous thor movies mediocre. Taika changed the game for them with HIS approach.
Egdar Wright is a genius, sooo overlooked. Also, I love your videos - as intricate and special as Mr Wright's sfx!
Even if you watch his early tv show Spaced, which is brilliant as well, he uses sound a lot
Wonderful analysis, as usual. Thanks.
Also kind of fun rewatching Spaced episodes with Wright’s inventive use of sound in mind.
this was genuinely excellent to watch thank you.
I loved this video, TDI! I made something very similar for The Matrix. Sound is often the silent partner in our appreciation for the craft of a scene, glad to see you tackling it! xx

Thanks dear
Edgar wright is a king to me 😍
this was awesome.
I mean...it also takes skilled Sound Designers to make this happen as well...
I can see film students watching this in class
Bro you're speaking my language Edgar Wright.
un hermoso ensayo
Squeaky chairs are directors' best friends..😎👍
song at 7:48?? such nostaligia
Found it: Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400
Ahhh, the classics!
Fuck yeah great topic
I would have thought he would’ve mentioned all the reversed sounds used throughout the movies.
How tf did i end up here. I was suppose to do some research on something way different to film analysis
Inspiration or plagiarism from every frame of paintings edgar wright video.....
It just its own video of edgar wright movies?
I dont find this style of cinema to be any more entertaining, personally. I think much of these examples of sound effects are beyond complimentary. Some of these are excessive to the point it's goofy- which may or may not be what you're going for
