    As someone who was born and raised (and currently living) in Tulsa, it amazes me that there is such a conversation about Black Wall Street. The city and the state of Oklahoma has tried its hardest to not talk about it or claim it’s something in the past and we should move on, while simultaneously commemorating the okc bombing, which is a absolute slap in the face to Black people in Oklahoma. Just want to tell you guys that there are still Black people in Tulsa and we are still suffering from the impact of the massacre almost 100 years later💁🏾

      Narcissism Exposed 101 as far as I know they haven’t. I believe back in the early 2000s there was some talk about reparations but it never went anywhere. Just recently, some relatives of survivors filed a lawsuit hoping to finally get some type of reparations. Other than that, the area of the city that was Black Street is slowly being gentrified. There are several black businesses in the area, but not nearly as much as it used to be.

That said, I wake up everyday with a mission of fighting this stupidity whenever it pops up. You can call it my ptsd. My friends know better now, after George Floyd. I'm educating them of what "whiteness" means and how race is an invented concept (colorism and featurism is idiotic). It's amazing they've come to agree, can stay. 31:00 Unhidden public policy. Segregation by law and public policy. ** It's media, media, media and consumerism. I just listened to a child of an immigrant who moved to the US and she said at first her parents was for black people. But she said as time progress went on her parents started to say black people need to work hard because media is saying this media is saying that. The daughter also said her parents does not have any black friends so this shows you that media plays a huge part for ignorance. This is a cycle.media..the lack of exposure of our excellence increase ignorance

      we are still being traumatized this very day every time a black person on our black person is killed by the police or most recently that monster Daniel Penny, who killed Jordan Neely, it’s traumatic for us, particularly when those killers are protected, and in the case of Daniel Penny celebrated. The whole “master and slave” oven was a real eye opener! We have ovens like this in my kitchen and I never knew this was the description! I can only imagine the conversation this description would bring in white setting. Those American 🇺🇸 appliance companies knew what they were doing! Frigidaire….🙄
    I can only imagine what the white lady electrician’s response was like with white home owners.
    For me, integration has been a mixed bag. I lived in a predominantly white neighborhood as a kid and I remember the neighbors always wanting to know what my dad (he’s a retired engineer) did for a living to afford the new boat, and the new cars we had! My father went to work wearing a suit and tie each day, which made them wonder even more. I had neighbors asking me questions about my father every time I played with their kids. After telling my parents, they told me to say my dad just goes to work like everyone else! 😂

    Bermuda as you know is the majority-black island and very very segregated. Haven grown-up military but after dad was killed in Vietnam my mom chose to bring four children ages 16-7 years of age to Greenboro NC where my dad had bought our home. So, attending A&T State University was the best most important step after how we had been raised around the world. Each summer we would return to the island with my mom's parents there were 13 grandchildren in the same house, on a BLACK Island. It was a beautiful balancing act when we were NOT on island.

    I think it should be more clearly explained that one of the primary results of segregation is it made it easier to target black people with destructive policy/practices. In the book Color of Law the author talks about how once you sectioned black people off into specific areas it opened the door for other racist policies. You can have unequal funding for schools because of separate school districts, black areas were zoned industrial so you have factories in close proximity exposing them to more pollution and a myriad of other issues.
    The analogy of "The white man's ice is colder" is too harsh on blacks when you have this situation. When as a group you are stuck with all this failure then yes their "ice is colder" because they have all the resources and policies to make it so, not because we as a people are inherently inferior or feel we are.

    • @TashaRial
      @TashaRial 16 днів тому

      they will always try to target never trying to interfere and sabotage whatever we have going on, but we have to be smarter than that. There was also power and numbers we need to start making more connections with Black people in the diaspora and above all else Black people in Africa. Africa has the resources that every other country depends on. We need in a word leverage. We have none here in America. We have to start collaborating with African countries join a African organization try to gain citizenship in one of the countries that makes it possible for African-Americans.
      This may sound unattainable, but a mini African countries are encouraging African-Americans to apply for full citizenship to start businesses there we need a much larger coalition
      Based on the Black people who’ve been shot dead by their white neighbors recently living amongst them is not a good option

    Really enjoyed watching this video, particularly the Dr's observation of her pride in the kindness of her children. I agree. What we are presented with in America about what gives or adds to a person's value is contingent upon achieving what descendents of Europe have convinced us is required to establish our existence as valid, worthy even, and that's is not true. Even though the "American Dream" gives many children fodder for how they should live, it is limiting belief. Amplifying the effort and reward that comes from kindness is a truly defining trait. It's so irritating that we so often take extra time in our discussions to assure non black people that we believe in all humanities and there was only one race and there's no real differences between people. Tell that to the ones crushing and killing us. Whether it's cultural, historical, or mere "superficial" difference in features, hair, skin tone, non atrophied pineal gland, physique...you get the picture? Example if It wasn't important that the figure of Jesus was black or white, there wouldn't be such a monstrous worldwide centuries long effort to make sure he's portrayed otherwise. If there isn't significance difference between the so called races then why are black people continually persecuted for it, and why are WE the ones always apologizing for it ?
