I feel another rule should be "have patience and try to help out begginers" if you get some kid/teen/adult scared to go down a slight slope take 5 - 10 mins and run it through with them. Heck hold their hands while they do their first few attempts. Before you know you got a new buddy to skate with.

Because people started making fun of people for it in a time where making fun of people for literally nothing was considered normal and okay. Now people are encouraged to be a bit more civilized but the trend still persists even if they themselves don't know why they care.

I was called a mall grabber when I was 14 and didn't know what it meant. But I knew...it was an insult. So I left the park. I'm 23 now and as of 2 weeks ago I discovered this channel. Last week I pieced together my old board and took it for a spin for the first time since that day at Jaws skate park. (9 years later...)
I'm a new skater and I went to the skatepark like 2 years ago and this guy, looks about 14 ( I was 10 at the time), The guy and his friends told me "girls can't skate, and you should just give up and stop skating." it was really hurtful, I decided to quit after that. I recently found my skateboard in my garage and started learning how to skate again.

Broooo, not being dramatic or anything but with each break my heart broke and with with each scratch, pressure and these painful, breaking sounds my heart was sliced and tortured. It may sound weird but I really do care and feel so much for skateboards, much more than I do to myself. You know that feeling when you get a brand new smartphone and that you love a lot and now you're anxious for slightest touch, that's how I feel every time I see any skateboard being exposed to break, pressure and pain :/ Like, be gentle man! Skateboards are part of the heart and soul, not just some.. Toy or tool..

What’s wrong with beginners for real I would be brand spanking new at a skate park and no on comeplained I think you might need to start training at home or go to a different skate park or set up your own at home ppl can be mean sometimes don’t let them drag you down but keep going and don’t give up
I wanna say something about this rollerblade one and how you didnt mention bikes at the skatepark. Bikes take up so much more space than actual rollerblades since they're literally on your feet, especially at a small skatepark, even despite that I still think bikes, rollerblades or even hoverboards would be allowed there, as long as you know to take turns and not get in the way of people you're fine.

Didn't they also detach the wheels and "trucks" of skates and attach them to the board: skate + board? Seems like the rollerblade hate may be unwarranted since they owe it to original skates.

I went to a skateboard a week ago and there were so many people. I kept accidently getting in peoples ways and kept apologizing. Eventually, I got to a point where I was on the brink of tears and was not having fun. As a beginner, there were a few people upstaging me and not helping so i'm kind of put off skateparks until I get better.
On another note, there were some incredible roller-skaters there.
Edit - 30/10/21: I've been learning for a while with a friend and got to know a bunch of people, skate parks are no longer that scary to me. It just takes time so keep practicing!
Ya as a 31 man who's about to get his first board I don't plan to go to a park anytime soon to avoid embarrassing myself

I feel ya. I found a skatepark in my area a while back and I'm jus getting back into skating after 5 years so it took a lot to get myself out there around 30 people (no joke) feeling like I was in the way of everyone..then you see those guys are all falling too & tryna land tricks, most of them were not watching me like a felt everyone was haha...it's been so sick to have something I love to go do again, so don't give up & miss out on skating. Try jus rolling around the park till ur comfortable & notice the obstacles they're lined up at so u don't get in the way. (Unfortunately broke my foot there a day ago so won't be back for awhile ☹️)

Rollerblades ARE allowed at the skatepark. Many forget that aggressive inline skating was in the X Games and MASSIVE at one point. Where do you expect us to train?

Fr? I started skating yesterday and today i went to a skatepark from 5pm to 9pm. There was all guys there and all of them told me tips and tricks on skating. I know how to olly, powerslide, kickflip and go on ramps now. I got the olly midway down. I don't have the kickflip down though but i can go on ramps and it's only the second day. It's all thanks to the guys at the skatepark teaching me

I think the rollerblading one isn’t necessarily a never do. If youre aggressive skating you should be at a skate park, but if youre just gonna skate on flat ground, go to a sidewalk.
