in the n64 version the devs forgot to make it so that there is a limit to marios backwards speed, resulting in the creation of the blj. ds fixed this by giving both fowards speed and backwards speed their own limits so players dont glitch the game with backwards speed
@@nasrshbool Looking to clip through that door, as mario you can used the bunny that appear near that place, if the bunny does not appear you need to talk to toad that is in the back of the room of the character unlock room, he his right near the island painting, and to clip pass the endless stair, the Giant stairs before it lead to the door you can slide kick in the wall corner of does giant stairs go throught the wall and if done correctly you will be send flying really high in the air, but you have to memorize the entrance to finial Bowser, since you will not be able to see anything, also it is the only way to fight finial Bowser as other character other then mario, however if you beat finial bowser and your not mario, the character that is not mario will die in the credit because mario accidently push the other character. To understand better what I'm saying you can look at video about this.

Only certain ones allow you to do the BLJ. The American, PAL and V1 Japanese allow you but the Shenzou version removed the BLJ as did the DS version of Mario 64. The 3D All Stars version on the Switch is the Shenzou version as well whereas the Online versions are not, so you can do the BLJ no problem
