"Losses like these are just a wake up to the beauty of the ephemeral. A reminder that just because something's time has past, doesn't mean it wasn't beautiful and worth experiencing". Beautifully said. Thank you for this.
Thank you Cody for placing me in this side of photography. 3 or 4 years ago my dad would push me to try film and id mock his words and make fun of him for using such outdated technology but look at me now. Using more rolls than him and taking his cameras. Love your work!
Damnnnn that was so incredibly overdramatic. I cried in the end even though I know that the film is alive again😂😂🥲 He should be a Filmregisseur for dramatic movies💪👍🏼
One of the things I loved about Pro 400H is how it handled scenes at night. It really seemed to lean into those cool tones, and in certain instances I thought it somewhat resembled the look produced by a tungsten balanced film. I’ve still got a few rolls of 120 left, but I’ll definitely miss this stock once it’s gone.
Just found your channel by a stroke of luck, and let me applaud you on how beautifully you tell a story with your videos. They are so so so well done! Thank you for creating something different than what the rest of film UA-cam has to offer :)
Beautiful video man! I show my last couple rolls of Pro 400H during a trip through Nevada, Arizona and California. I was super happy with the results and super sad that this was the end of the line for my work on this film stock
Favourite channel on UA-cam! Always a good day when you drop a new video - they are so inspiring, not just because of the stunning images but also your approach to photography which is so cool and refreshing. Also great to see Kondalilla Falls in another vid!
Your channel emdoies all of my favorite aspects of all the other popular film photo channels on youtube into something thoughtful and beautiful. Even when the videos are more informative or reflective, the video itself is an art peice. Keep going.
Definitely miss this stock in 35mm. Loved this for cooler weather outdoor/nature photography. Fuji Superia 400 overexposed a stop gets you close to this but definitely lacks details in the shadows that 400H would capture.
I’m relatively new to film photography and photography in general but really loving all the content on your channel. Please keep doing what you’re doing!! 🤙🏻
Getting into film photography, just found your channel, really loving your style and video quality. By the looks of it, you really enjoy and put a lot of effort on making this videos, time will grant you with lots and lots of more followers and fan base (even more by the way) I can really tell, at least you got mine budd, keep it up!
Really loved this Cody. I never personally shot any Pro 400H, and often wish I had come into film photography just a little bit sooner to really shoot a lot of it. This was really enjoyable though, and you made some awesome images. I look forward to the next episode of the Film Fridge!
thanks for the history of the film of photo, I all ways had an interest in the photo film so much, that I took a class in this subject in high school, hope that when we cross paths Cody you and I can have a nice talk about it, any way my friend till next time "live free or die trying" your friend from Ontario, Canada ;)
Kodak Vision3 200T (5213) is the closest film to Pro 400H in terms of spectra sensitivity. If developed in its native ECN2 chemistry and scanned on a Fuji Frontier scanner, it can give soft and subtle tones with similar color and contrast to Pro 400H. Obviously quite hard to obtain.
Man, I love your videos so much. I know I said this before but watching this from an artist's standpoint while being a little toasty (wink wink) is such a pleasure 🙂
Thanks, Andrea! Me neither. And yes, at some point. I want to make sure I get familiar with it and shoot my fair share before I try and make a video about it. Very excited to do so though!
Epic Video Love the Fuji Greens...I loved shooting with 400H since it feels whats the word? Coziness? Im gonna miss Fuji 400H too Q.Q but at same time we have to keep note that there are companies like Cinestill and Kodak who are trying their best although everything shifted to digital there is a demand thats rising and the result of that is Cinestill 400D, and Kodak Gold 200 (120)...which is unbelievable....if we passionately continue to shoot with film more hopefully Fujifilm will come back sometime like how they brought back the Across version 2....Just keep shooting
I really enjoyed this video, was looking for a video that talks about the film so that i can emulate it on my digital camer and thats how i found your channel l, subed and will follow you on instagrams too
Pro 400H has an bias towards Green, which is what I always want in my style of landscape photography but I can’t find any other film that pulls it off quite like 400H. I need to acquire mass quantities of frozen 400H, if anyone knows where I can find that please let me know 🤣
part way through but living in canada, fuji films were CHEAP compared to kodak films. Even at the end of life, I was buying 400h for 9.50 a roll CAD. Same with provia and velvia 50 120. I was recently in new york and I went to a lab called colour house (walked by and bought film) and they were asking 18 dollars for provia 120. So in the states Fujifilms are expensive, Kodak Cheap, and the inverse for Canada.
I just can't rationalise the fact that film shooters end up converting their negs to digital anyway! I do it myself and then wonder why I didn't save a fortune and shot digital in the first place.
Love the video and some great photos and thoughts for sure. Im down to my last 7 rolls of 120 format 400H. Im definitely going to use them when the opportunity presents itself. Im not going to keep them in a freezer for 10 years. They were meant to be shot. Cheers!

Beautifully said. Thank you for this.
Thanks, Kevin! Glad that part spoke to you!
@@Codacolor I'm with Kevin, certainly earned my sub.
I appreciate that. Thank you!
Pro400H is definitely underrated
Couldn't agree more, Tyler!
Wish it wasn't discontinued
Underrated or discontinued?
I mean isn’t it widely regarded as one of the best color film stocks available?
i never see some beautiful videos like this
Great commentary about 400h and film photography in general, definitely invokes emotion.
Thank you so much!
Thank you Cody for placing me in this side of photography. 3 or 4 years ago my dad would push me to try film and id mock his words and make fun of him for using such outdated technology but look at me now. Using more rolls than him and taking his cameras. Love your work!
I bet he is happy to see it. Really glad to hear that, Genin. Thank you so much!
Got goosebumps watching this. It's beautiful
Thank you, Royston!
Damn the end is so true!! You described perfectly how I feel about film photography, SOUL!
film is not dead!! love your handle by the way
One tree hill and glass house mountain!!!
Damnnnn that was so incredibly overdramatic. I cried in the end even though I know that the film is alive again😂😂🥲

I know it’s gonna be a good day when I see an upload from you!
I appreciate you, Leon. Thank you!
I enjoyed how poetic you were towards the end. You'lll be seeing me here more often
Amazing shots Cody!
PS, your dance at the end made me giggle! *I thinks that’s great! 😄*
Thanks Pearl! My sister and my cousin needed a cameo!
@@Codacolor oh, hello to your fam! 😄

I'm honored!
Can’t believe I’ve only discovered your channel today. Such an amazing video!
Ahh! Welcome aboard! Glad you're here!
When I watched this film for the fifth time, I just want to say that you are really great.
I'm honored to receive that. Thank you so much!!
Beautiful. Great place to visit all year long
I have watched this video atleast 5 times in the last year, perfection - this video got me shooting film.

That's so lovely of you to say. Thank you so much, Caitlin!
Bro, everytime I watch one of your vids it makes me want to go out and shoot... and I love it.
That makes me so happy to hear. Thank you!
Awesome video. Also, your video on the zone system has greatly improved my photography experience, I refer to that video all the time. Thanks
Really glad to hear that, Lukas. Thank you!
Your video production is just beautiful to watch. Excited to shoot through a couple rolls of pro400h as I break into medium format film.

Its a darn shame this film stock is gone. I miss those greens.
There's still some remaining stock at a reasonable price if you act now!

brilliant
if you want more, i know several shops that still have it in stock in 120
This was the easiest subscription I've ever done.
beautiful video as always. never gave 400H a try or was affected by it's passing, but i wish i had given it a try
Thanks Chandler. It's not too late to pick up a box on ebay. Prices for 120 are sitting around the normal cost for Portra 400 right now.
Also, this Canadian needs to travel that coastline before I die!
It's calling your name!

so weird to see one tree hill on the thumbnail 😂 cut my teeth shooting weddings in Maleny. Nice shots man!

I only shoot Fujicolor 400H Pro. Luckily a big company in my town has bought a lot at Fujicolor last year so they have enough stock for a long time.
Just picked up some pro 400H for retail price. And I am now very excited to shoot it :)

Which camera do you use for your videos?
Linked in description
Believe it or not, here in germany you can still get (fresh) packs, no problem. 5 rolls for 60€ approx.
That's awesome. Prices on ebay aren't too bad for 120. might pick up a bit more if portra is the same cost.
