I was born here and still live here. I absolutely love it.. and if Perth doesn't happen to have what I'm looking for I only have to travel a short distance to a bigger city. This land is beautiful.
i live there....trust me...you've got more culture in what comes out of yer back end than the Town of Perth. its absolutely perfect if you want a hair cut and a coffee but thats about it. the best bits of "Perth" aren't even in Perth, away explore the surrounding area, the country side, off the beaten track there's quite a few places dotted around relatively close to the main roads (A9, A91, A90 A85) and the Backroads between Killin, Pitlochry and Dundee and down towards Kinross with plenty of hidden and some not quite so hidden (hills) gems
@@Rybo-Senpai I hear what you're saying about the culture thing, I agree. But it will remain that way if people keep slating the place online to people who show interest in visiting. We need tourism and interest and we need to promote the place. ken what I mean?
Can't imagine I was blessed to study in UHI University..still tears roll down in nostalgia why l left and came back to India...one day I will return with my wife...its my oath...
Perth is a superb superb superb city. I lived there for two years and cant say enough of how nice the city is, how lovely the people are and how i miss it. From mauritius!
Nice video, quite honestly I don't imagining it winning though. This scheme usually focuses on completely regenerating industrial towns and Perth doesn't strike me as a place that need investment.
Perth, ah yes that is where the council thought it was agrochemical idea to place structures that look like small potato boxes narrowing parts of the streets and doing away with valuable parking spaces. The Council More clueless than Cultural.
@@jamesmiller2874 if you want a coffee and a haircut...its the town for you....other than that theres really sweet nothing...all the good bits of Perth and Kinross are really about an hour or two drive away along the main roads and down the back roads, some of them small and hidden gems, others quite visible from a distance Hills for an example
@@Rybo-Senpai I mean yeah you got a point its still a nice place to live if you don't mind traveling a distance for something that perth doesn't have but for people like me it has the needed essentials like groceries clothes and tech shops so it's good for people like me but it's not for everyone
Perth City of Culture, I THINK NOT, firstly Perth is a medium sized Town at best the only reason it got City status is because its full of Rangers supporters that are up the Queen's ass, and have not stopped bleating about it for many years Perth didn't even make it through the first round, unlike like there neighbours in the Beautiful CITY of Dundee which was narrowly defeated when it got down to the last Two, which was a travesty as Hull is a dump and it was a political decision as the vote was just before the Independence vote and the government couldn't have a City that is possibly no longer in Britain as winners of. "Britains" City of Culture, now this comment might seem a bit harsh but as Dundonian who lived in Perth for a couple of years was sick of hearing Perth people spouting about Scumdonians and Scumdee as they hilariously call Dundee at first I thought OK a bit of banter it's cool, but after time I realized I was hearing it daily by lots n lots of people and with real malice a lot of the time, I was really surprised at the hostility towards my City and it's people so needless to say it bothered me after a while, hence this comment wee bit revenge lol, its a jealously thing from the Perthers, Bigger better CITY e.t.c. made a lot of good friends in Perth but unfortunately there's to many people with a Village mentality, in Dundee there no malice towards Perth, if Perth is Mentioned it's usually in conjunction with the jail lol, Perths just a place we drive past to get to Glasgow or Edinburgh that's it, and lastly Perth IS full Rangers fans shocking.......P.S. meant say there is one place in Perth wich is Culturally rich and full of Perths finest..St Catherine's Court, I encourage newbies to Perth to visit, just don't go through the Iron Barricade Gates..haha.

Great video! I shot a video focused on Kinnoull Hill but this has inspired me to go back and shoot more.
Thank you for this!
We recently took the time to conduct our own research to find out which UK city is the most cultural.
The land of my ancestors. They hailed from the Findo Gask region. I must return. One day.
