He looks and sounds great. I remember when I read the headline that he fell and was really worried. Never been to the UK but I really admire him and hope he gets well soon.. and back on stage/screen!
Sir Ian McKellen returning to filming after fall made him think he 'was on the way out' | ITV News 2204pm 2.9.24 mother and i - we were feigning to be larkin and his mater - were watching classic corrie and found him to be amusing as the proletarian poet-fiend out for a quick and easy meal (and a pint or ten!!)... i was amused to find he was ken's nemesis............... p.s. i think she must have just got back from a night on the town... which is nice.
Emotional trauma after a sudden accident coupled with pain is very real and can follow you for a long time. I'm glad he's OK. Best wishes from Limerick Eire.
I'm a big Ian McKellen fan from the X- Men, The Lord Of The Rings Movies and his ITV series Vicious came in 2013. But I'm sure he's going ok from his leg injury.
P.S. He's Gandalf again in the new Peter Jackson's Hunt for Gollum. "(NewsNation) - Sir Ian McKellen may reprise his role as Gandalf in the upcoming “Lord of the Rings” film “The Hunt for Gollum.” But the timing has to work out - for everyone. “I'm told Gandalf is in it and I haven't read a script and there are no plans yet just filming dates."
I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully so, and not just because his portrayal of Gandalf is precious to me, but because he seems to be excited about this new, imminent film role, and I hope he would be Gandalf again because he wants to, not because he feels obligated.
Not everyone gets the same thing from a performance and critics present a point of view. Everyone raved about Oppenheimer, but I was bored stiff and left halfway through. That doesn’t mean, by the way, that I thought everyone else was wrong and the film didn’t have its’ merits.
Imagine saying this, not understanding that what the queen said to him could be construed as a serious insult. He's allowed his feelings, just like you are. Funny how that works. But I'm sure he didn't wish her harm over it the way you've done with him.
I disagree. This is how an interview SHOULD be conducted. He asks a brief question to get things started and then sits in silence and let's them speak. The interview is about THEM, not him. American interviewers try to use the interview as a showcase of their own talents, usually comedy, and the guest is relegated to listening to the interviewer be entertaining. It's all wrong! But if you're American that's what you've been fed all your life, so you don't know any better. (A lot of British interviewers have adopted that technique over the last few decades, and I find it very annoying). Everything doesn't NEED to be high energy and get a laugh every second. There is room for thoughtful discussion, and this interviewer has taken that approach. Excellent work. He got some really good material out of them both!
@@kitsworld Hard agree (with your disagreement). The interviewer is there to draw people out. If they are doing their job properly, they should be almost invisible apart from listening carefully and producing the ideal next question to keep the interview flowing,. This still requires genuine talent but also humility.

I love this man.i love Sir Ian
Steady on darling.
But you're right, he's a fantastic actor and also seems to be very kind and supportive.
Such a fine, fun person.
How on earth is Ian McKellen doing so well? He is the greatest actor that I can remember, and he's still doing it well at 85. He is just remarkable.
He looks fantastic for his age, he truly is Gandalf ❤
Very happy to hear that you have recovered and will continue to entertain us. Stay well, you are a treasure.
Wizard you shall not pass! Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian.
Love it 😆

He’s not just a national treasure, he’s a global treasure. I’m glad he’s ok. Love from Canada!
2:18 his next job is the lord of the rings, yes they are filming a new film and sir Ian McKellen is playing Gandalf ❤️
He's so beautifully " youthfull" hope for us ALL. X
Glad to see you well Sir Ian 👏take a good break!
He is *SUCH an ICON* 👑
I hope Ian recovers psychologically and physically. He's held in high regard and adfection by many of us
What is this microphone noise is it a hearing aid ??
Right!?

I think he’ll always be remembered as Magneto. Excellent actor.
The interviewer could’ve been a robot or AI. They could’ve answered a list of questions out of a sheet.
I thought he did the job he was suppose to do...let the guest speak, without interruption. So rare these days.
Well at least he's a handsome sheet of paper!
A role model for us all I love him!
most excellent and both articulate. a perfect example of stage presence to not engage with the annoying peeping and shoddy sound direction. well done.
Scary…I love this man so much
You are a Burnley lad,,,,That keeps you Strong,,,❤
Wow, actually true. Would never know from how well spoken he is. So glad I learned that.

He should just chill on Graham Nortom the rest of the year
audio is so bad
Why, I heard everything :) and was riveted. :) More important are the things that are said than some mic quality or whatever

With how much it costs to go to the movies these days, you left halfway through? Damn, must be nice.
It wad actually vince that caught him
I loved that interaction between the two actors, that was such a great gay exchange :D. All the best to Ian! I hope to be invited to his party :))
Uf .. got some feedback, there.
He's a National Treasure...glad he's doing fine...nowhere near as bad as the tabloids would have us believe..
Your staying Gandalf .
Kisses on all of the boo boos Ian.
Turn that damn thing off.
I won’t be watching after his rude remarks about Queen Elizabeth.
Who is the girl?
Girl? Looks like a full-grown woman to me.
@@heidimueller1039 no help at all, thanks
The woman is Gemma Arterton. She's a lovely actor. Especially in Summerland.
Some lovey.
The fat suit should be knighted.
Ian liked to accept a knighthood from HM the Queen but then says she was rude to him 🤷♂️. I feel sorry for the woman he fell on at the theatre.
Strange to be so dismissive over someone you don't really know. Oh well.
all his money help with great health?
What is wrong with her dress 😅

Maybe Sir Ian felt a bit awkward in the presence of a real Queen ?
