I loved Quake 4 It was more grounded, gritty, less bouncy. I’m not really much of a multiplayer person ,what I truly value is a strong single player campaign with great co-op. I loved the story of the strogg and I think a prequel where you get to play them and invade a different planet to conquer a civilization has massive potential.
Id needs to finish the Strogg war saga. We deserve an epic fitting, definitive conclusion. Can't believe it's been almost two decades since the last installment.
Definitely. Though the sad truth is that the modern gaming industry doesn't have enough guts to make something similar to what Raven did in Q4. They would probably struggle to fit it into pg 16 to attract more teens and raise sales
I didn't have a good enough PC at the time so missed the Half-Life 2, Doom 3, Quake 4 era. When I finally played Quake 4 (about 9 years ago) I thought it was a ok game. It certainly never got me addicted the way Quake/Quake II did 17/18 years previously (I got them when they were released). However I was 16/17 when I got Quake/Quake II and was in my mid 30's when I got Quake 4. I have only installed Quake 4 a few times, while Quake/Quake II have been installed more then any other game over the last 28 odd years.
Quake 4 1.42 Multiplayer was insanely fun. The strafe jumping and slide was insanely fun to use. I played nothing but basically QuakeMax (mod) from 2006-2017 or 18. A competitive style mod which also fixed a lot of vanilla's shortcomings by adding most of it in the UI, they also changed the rule set and gave more voting options. There was what I Think would have been an even better mod called Game-Type-Revolution. It added in air control alongside the slide, you wouldn't believe how some of these players could move in GTR. 100's of the multiplayer community maps were so fun too. It was a small community, but when you look at it overall. Q4 MP probably has 4x more content than any modern game with the typical mods and maps running on the final patch. Most of the hate probably comes from 1.0 , most of which was fixed by 1.2 and 1.3. They felt like completely different games.
I thought that Enemy Territory was a neat little series id Software worked on. Kinda makes me wish that the original concept for DOOM 4 was reworked into another title in the series
Just played Quake Wars again. What are the chances? Awesome series! Hey, anyone know how to decrease CPU usage (100%) while increasing GPU (~30%)? Doesn't matter if Low or High/ Ultra settings. Edited CFG gets from 30fps (max) to 45fps (av), sometimes occasionally over 60+ (av) when it finally gets off the CPU (~97%30%-75%) for a sec. What is the max screen size for this engine too? ATM im 16x10 (million) and it loves it. Wondering if this is a placebo effect as i can't count that high, but i'm struggling to see the pixels either...

Personally sick of prequels, but I get it. I'd prefer a sequel for once.
Quake Wars was such a gem. I really enjoyed it a ton.

Theanks for another Great QUKE video 👊🏻
The legend has dropped another video. Buckle up boys!
Didn't like that they turned the last game into just another hero shooter.
Sorta kinda like how quake 3 was

Yuge
It didn't feel like a sequel to Q2

tried quake champions when it was free for a while on steam played an hour and unistalled it. Did not really click with me
I will go deep into the game in the final part, but for me, it feels too 'controlled,' like it’s missing that crazy or more casual feel.
Cringe
13:43 was that Facing Worlds on Quake? That feels borderline heretical...
The worst 3 games of the franchise.
