To normal people it's insane too! That's 4:37 a mile for 26.2 miles!! Probably less than 1 in 1000 people that age can run a single mile in 4:37.

Kipchoge celebrated before he crossed the finish line. Then proceeded to hug his team. I ran my PB Mile and I felt like I was going to die. I’m convinced this guy can complete a marathon under 2 hours. He always seems to have something left in the tank. Truly impressive.

that's cuz imo pro marathon runners have developed body types not suited for short sprints, and always run at a relatively constant speed. He could probably keep going for a few km, but most likely wouldn't be able to raise his pace significantly.

@@cuchu62 not officially. He did it with pacers, a pace car and on a closed loop, in perfect conditions, with no other runners. Regardless of conditions, he completed a 26.2 mile run in under 2 hours which is incredible. I hope he does it in an official event.

@@noniotalexas8384 watching him this morning on live tv, i was a bit dissapointed, despite the inhuman time he ran. I believe he could have broken 2h mark today, instead he kept his pace and even slowed down before the finish line, almost like setting himself up for next year to break it again. I think he just could have sprinted the last 1km or 500m, go all out, instead he chose to waltz into the finish.
