    Hi Ron. Your video is great timing. I'm a 53 this year and trying to sort out my finances. I have grown up with the scarcity mindset and took that throughout my life. Due to having an accident last year savings gone and now have to start all over again on a reduced income. However, after seeing your video I am not as afraid if that makes sense. Carry on with your informative videos and take care 😊

    Excellent Ron! I’m older and just now getting some financial clarity. Keep the content coming, I’m trying to stay positive even though I’m getting a late start. I appreciate your frequent mindset mentions.

      Your mindset is definitely key. It will make or break what you believe is possible and what you actually achieve. I’m glad you enjoyed this Chris!

      I ditto this comment Chris! Me too … older category of your listeners … but am so intrigued by you and wish I had gotten more clarity of my finances in my younger years!! Ugh how much I stressed but at the same time had little guidance of how I was managing my money! Anyways I am here now and feeling really empowered by you and your advice and my very positive feeling of my finances. Thanks so much for helping me shift my mindset! You’re the best Ronald!! 💯🤗

    Develop a self-care money mentality. I really like this advice. I have recently begun to budget in the last couple months and I have to say it has been a total game changer for my finances. However, the amount of times that I don’t update it for 6 or 7 days and then having to go back and do all this work trying to figure out where money went has been a headache. I could definitely benefit from making it a part of my daily routine. Thanks Ronald.

    I think the thing that resonated most was the shift from a mindset of scarcity to one of abundance. In the past couple years, I've begun to do that and it's amazing the results. Thank you for these tips and tricks.

    I find it kind of funny how the SMART plan is starting to gain attraction by the business I work at, stating that this is a tool that people can use among others that are for the community. Of course there's nothing wrong with promoting it in general, but I guess with me following and practicing minimalism for quite some time now, the ideas behind it are really nothing new. Regardless, thank you for sharing these very helpful tips! :D

    I appreciate these thoughts. I wonder if you would do a video about money hoarding and money clutter. It seems to me that wealth hoarders are largely responsible for every social and environmental crisis we currently face. There is a serious mental and behavioral illness our culture treats as virtue-the accumulation of wealth beyond all reason or utility at any cost.

    What should I do „if I spend too little“? I‘m always scared that what I‘m buying is not worth the price and I have this inner mindset that I don‘t deserve to spend money on stuff that I actually want/like... I think it is mainly rooted in the way I grew up

      Set a grocery budget and try the cash envelope system for your variable expenses such as groceries, gas, entertainment, eating out etc. i believe this will help and commit to only using debit card to withdraw cash.

    Thanks - Question: How to find something personally compelling. Do you have that video, please?

    • @RonaldLBanks
      @RonaldLBanks  2 роки тому +1

      I don’t have a video on this yet, but I will. However to answer your question start with by setting a goal that is going to challenge you and keep your attention. To do this you actually need to keep it simple. Get to the core of what you want to accomplish. On top of that don’t be afraid to be BOLD. Seize the day and crest opportunities that excite you!

    • @keithlee7735
      @keithlee7735 2 роки тому

      Thanks, @@RonaldLBanks
      There are a few things I have put some focus on over the past couple of years.
      I am curious what flaws might be found in my way of thinking here because, as I implied, I still have not found something that truly keeps my attention. Maybe you can pull something from this reply that you may address in the 'How to find something personally compelling' video. 😉
      Maybe it is just a matter of getting myself some Git. Which is yet another rabbit hole to get into! I have experienced creating "Bold" goals as overwhelming and having me feel like diving in bed and under the covers - there has to be a balance that I have not found yet.
      Anyway, I'm going to work on catching up on UA-cam and spending an hour writing this reply is the only procrastination I'll do today.
      Keith's current Goals:
      Exploration
      I would like to experience living (not visiting) in various places in the world.
      I'm developing skills that permit working anywhere in the world, but I have no compelling 'Why?' for this goal.
      Currently, I have two specific places I would like to experience. I want to have made the first move by September 2024.
      I am an English native speaker, and I'm learning another language spoken in these two places.
      Earning an Income
      This has also led me to ask myself how I can consistently support my location independence.
      Day Trading - Though I was in profit (only just) last year, I have discovered that this is a very dull pass time. It takes up a lot of my time looking at screens and sitting in a chair. This has begun to impact my health, given that the day job is 12 hours a day of the same.
      DevOps - aligns with my current job and is inclined to pay better with potentially fewer hours. Successfully making this stuff work is very satisfying, but it is sitting in a chair for long periods again.
      Health
      The 'Why?' is to reduce/remove pain, feel better about the way I look
      Sitting in a chair 12 hours a day has led to back pain and not being the best physical shape.
      A change of diet and yoga helps.
      The diet change is easy given that I live alone and decide what goes into the food basket, so what I crave are not around when I desire them. ~3stone (42lb / 19.5kg) lost in the past two years. This only slips when I spend time with the GF and friends.
      Doing the exercise is hit-n-miss, more miss. Exercise is uncomfortable, so it is less appealing than catching up on UA-cam.

    I'm a huge fan of earning more money, and I think everyone should have a side hustle. Side hustling can allow you to earn that little bit of extra money that can help you achieve your financial goals faster - whether it's paying off student loans or saving for retirement.

    The biggest financial myth is the "If I just made more money." The more you make, the more you spend. If you don't fix the problem the problem continues no matter how much you make.
