I ran 2 half marathons last year. One jn vaporfly and the other in the Alphaflys. The Alphaflys were 2 minutes quicker. However the half with the vaporfly had more hills and was 10 degress hotter. So in my opinion they are pretty even. Saying that i set my 5k pb in the alphafly, 20 s quicker than the vapor. Either way both are great
I was behind you at Cap10k start and next to you at start of hometown (fake Vaporfly race) 5k. Love the shorts (jorts). Cap10k was actually about 6.3 miles while you even said after the UT 10k with Alphafly that the course was short probably close to 6.1 miles. So probably ran faster in Cap10k and it is HILLY. GOOD JOB.
thank you so much for the running content, I am a post collegiate runner and i love to see how you stay motivated to keep racing and running! keep it up!
Help me out here. I bought vaporfly 2 and for two weeks couldnt break them in...made me run slow. I had to return them. I think Vaporfly 3 might be the shoe for me
The alphaflies V2 does not have the same magic. Alphaflies from your stock will deteriorate as the foam starts breaking down from the moment they were produced....the v3 is most likely even slower than the 2 as nike is aiming at more and more mass appeal. It's such a shame
@@TylerSpeers Get well bud! I enjoy shoe comparison vids, maybe if you'll be interested and able to afford testing at a run lab- with oxygen consumption, g shock insoles and stuff- that'd be incredibly comprehensive data

You don't think that carbon plated shoes lose their spring after they've been used? Somebody told me that they're best when they're new and they don't get better with age. Vapes all the way!
True...my hyperion elite 2 from 2 years ago are slowing me down now compared to regular trainers...I just wore them for 200 miles but they're gone...the foam in these super shoes needs to be young and unused....time and miles will destroy those shoes...

Brah what if you add the times of the first race of each mile (1-6) it comes out as 35:59 so yep definitely weird course length Second race first 6 miles added up is 35:20 so technically Tyler ran faster in that race
Yeah overall pace was 5:58 for the first race and 5:53 for the second, so I think the second was definitely a faster race, especially considering it had so many more hills
I've been confused myself lately, because I'm thinking about buying Vaporfly's or Alphafly's, and this video really helped. You're crazy, and you did great on both 10K's! As a fellow runner, you earned a subscriber.
Not a good test, but great video none the less. In two weeks, many things can happen that could alter your fitness. It might be better to do small intervals, altering your shoes, and doing it for different speeds/paces.
Do you like the Alphaflys or the Vaporflys more?
Definitely vaporfly. They are lighter and smoother to me. Alphaflys are more durable and comfortable but for all out speed ima go vaporfly.
I ran Cap10k in vaporflys
I like Asics metaspeed since I don't have Nike shoes
ffs, you have to run the same distance in the same place.

Wait I’m confused if the first course was short, just going on splits it seems like the 2nd race was faster? Idk but in any case both shows are great!
That's what I was thinking, the splits on the second course with the vaporflys seemed faster than the alphaflys

Next time, run the exact same course to see which is faster

You can't have an objective test on two different courses. Lol
It's youtube probably shouldn't take it too seriously, not bad entertainment though
As a runner I know it can be boring but this guy is an amazing story teller. Keep up the good work man!
Video would be even better in kms instead of miles 😂

for your next vid you should try chase Easterling's coaching for a month he just opened coaching sessions it'd be cool for a review or smth

do other super shoe competitions like endorphin pro vs the alpha fly

I would personally go with the vaporfly because the alphafly causes really bad blisters
