I really appreciate the thought that went into your breakdown of this episode… I agree, Adina Porter’s performance was hypnotic and for me, award worthy. I also interpreted the dying AIDS patient floating in golden fluid mirroring Lillian’s description of what she did when unable to sleep i.e., imagining herself in a boat with legs and arms safely inside to avoid being bitten by sharks. When he dies… she does not say goodbye, but instead, “Sleep Tight.” A masterful episode!
That is a fair perspective on that scene, the fact that I can make a video like this & after thinking damn I should have mentioned this or that, is indicative of how well done it was. Especially since she basically asked to pull a cast away and act by herself. Excellent 👌🏻 Thanks for your support!
So you think a 13 yr old child had a baby? It happens I know but I think the reason they were in these scenes because the narrator says something to the effect of when we dream, we usually cast people who we know in real life to play out these roles in our dreams
There is no telling what her age is, just what she told Emma. So no I do not think a 13 yr old had a child, although it could be. I think she was older like in the flashback and the father was killed by her. Or I'm wrong, but that's just a theory. 😁
This is an absolutely brilliant review of “Stormy Weather.” Thank you for breaking things down; you mentioned a few things that I hadn’t even considered. This is just amazing. Apple should use you for an official The Changeling podcast in S2. God willing we have a S2 of this fantastic, cerebral show. P.S. Adina Porter is wonderful!!
I agree with u about the supernatural part of the show just being anologies and it will be up to us to figure out if everything we saw was real. I would hate if that's the case but oh well. Also i do think Brian was the transvestite found in the room after 2 weeks. She made sure to mention it after she entered the hotel to show how shity the hotel was. But it also tells us the viewers that she is well awar of the hotel and knows that she could get away with something like that. 2 things also stood out to me. Someone kept saying in the background "i know what you did". And when she spoke about Brian specifically when she mentioned where Brian was from a male voice (could be the narrator) kept saying "correction...correction" could this be a hint that he lied to her about where he is from?? Young Wheels is actually the person holding the sign "if your looking for a sign, this is it" in front of Lillian on the street and its the same sign seen behind Emma when she had tea with Wheels last episode. In the hotel Lillian saw something in the mirror that reached out to her. Her mom told her to call upon spirits when she was weak and we know that she spoke to someone/something else in that room. I know am all over the place with these theories but plz bare with me 😁 I understand why Charles is at the hotel in this memory sequence but why was he also in the library as a homeless man the day Apollo and Emma met? Apollo even mentions him as the one who got him out of prison. This episode is like those evidence boards detectives use with pictures and strings. The clues aare all there just a matter of connecting all of them 🤔 I think Apollo is the one in the suitcase and she got a changeling in return and that is the true deal that was made in the hotel. She was not there in grief because of Brian...she said she never loved him. Apollo is why she is there and she is confessing why she chose Brian to be his father. And because of that choice is why she is in this situation. We do know that Charles is Apollo's father but not because she confessed to it. But because we saw their names together on the same date in the book at the end. We are getting stories and flashbacks but i think key parts are still being left out 🤔 I would not be surprised if the nexr flashback or perspective we get is from William aka KG.
I think the most important part of the episode is the narrator's introduction and question. He says we cast our dreams as a play and asks who plays each role and why. It's as important as when Cal talks about what the story of Rapunzel, or any old fairy tale, is really about and the show is prompting us to sort of think outside the box. It's a story about stories. This episode is written and filmed as if it's a play and it's working as if it has those limitations. They're recycling the actors. We're not meant to interpret Kim's actress as Kim just as we're not meant to interpret the young man with AIDS as Brian. We're just supposed to ask why the show put those familiar faces in those positions.
In one of the earlier episodes when Lillian had given birth to Apollo and Brian was there He asked was it ok to name a "Black Kid " Rocky. I feel like that was a clue that Apollo wasn't Brian's Son! I think Brian knew Lillian wasn't pregnant with his child, but the "Glamor" She had over Him caused Him to marry Her anyways and accept Apollo as His because He wanted a family soo badly!
Yea I took that as a bit racist it. Was like he was talking about some one else’s kid not his own child but I love the name Apollo I have a dog named Apollo and one named Athena
Thanks that means a lot! I love deep dives so this is fun 😊 This UA-cam thing is learn as you go, so I appreciate that you enjoyed it. Thanks for the support.
Great cover, I have a hard time believing Brian is deleted, since 2 weeks ago, everyone that crossed the sea was involved in a bargain even lineage wise, so something there is not fully clear, William still look the same physically looking through the door peep hole, and to me that's supernaturally potent lol, so Brian must be involved in that crossover lineage also, too much deals and bargain was possibly done by nonbias entity so I'll fall back to see
I'm not sure if William was ever supernatural, but possibly used by the Evil as a deception for Apollo & Lillian. Now big Willy 😂 yeah I agree and I think I found something interesting 🤔 about him the other day, stay tuned. Thanks for the continued support 👍🏻
Only thing you didnt hit on was the 3 gold pieces on the floor. I believe they would be the wishes she changed/overturned in the hotel. She left them there to change what apolo was going through.
I did hit on them, but I said they could be from Brian's uniform, BUT your answer is excellent, it's another tie in to Lillian & Emma. Thanks for supporting the channel! 🔎
Those gold things are sequins that fell off the gold sequin dress, that she wore in the dream and the transgender woman that was found strangled was probably wearing. Sequin dresses always shed like that.
OMG! This is a great theory analysis! Kim could very well be Emma’s mother. Thinking back to when the mother was was combing her hair really hard and told her to stop complaining about it…it read jealousy and spite. I love where this is going…rather where you’re taking it 🥰
i been thinking the water brian was using was hot just as the water emma used. do you think Brian was trying to reveal the changling and his mom killed him to protect “apollo” ?
That is a great observation! I would say that both of these scenarios were meant to parallel a "baptism" that would cleanse Emma & Brian W from the intruder in their lives. However, I do not think Apollo was a changeling in the same sense as Baby Brian. Apollo was a changeling specifically to Brian W because to him Apollo was masquerading as his son, but he really wasn't & he knew that. But like Apollo tells Emma she is crazy, Lillian tells BW he is crazy for thinking that. Sorry for the long response 😁 & thanks for supporting the channel, we appreciate ya!

It also seems like when you go near and under the bridge You kind of have to conjure up a memory or something to gain access to the island because remember, Apollo remembered him in his date, and the next thing The Island appeared Kim when getting close to the bridge. She and Emma have some type of flash back moment-and Kim takes the phone it seem like she notified someone Emma was on her way and pushes her to the water And also William said that he was on that canal and or river for a long time searching for the island, but cannot get there-so clearly, the Ila is protected from his kind of Magic Did we see the previews for the upcoming episode? Where does that boat come from that Apollo’s in? It looks like he goes exactly where it is.
Maybe when you cross the threshold between worlds, you see memories of the world you are entertaining. So Brian West was Kinder Garten, right? And Lillian walked in on him trying to kill Apollo like he did Agnes. I gathered this from the narrator forcefully interrupting as she says he’s from Syracuse. And we’re reminded that William/the entity that is Brian is a violent predator who preys on traumatized people. I just keep coming back to the fact that dad Brian was so fixated on that book. He wouldn’t give up on Lillian because her trauma made her an ideal target just like Emma’s trauma made her ideal. And that’s what I gather kinder garten was registering when he saw that picture of her in Norway. Or maybe he saw that picture and recognized her but also recognized a super natural influence that caused his obsession (when he is talking to Apollo about the Facebook stuff he says “I just needed to see baby Brian” or something creepy like that) and is aware of this exception/unusual chain of events Lillian set off in preventing him from getting Apollo. I think the deal Lillian made was to get this entity to leave Apollo alone and since this is a fairy tale, may have gone so far as to promise it another child. Which might explain some of her more erratic behavior in earlier episodes because she is worried it’s coming for baby Brian. I think the box was left for her, not Apollo, to remind her of the deal she made. It’s wet because it’s all tied to this creature that came over from Norway. Perhaps this entity that helped the sloopers safely travel has a debt to be paid by the travelers’ descendants to give it babies and kinder garten can inhabit them at any time to help it collect. My other thought is that Apollo DID die in that tub and and the deal was to get him back. And the sick man was in the tub to represent Apollo. Loving a dying, lonely man to assuage her gilt that her son died after being left alone without parents because of her mistakes. Of course it could more obtuse and just meant to remind us that her son was as risk of dying in a tub without her, drawing parallels between the hurts caused by parents failing their children. I don’t know, I think that episode was a bit over the top. When it first ended I was excited by it because it was very involved but the more I think on it, the more I think it was way more involved than necessary. Maybe if there is a second season and we get to see how the story ends I’ll be glad for it but my gut says it was a bit self-indulgent. A lot of what I like about this show is that it’s nuanced yet allegorical and that episode felt like it took that and exploited it. I like watching stuff that assumes the viewer is intelligent enough to grasp what they are watching and somehow that episode felt like they were being cryptic while also assuming we were too stupid to get it so they were being overly obvious and the result was kind of a mess. I could also see it being a lovely stand-lone once we have more information too. We may not even get a season 2. In that event, I hate it 😂
So much to unpack 😄 I'm getting my thoughts 💭 together myself to put out the video for this. But I don't disagree with a lot of what his said. I will say this though, if this is a stand alone series the finale was no bueno for me. If it's going to continue, I thought it was ... Okay. Thanks for replying back…question…So did Greta kill the baby or William? And if William killed their daughter why is Greta there? Cal mentioned all the women did the same thing…
Good question. My co-host Rob (on vacation) had figured that Greta killed the changeling & to William that was killing his child. But William may have liked the actual child. I'm not really sure, the picture of Greta on the phone 📱 is just odd and I think she is wearing the same clothes, which is really odd. So here is my thing, IF she did have a changeling experience & kill her "baby" & William did then how would the Wise Ones know? Their main tool is finding Mom's in the site that have experiences that they identify as challenging because of the symptoms they post. Now if KG just killed his daughter, it's sad but it happens and it would be something the police handle.
Another connection I'm looking to solidify is between Nassau Knowles cemetery 🪦 and the portals. Lillian and Kim bring it up by name and tell Apollo to go. There is a tower at the cemetery similar to the tower in Cals room that she built. I feel like it means something.
Ms Lillian said " I am here to un-make a deal? She had an ongoing affair with her boss, Charles. They met in room 203 regularly. She came across an trans man dying of AIDS in Room 200. She assisted in his death by strangling him and shoving him under the bed. She then found herself pregnant with Apollo. Lillian says "I married Brian to hide a mistake". She asked the spirits to allow her to be the best Mom and let her get away with murder. "But the Gods will take what they are owed", so Apollo paid the price by being falsely accused of killing Baby Brian. Lillian wants to undo this deal and save her grandchild and establish a family for Apollo and Emma. Said she held 3 dying men in het arms... her brother Arthur in Uganda dying while fleeing, the AIDS man dying alone hiding his shame and Brian who tried to kill Apollo to hurt Lillian and avoid another man to enter Apollo's life.
that's fair, he it could be he is shaved and the clothes on him or it could be totally different. either way he is still holding red and blue bags and the top and bottom of the scene are in that blurred portrait mode style again, which happens a lot.
Agreed a very intense stare, she was looking like a sorceress...Almost like during the photo years later. But if Kim was talking about Emma in the episode 7 scene while she was yelling at the stroller... You may be right 👍🏻 Thanks for taking the time to comment, we appreciate ya 😁🎉
No. I'm saying that what Kim told us isn't true. That the Kim & guy we saw in the last episode are a couple not father/daughter. That either Emma or a baby we have not met was in the stroller & it was taken, which is why she is aware of the Wise Ones. I'm saying that she is older than she says. There is no pedophile or incest in this theory 😁 There may not even been a burning 🔥 house, but if there was and he walked back in Emma and her mother (Kim) were outside.
I was really enjoying this show until this episode. This episode was just a filler and was not necessary. They could have told Lilly's story without diverting from the main story. I think they wasted this episode when they could've focused on baby Brian's whereabouts. I hope the last episode is more forthcoming with what's really going on.
I will reserve judgement till I see the last 29 min. You could be correct and afterwards say eh we needed more, but we may look back and appreciate the episode more. We will see come Friday 😁
I was so confused by this episode that I watched it twice and was still lost. After watching a few of these reviews, I have a better appreciation but will likely still watch the entire season again once the last episode drops. Two things I’m thinking about that nobody else I’ve listened to or read has mentioned. Did Apollo never google his dad’s name and see that he was actually missing/never seen again by anyone? It has to be odd for a cop to just disappear. Where the heck was Apollo when the killing of Brian and “disposing” of his body was happening? Lilly Ann is bloody in room 205 so presumably this was after the deed was done? Did she leave that boy alone again after his “daddy” tried to kill him??? Or is Apollo really dead and a changeling 🫣
OKAY! I'm laughing because I thought the same thing about Google & the missing cop going under the radar. I figured either two things, 1. They did look and found nothing and they didn't need to show all of that. 2. The deal she made with the thing made this a non issue, I am partial to #2. We don't know, the theories are that he is mixed with the garbage piled on the streets, he was in the suitcase or he is the transgender woman who was found dead. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

She then found herself
pregnant with Apollo.
That very well could be it! Thanks for your comment 😊
You are the Mother! 😂
I don’t believe the homeless guy in episode 1 is the same black guy as Lilian boss or motel owner.
that's fair, he it could be he is shaved and the clothes on him or it could be totally different. either way he is still holding red and blue bags and the top and bottom of the scene are in that blurred portrait mode style again, which happens a lot.
Emma was really strange as a child in the house fire, emotionless. Maybe shes the changeling.
Also what is the meaning of the houndstooth jacket and Apollo references the mad max beyond thunderdome. A movie about children raising themselves
Agreed a very intense stare, she was looking like a sorceress...Almost like during the photo years later.
But if Kim was talking about Emma in the episode 7 scene while she was yelling at the stroller... You may be right 👍🏻
Thanks for taking the time to comment, we appreciate ya 😁🎉
Is Kim is Emma's mom? Is that a question inside a question?
A conundrum ha
❤
Back at ya ❤️
So are you saying on top of abuse their was some crazy incestuous pedo stuff going on at Emma and Kim’s house that burned
No. I'm saying that what Kim told us isn't true. That the Kim & guy we saw in the last episode are a couple not father/daughter. That either Emma or a baby we have not met was in the stroller & it was taken, which is why she is aware of the Wise Ones.
I'm saying that she is older than she says.
There is no pedophile or incest in this theory 😁
There may not even been a burning 🔥 house, but if there was and he walked back in Emma and her mother (Kim) were outside.
I lost a few more braincells trying to read the title of this video.
Glad we could help 😃 🧠
I was really enjoying this show until this episode. This episode was just a filler and was not necessary. They could have told Lilly's story without diverting from the main story. I think they wasted this episode when they could've focused on baby Brian's whereabouts. I hope the last episode is more forthcoming with what's really going on.
Also forgot to mention that Crappy Reviews is the best reviewers out there and not crappy at all:)
Thanks so much, we appreciate that a lot, we are working our way up the ladder 🪜
I will reserve judgement till I see the last 29 min. You could be correct and afterwards say eh we needed more, but we may look back and appreciate the episode more. We will see come Friday 😁
They definitely dragged it out. I get it that they wanted to explain things in analogies but they put way too much fillers in it.
Where the heck was Apollo when the killing of
Brian and “disposing” of his body was happening?
@@thescreensleuths I am also partial to #2 and thinking this is why baby Brian became a changeling. Looking forward to the season finale
@theebottomliner Yup. That's why she says it came back on Apollo 35yrs later.
OMG! This is a great theory analysis! Kim could very well be Emma’s mother. Thinking back to when the mother was was combing her hair really hard and told her to stop complaining about it…it read jealousy and spite. I love where this is going…rather where you’re taking it 🥰
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
Her whole recollection of that day seems off & there is no non-witch reason the dad just walks back in.
We appreciate you taking the time to support the channel! 🔔👍🏻
