Nice run Richard, you just be introduced a whole new catagory for topics and trains of it interest. The High Hoods. Thanks for pointing them out I personally really like the gp's ,Keep running those trains and "Happy Rails". GMan
Thanks! Some of these Geeps were quite affordable at around $50 or less each, but needed lots of work. Still they’re easy to fix and look great pulling all types of cars
Most of the ones I’ve found were for around $50 each or less, but in very rough condition. I could never afford the nicer geeps so the ones that were beat up I repainted like the Wabash and Rio Grande
Ya know, I don't think I've ever associated these GP locomotives with surf culture hahaha But this was a nice way to showcase all of your excellent handiwork
You raise a good point! I was going to use Bugle Call Rag but that seemed a tad old for these newer diesels. I went ahead with “Surf Beat” since it fits the era these engines operated, well close enough :)
Exactly! Although I think one of those Santa Fe EMD F7 engines would be the best for Surf/Beach Culture (they're really the only diesels that tickle my fancy hahaha)

Awesome video!
Thanks!
I only have four gp9s, Santa Fe. I like to have a Wabash and Milwaukee. Money, money.

@@richardstrainsandmore excellent work, I couldn't tell. Proof; model railroading is possible with budget minded people.
@@joeystrains.9316 and tons of patience to get it right. But that’s what I love about this hobby you can still have the same fun without going broke
@@richardstrainsandmore Amen.
Well I think we know what type of locos that Rich loves the most haha! Love all that EMD action Rich!!
Haha you’re certainly right about that! Now if only I could get ahold of some F units, too bad they’re always ridiculously priced high

Very nice.have a great day.
Thanks!
Lionel rail scope
There are actually 2 rail scope locomotives here but one was repainted. Any guesses as to which one?
@@richardstrainsandmore I have a hunch that its the Santa fe
Not that one, in fact that one’s built completely different from the Rail Scope diesels
@@richardstrainsandmore uh rio grand or the southern Pacific
Nope still not those, it’s the M&StL geep that appears at 1:49
Are the gp9s smaller in scale than the sd40s?
