Honestly, this reminds me of older youtube and I love it. Just the snappy writing and delivery alone feels perfect. Really love the way the pokemon are animated in this.

me and my friend keep coming back to these!
here is a somewhat concerningly extensive list of things i like in this animation, because im bored
- the beginning underwater shot and how the music is muffled
- flareon being burnt by vaporeon (0:08)
-the voice doesnt muffle as much because that'd be distracting and imply theres something underwater to focus on right now, BUT there is still some water effects (0:17) because we are still talking about magikarp.. i assume this comes from the intuition of the animator!
-"eating YOU is cannibalism, eating a magikarp is-" and then it cutting off is funny (0:19)
(i also like how vaporeons eyes slowly go up from the water showing the moment he notices the bird)
-i like the "fucking birds" followed by vaporeon looking do wn, then back to flareon. good delivery and also the brief silence without music is funny + the wind (0:25) its pretty clear vaporeon is sick of birds taking his fish all the time since he does it a lot lol
-also little things like when vaporeon looks toward flareon, a shot of flareon begins, then it shoots back to vaporeon, we still see vaporeons eyes moving away from flareon, showing consistency.. (0:28)
-when vaporeon offers fish to flareon and flareon says "sure," he pops into the frame (0:33) which is cute
also this is everywhere but flareon bounces back left just a bit after popping in. theres a lot of little animation and fine-tuning of expressions like that in here. this animation has a very snappy style, but not STIFF. its more like clicky? or.. a sort of stop-motion effect to it. very stylized! the lighting is great too
-vaporeon's thoughts being cut off multiple times by the birds presence (0:37)
-flareon yelling "victim" (the delivery is so good) (0:41)
ALSO, u can see flareon looking across the water to find the fish before he yells it (also the blinking sound as vaporeon notices)
-flareon flinching at the splash (0:43) -flareon covering his ears is cute, i feel bad! also, i appreciate the detail of them shouting over the yelling (0:47 ) “motherfucker!”
skarmory: ya (0:50) i also like vaporeon’s threatening punch gestures
- the second skarmory brings up type advantages, the realization between flareon and vaporeon is really funny, followed by a really simple fire attack then blank expressions as the bird screams (0:59)
theres a lot in these animations that make them feel super funny and alive. i also really like the voice(s?) and wouldnt want it any other way lol.
its kind of weird to point out all this, because all of us already notice these details i think, we just experience it visually instead of listing it out verbally like i just did but i just wanted to confirm we notice them lol keep up the good work!
