As I noted to someone else, I train people to finance projects and community concepts, it leads to my thinking you can do what you want to. I saw a note on my ticket application that says you can pay cash or credit, OR you can pay on time...........if you did standing room, that would be less than $25 a month if you go in January. less if you go in March. And, my Director is the world's most fabulous finder of airline and hotel deals........the sooner you reserve and start paying, the less the cost.......again, over three to five months, your ticket and hotel might be a lot less than you think. And it is quite acceptable in our family to ask people for early holiday presents, and have a dinner to raise money for something you really want to do. Hope to see you there, or hear you made it.........I am very fortunate to have a friend with timeshare days in Vegas, and also is going in a couple of weeks to buy a house there.....AND she is going anyway, so I can ride along with her.......just for paying for her ticket! But, what are we going to do with our free liquor??? Neither of us drink. BUT, she said, she is going to find a good looking young man (luckily at our age anyone below sixty is young) and give away her free drinks.

While in college for Administration of Justice I dated a veteran who ran a big sound company, he had been Janis sound man during the months before her death. I happened to later be thinking of auditioning for thee role of Janis in PEARL. Janis was so amazing, yet she never got the message that SHE was the party, did not have to search for the party to accept her. In those days if a person overdosed on drugs, no one wanted to call and get them help, because the caller could get arrested, or convicted of the death and being in a place where drugs were possessed and used. There was a jerk there with Janis earlier the evening she overdosed......he more than left her to die, he had told her she was just a slutty loser before she injected her last hit. It is one of the reasons I volunteered with women trying to get clean and sober from drugs and alcohol. God bless and RIP Janis.

@@jst4horses1 Right on time Elizabeth. Janis had very low-esteem.. a result of a childhood being picked on and made fun of. And your right SHE was the party and didn't take shit from anyone. Jim Morrison found that out one night..partying with Janis at Paul Rothchild's house. Jim became the disgusting drunk typical of his hard drinking habits. And Janis was completely turned off by his behavior towards her. And tried to get away from him a few times that night. She nearly got away before Jim followed her out to her car and reached in and grabbed her by her hair and tried to pull her out. Janis reached for a bottle of Southern Comfort she had in her car..and hit Jim in the head and knocked him out cold! Morrison became completely smitten with her after that night 🤣 Begging Rothschild for her number! Paul didn't think it was a good idea they get together again. She was a trip. And not to be fucked with. Gone way to soon 🙏 Very sad she was left alone like that in her hotel room at the Landmark Hotel in Hollywood. Thank God the music is forever! And one hell of a musical legacy she left behind in the short time she was with US. Janis Joplin still has the most powerful - soulful voice of all the Women of Rock N Roll 🎶 The Baddest QUEEN OF THEM ALL 🙌✌️
My close friend shares a birthday with Janis Joplin ( January 19). When we get together...it's always a party. And many toasts are made with Southern Comfort! The anniversary of her passing is just a week away on October 4. Got my plane tickets and hotel worked out -- staying at Mandalay Bay from the 10th to the 13th -- got our Jump tickets -- taking my lady too -- great person. She's estranged from the Hoffman's, being that she only discovered her true patriarchy via Ancestry DNA a few years ago -- she's not a handful -- she's two: if you ever thought you'd like to meet Abbie Hoffman, this is your best shot: she is absolutely the most like him of all of his children. Did I say too much? I know Justin does some of your line of work out there on occasion (the DJ gig). I don't blame them (the Hoffmans) for not caring to know her -- but she's a peach and a joy -- I have never laughed so hard in my life as with her.

Fearsome Name Yes! And Apache has some very innovative guitar: feedback, whammy bar, etc. - still in the ‘50s! Not exactly surf; not quite anything - his influence was far reaching though - Page is a fan - it’s pretty clear Hendrix was too. He didn’t have the strongest songs, or the most virtuosic playing, but the sounds he coaxed from a guitar were amazing. If you listened to him, where you a soc, or a greaser? Mod, or rocker? Idk

Haight is the name of a street, named after a MAN. A long ago San Francisco leader. Ashbury is the name of another street. It was like the OLD old town of Pasadena, old stores, and tacky buildings, and lots of cheap places college kids and draft dodgers could afford to go. Linda and I went to many of the big Be Ins that created that whole era before the losers and drug addicts took over and then the developers came in and made OLD TOWN into what it is here in Pasadena, and sandwich shops that sell $20 half sandwiches with $15 mug of "bone broth"....meaning what we used to cook up from the dog bones to make sure the dogs did not get sick from raw meat and marrow....................but is now a trendy treat. Linda, Leona and I all sang at open mics in many of those clubs with bands that now are famous, then were just sing for beer groups. My cousins had a Dad in the military, their local club in London had a band that played, often for beer, later known as the Beatles. These were NOT radio show trends, these were amazing times to LIVE.

I was in LA for two days, fast paced, doctors, friends, etc. Birthday party for my older son's God daughter......wow, she is eleven! Seems like a minute ago she was born. She was so tiny, we have a picture of Tim holding her in his HAND and his face is total fear, in the next picture his face is angels and she has been his God-daughter from that second. He asked his first God -daughter if it was OK with her, she had just been accepted into UCLA law school, and said of course. If Sky does as well as the Lovely Princess has done in finding and meeting her dreams, another great woman is on the way!!! You too have a great weekend. This week end my plan is to get my garden ready for spring, work on my books, and web site, AND have a day off, Everyone is going off somewhere, so I get a whole day for ME!.

Another web site is for the veterans and their families.....it is National Homes for Heroes/Spirit Horse II........some real estate firm wants us not to use Homes for Heroes in our work since they want all the slots so they can get all the vets (only 3 MILLION and growing to get their homes from them...we asked the US Trademark Office if they can trademark words in general use , they said, NO .......and that National Homes for Heroes/Spirit Horse II is NOT the same as homes for heroes... We notified their lawyer that we will not open the new education site with National Homes for Heroes, but change it to nhh48.org and if they want to fight, have at. But it takes away the joy and energy, but now I have new heart meds, and a new grant for the spay and neuter project.......we will move ahead....on our education programs. Whatever, it is a beautiful day, have a great weekend...........I intend to enjoy a day alone, everyone went off to work and town. YAY. Sometimes I just like down time for ME:{)

Well I did Desafinado it was in my song book before the cops smashed it and beat me up and stole my car and CD's again.......they had done that many times over many years..........they stole my song book as well.......because I rewrote it real fancy but used beat paper.........and a beat copier.........you got to keep thinking ahead...........but like I am not sure if I preferred Hendricks on In Summer or Sugar......which are another two songs I did.........

Dave is a g-ddamn genius but it takes work to follow him through all his verbal convolutions. Repeated viewings are advised.
The whole 'dressing the same on and off stage" thing has gotten really boring. Especially today with scaled down shows in smaller venues. I don't like my rock stars looking like me. You don't have to go back to the 60s with the same suit and tie, but I think dressing up or dressing differently for shows could improve things. After all, does anyone think Dave wore spandex everyday in 1984? I don't think so.
sucks......I ace it of course......you would hear no difference.....but it sucks to do that sometimes of course
none of them brought my piano teacher a new chart blank chart.......no one.......he could play in all 12 keys.......any song......he had over 1000 songs completely memorized........and he could play classical.......he could read well........but he could naturally improvise any tune in any key instantly.........so I gave him all of my real books........which were 3 or 4 encyclopedia brand new books.......and would borrow a book once in a while.....Ernest Becker and etc.......he once said Madonna could really sing......I said nothing.......lots of space at lessons.........
