Children Of Eden Soundtrack FATHER Cain! Cain! The voice of your brother's blood Cries to me from the ground I curse that ground And I curse you Be a fugative and a vegabond All your wretched life And should you find a wife I curse her too And all your tainted progeny Your children's children's children FATHER AND STORYTELLERS Even to the seventh generation! Let the righteous hear: The seed of Cain with guilt and shame is ridden All concourse with them is forever more forbidden Shun them like the scorpion and shark And that you may know them On Cain I set this mark. The race of Cain must ever bear this mark! STORYTELLERS The wild beast howl and the wild winds blow And the seeds of the tree of knowledge grow And you know things now you wish you didn't know In the wasteland... In the wasteland... In the wasteland...
I had the part of Cain in my high school musical theatre company when we performed Children of Eden. I won awards for my acting in nation wide competitions, still a highlight of my life
God makes a lot of curses in this musical willy-nilly. But I'm an atheist, so I see this more as a musical based on mythology. Which is interesting to me cuz I think the creators of this musical really worked to make god a character with flaws, who grows as a character through the show. I'd love more musicals based on mythology, like Norse. We need a Loki musical!
Orochimaruswife1 Thats a really good perspective to have. I have a lot of friends who won't watch it because it's "religious" and I know religious people who hate it because its not "accurate" to the bible, but ahhh its a story! And a really good one!
@@unityfusion6674 Ok TRUE. But I think the story isn't the same as in the bible? Idk honestly, I just know my friends family was v mad about it when we went to see it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wish to say on this, God does not do anything Willy nilly as I was reading in comments and He also has everything for purpose and no this does not show him accurately not many musicals ever do. As a believer of faith myself I have gotten to see how He actually is and there is alot here that is not correct. They used the base of what's happening and then took things and added what they wanted as agian many musicals on stage do.
Yeah that’s my issue with this musical, they portray God in a very human way which is SO inaccurate. Like they make Him all powerful but not all knowing. I still like the musical but that’s my main issue with it.
@@finn.8490 I think you're thinking of a different diety because the Christian God doesn't have if you do this I kill you mentality. though if you're going by example of Greek mythology or Egyptian mythology a lot of the deities actually have that type of mentality and I know in this musical they try to use a zeus-styled personality to God of the Christian faith and that is not his mentality in the first place ; so again they do not give him actual character development and they're not portraying him correctly or accurately.
Lol I was at Rehearsal recently and, God said "CAIN!!!!!!" Very loud and "where's your brother?" In a normal voice
This was one of the most stressful songs I remember being in when I was in children of Eden.
Children Of Eden Soundtrack
FATHER
Cain! Cain!
The voice of your brother's blood
Cries to me from the ground
I curse that ground
And I curse you
Be a fugative and a vegabond
All your wretched life
And should you find a wife
I curse her too
And all your tainted progeny
Your children's children's children
FATHER AND STORYTELLERS
Even to the seventh generation!
Let the righteous hear:
The seed of Cain with guilt and shame is ridden
All concourse with them is forever more forbidden
Shun them like the scorpion and shark
And that you may know them
On Cain I set this mark.
The race of Cain must ever bear this mark!
STORYTELLERS
The wild beast howl and the wild winds blow
And the seeds of the tree of knowledge grow
And you know things now you wish you didn't know
In the wasteland...
In the wasteland...
In the wasteland...

They gave god an actual character, not a ridiculous ”If you don’t do this I’ll kill you” character. They gave him growth and development.

I thought God preached forgiveness? Is it not weird to curse everyone bc of their one horrible ancestor
@@zeldie2375Sounds like somebody hasn’t read the Old Testament.
god, it was an accident. overreaction much
In the Bible it is not by accident Cain deliberately killed able.
@@lunastarienrose5774 God allowed Cain to kill Abel. To me it's His hand. He made justice, and He works through people.
