Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me such a lovely comment. I think I will have to borrow your phrase 'painting with plants', if you don't mind, and use it as a title for a future video. What a lovely way to describe the process. I had never thought of it that way. Thank you. Diane 😊
Thank you so much Mary. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the video and I'm very grateful that you took the time to leave me such positive feedback. Sometimes I worry that I change my mind a little too often when I'm arranging the plants and that some people might find it irritating. But then I guess It's all part of the creative process. Diane 😊
You are the queen of repurposing! So smart! This may be my favorite garden of yours and it’s so much fun seeing you create it! 🪴 it’s just stunning!🌸😀🌱
Oh, thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I'm delighted you like the courtyard area as much as me and that you enjoyed watching the creative process. I do worry sometimes that I chop and change my mind a little too often, when I'm arranging the plants, and that some viewers might find this irritating. But I do love dressing the courtyard in particular and am always chomping at the bit for the weather to warm up so that I can begin the process. You'll be glad to know that all of the ferns are up now as it's never stopped raining here in England for the last two weeks 😊.
.i really enjoy you changing up your area..my favorites are the ornamental maple trees..but i have to say i really also love your other choices of plants you chose to do combinations with..💙🇨🇦🇺🇲🌿
It looks lovely 🌿 I have a 4 year old grandson - we had a pram high chair baby walker all the tackle they use 💙 I love reusing things I've got my eye on my son's old workboots to plant into - and maybe one of my grandson's little wellies 🌺
What a lovely idea to plant out his little wellies. They grow so quickly. It's nice to have reminders of when they were tiny. I think I'll borrow your idea if you don't mind and I'll be sure to give you the credit if I mention them in a future video. Thanks for taking the time to leave me such lovely feedback 😊.
Hi Diane, I love the way you have arranged all your pots. The courtyard looks beautiful. I think I need some more lime coloured plants, they make such an impact x
They certainly do Jennifer. Alchemilla Mollis is a very good one to use this time of year. Also Euphorbias are great. But I would suggest growing the Euphorbia in tubs, as they tend to try and take over borders and they look a bit scruffy once the flowers fade. If they are in tubs you can just hide them somewhere out of sight until the following spring. As always, thank you for your lovely feedback. Diane x
Hi Gary. I'm sorry but I don't. I've had a bit Google of different images but can't find one exactly like mine. I'll be going to an excellent garden centre in the next couple of weeks and if I see one there I'll be sure to let you know what it's called,
Hi Did I miss it? What happened to the big tree fern? I heard you say you damaged it last year accessing the outside tap, but i was expecting to see it at the other side of the court yard. Looks fabulous as always. Thanks for sharing. 🐞🌻🌱
🤣 Hi Jane. No, you didn't miss it. For a number of reasons I'll not go in to, my tree fern is currently trapped in my new greenhouse. It's half the size it was, but I missed the window of opportunity I had before it started growing and now I can't get it back out the door. It also weighs a ton! Didn't think that through enough! Thank you, as always, for your lovely words of support. Diane x
That looks so nice Diane with all the colour coordination. How do you repot your Acers as they are lovely. I seem to lose mine when I do it. People say don't increase the pot size by too much but I can see that you've gone bigger. Also what soil do you use please? Some say Ericaceous then others say multipurpose. Hope you've had a nice long weekend. We were washed out with all the rain but I gather that we're in for some lovely sunshine this week. Take care.
Hi Wendy. Some sunshine would be great. It's taken me two days of dodging showers to edge the lawn. In the end I gave up and just got soaked. Most of the Acers are just in normal multi purpose compost with added garden soil to give it weight and body. However, the big Acer beside the water feature is in regular garden soil. This is the link to the video where I transplanted him from the garden into a pot last year ulua-cam.com/video/9AqVj7r2PWI/v-deo.html. The rest have all been in the same soil for years and I feed them about once a month with liquid seaweed. 😊
@@thedown-to-earthgardener Thanks for that Diane. After I watched this video and commented, I remembered that you'd taken out the big Acer from the white garden so went back on your history and re-watched it. I should have told you! Thanks again Diane and have a lovely week. x
Hi there. I do leave all the big Acers in situ, but the ferns and Hostas tend to inflate in size very quickly and I have to move them round accordingly just to give them more space. I don't mind as It's great fun seeing all the plants growing 😀.
Beautiful looking garden and courtyard area, They are the bees knees.
Thank you and thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. It's much appreciated 😊.
