You two just get better and better! The Unclatious Grumpus Maximus antics whilst you were describing sunstar tips had me in tears as well as your ads for the workshop and the over the top enthusiasm. Favourite profanisaurus entries this week were photoboner, his Royal Sourness and Grumpton Airways. Cannot wait for your Scotland vlogs!
Things I've learned since watching your channel. 1. Bracketing & focus stacking 2. I don't use filters as much bar the 10 stopper and polorizer the odd time. 3. I found also that filters take the sharpness away a bit as my photos are so sharp since not using them. 4. My compositions have improved. 5. My editing is less and more natural 6. I get out more and look for hidden beauties around me, especially waterfalls. 7. I try to be a bit more adventurous with the types of photos I take, abstract, macro, seascapes, movement textures in water. So there, I've learned a lot from your good self and thank you for it. LOVE these rays you've captured here, stunning work as always.
@@fototripper And things I'VE learned from this channel: 1) I can't stop using the term "Trez mendous" 2) always keep shit tickets in the car. and 2) some photography stuff. also 7) my maths is getting better.
Great spot! That's part of the magic of a Landscape adventure because you never know what to expect until your gear is set up and it begins. That's what keeps us coming back for more. Thx Gavin 🍻
Im impressed by the starprescence of Adam Gibbs. He shows up around 03:50 and just steals the show. Gavin should of stopped talking and just honored the landscape photographer of the year like he deserves :)
i was at this location a couple weeks ago, during all the flooding in BC. and there was so much water that it looked absolutely nothing like this!!! Just a giant ferocious river wither fall. definitely going to have to re-visit during the spring !
Can I join even without bringing a camera - the humor is so good and I can say the images as well.... can’t wait to see the four heroes back together shooting and vlogging, that together already is juicelisious
Instructive and entertaining. You and Adam are among my favorites in large part because you never fail to give us some good advice. I'm truly looking forward to your vlogs from Scotland. Thanks for making the effort to help teach us to be better nature photographers.
Hmmmm, first, beautiful location and shots Gavin, going through your teachings old to new, super tips you give, thanks a million. Now u talked about Grumpy andd u becoming Grumpy Gavin, but then at the end it struck, Gnarly comes up, three G's Gnarly Grumpy Gavin, yeah, i think it fits :-)
When a photographer finds a sun beam or sun rays, it is definitely worth being excited about! That kind of beautiful lighting is something we don't see everyday! To see that kind of light is one of nature's beautiful treasures. :) You and Adam did a such beautiful job!
Always nice to see you two in the field together. Twice the videos, twice the juiciness. I always enjoy spending time exploring a new location when the light is that delicious and the subject matter so desirable. Great stuff! No over to Adam's video for part deuce.
Beautiful location and conditions. I very much enjoyed the 'abstract' image. It's always good to experiment and stretch the creativity even though it is hard to turn away from such an epic overall scene. Thanks for the entertaining content, keep it coming
I don't feeel neglected at all. While not stuffing your face in the camera might not be true to vloging, it is realy great to see you working. Pho tog channels are about the images and info, and you deliverd truck loads of both (with a bit of fun somtimes) thankyou.
Another amazing and entertaining video, Gavin. Uncle Grumpy videobombing you is just hilarious. Please keep up your studies on the Uncleous Grumpylaciuos! 😁 The world needs a better understanding of them shy beasts... 😀
Excellent episode! Very much enjoyed both your and Adam's perspective on this location, can hardly wait to drive down sometime next week. You two are definitely the Abbot and Costello of YT landscape photographers, you can fight over who gets to be who. Take care and thanks for sharing!
Another brilliant and hilarious video. I have had that location on my list of must shoot locations. I have found that 1/5 sec is turning out to be the sweet spot for me for the nicest water detail.
As the weather is warming up a bit in Scotland, be sure to bring plenty sunscreen. This should be liberally applied to the toned physique or lardy podge (as appropriate) - the midges like their meat well basted. Don't waste any coppers on seasoning - they cannot taste salt or pepper, only blood!
Just saw this one now but I can safely say, that both your good self and 'His Grand Sourness' (only joking 😂),are top of my list, when I watch Landscape Photography Vlogs 😆👍
I must say, I lichen this! 🙌. Is it not algae in the water? If Attenborough should retire I think you could take over. I mean, your in-depth knowledge of the eating habits of uncleus grumpeus!! Going to switch channel now and see if he got better shots, haha.
Hey, careful calling that bridge old there buddy. Did you see the great fern shots Adam got with the waterfall in the background? Very artistic. No wonder he’s an international award-winning landscape photographer.😂 In all serious, very nice shot of the waterfall (3:07) with the bridge background, just the right amount of smoothing of the water.
Gavin, great video. I really enjoyed it. I have a question on your video editing though. I have been looking or trying to figure out how to create, get the thirds effect you use. Both mostly the text version. Is that something you made or did you purchase it? If you made it, is there a tutorial someplace? I am brand new to PR and video editing. Thanks much.
Photo- boner.... Brilliant! You guys crack me up - love the banter. I could of swore I saw Uncle Grumpy giving you the finger in the background ;) Great work. I would love to do a workshop with you guys. Here's an idea! Fstoppers why don't you do a round the world photo shoot with Adam and Gavin - that would be pure entertainment :)
thank you for the explanation of how to get the light rays to show up better with longer exposures. that's one thing i was struggling with. Do you have any more tips on that subject in terms of the editing process to enhance light rays in photos? love your videos, especially the humor. potty humor or no, please keep the overall humor.
I think there were a few photogasms in your pantaloons. I also saw the lesser spotted grumpus-vibratus of the Nikonus variety was hovering around the periphery of your set piece to camera. Was it bad of me to want to see a grumpus headfirsticus into the river of light beams. Argh, maybe next time. If I’d been there I can safely say I’d either roll my ankle on those mossy rocks or end up going arse over tit into the water. At least I didn’t poke myself in the eye with the handle of a golf club as my friend just did this morning. It was so funny I pulled a muscle in my ribs.
Great vlog Guys... awesome info and bloody funny. What aren’t you running a workshop in Vancouver? I’m in the UK and I’m not spending £1500 to come to your weekend for 3 days. Do it properly and I’ll come, and so may others.... a week or even 2. Cheers Jason.
Sorry mate, I love your vlogs... and spending time with you guys leaning and practicing this craft would be awesome. A weekend isn’t long enough, a week with you and uncle grumpy would be fantastic!! Do a week and I’m in!! Cheers! Jase
