Dude. I want to feel bad for the ref because this is a tough game for just 1 guy. But those calls were awful. A card when you didn't even see the foul?? And the goalkeeper got the ball before contact with the player. Poor kids had there final ruined but idk I'm just a spectator
How do you know he didn’t see it? Because the coach said so? That was the correct call. Clearly got elbowed.
@@saie7151 blue player ran into the defenders arm the defender did not even fully extend his arms
@@saie7151 dude it’s on video the refs back was to the “foul” and no it wasn’t the correct call, dude in blue ran into him 🤦🏼♂️
@@hayleerue that is not on video at all. Stop lying. Ref blew the whistle right away. That was a clear elbow. You can’t be swinging your arms like that. That was an excellent call.
The foul on the goalie, and his overall performance…not so much.
@@saie7151 that was not even a call bro lol 😂 you’ve clearly never played soccer at all. Bro literally ran into dudes arm, dude wasn’t even swinging his arms 🤦🏼♂️and gaining position over someone while having your arm out to know where he’s at isn’t swinging your arms lol 😂
They may have won the game but blue was disgraceful in that victory and the whole internet gets to see it . That card for nothing leading to a goal is such a cowardly way to win the tournament … it’s terrible to have only one ref on the field and to call something that you never saw is ridiculous… they had video cameras should of checked and ejected the guy for flopping and faking
Call on the goalie tackling the player was wrong, but giving him the red for the glove throw was correct. Game should have had two refs for better angles
Yeah, that's a tough game for one ref
@@Mark823173 giving a card for not seeing something is garbage call tho regardless if hes just 1 ref
Ref was so ass
@@sowaveysuyat how do you know that he didn’t see it? Because the coaches and players said so? 😂
One is enough for a field this small
Gotta feel bad for 1 ref all alone to officiate a finals match. No way 1 ref can do a good job in such a chaotic environment.
One of the more entertaining vids lately!!!! Good footwork, lots of drama, keeper takes one to the face lol solid all around
The huge incident in the second half is actually quite interesting. Yes, the GK stuck out a leg, which ended up taking out an attacking player. But the GK was doing this to deflect the ball, which he succeeded in doing (and he got to the ball before the other player crashed into his leg). Yes, I have the advantage of watching it several times (from two angles), but I'd say that the call was an error.
Him getting the ball has zero to do with anything inthis case... the criteria is careless, reckless or excessive... (foul, yellow or red) he overshot the ball and stuck his leg out (way out) tripping the player... good call in my opinion.
@@mattmilburn9647 That's what makes this one so interesting. You see it as careless and/or reckless, while I do not. The reason why his getting to the ball is relevant is that, to me, is part of the evidence that it wasn't careless or reckless. Yes, the attacker was moving fast and ended up hitting the defender after the latter blocked the self-pass, but that doesn't change my mind. Otherwise, any time a player was attempting to get past you, all they would need to do is run and you wouldn't be able to block the ball.
@@jtm1283 Yeah I have the same perspective. Planting a single foot out, studs down, making significant contact on the ball and doing it before the other player makes contact with you is surely a fair tackle. Also in terms of danger, yes the other player is always going to trip over that leg but I feel like 99/100 they come away from that completely unscathed(red card for that response was completely called for though)
Clean touch by the keeper. Was only going for the ball and got it fairly. Tough call for the ref to make however.
I was curious about this too. Yes, his the attacking player fell over the keepers leg, but the keeper DID deflect ball FIRST... Should not have been called as a foul.. Correct? Idk how I don't know this lol
Oh my .. A 1-0 lead in a very tight and exciting game, and ref decides to go with a red on the CONESTOGA gk for tackling the ball. Wasn't able to make sense of the situation - did the ref explain why he saw that as a foul? I don't know what level this is at, but from the calls he made today, in a final, it seemed like there should have been another ref there, and maybe a more qualified 1st ref .. However, the coach from the CONESTOGA team should be applauded for his attitude in the situations where his team was penalized by poor ref decisions. Kept his cool, focused on getting his players away and seemed like a good guy.
😂 Anyone that has played the game before clearly can see that the GK has won the ball fairly. It’s a contact sport. The GK challenge wasn’t reckless, excessive or dangerous? For me the ref was awful 3/10 at best
20:16 Scott Sterling would be proud of this save.
facts
I don't even need to refer back to the vid... I know exactly what you're referencing and I had the same thought at the time 🤣🤣
It's their final and they can't afford a second judge? Shame that these talented lads were robbed a fair game.
Should of been 2 refs for this game .
bad calls from refs can ruin the game and also make it worse for the opposing team when a team is angry. ppl get hurt
The foul in the first half that led to the goal was pretty unfair. That arm/elbow was not enough for anything. The ref missing the entire thing and making that call was poor officiating. You can't call shit you don't witness.
The foul was an incorrect call however the red card was correct. Even though the ref was out of position and couldn't make the right call doesn't give you the right to scream, get in his face and throw your glove at him. Anger management classes would go a long way for that keeper.
Could have also been a red because the goalie was the last man. We’ll never know
I thought it was a clear foul. Emotions were just high at that point though
The way people treat referees is why we have a lack of quality. Imagine getting 50 bucks to get screamed at by people for an hour...it's not worth it. And the guy diving is the problem, not the ref.
Absolutely. They need to learn some basic respect, even when the ref makes the wrong call.
Respect to the referee. Good game
You can be right or wrong in the heat of the game. And the ref is only a human, so he can also make mistakes. But moments like this 19:40 really show the character
23 needed a Grammy for that acting
White teams coach needs to shut up. He’s not gonna change the call and he’s only making the ref not like him.
Totally a bad game from the ref, but that goalie totally overacted and let his anger take over😬
11:15 what a flop by the bald guy. Everybody hates floppers. Everybody hates that bald guy.
Wonder why there is a shortage of referees 🤷🏻♂️ (at least in my area)
How the hell did the ref get that tackle on the goalie so wrong 🤣🤣🤣 these woodbridge refs stink
Instead of complaining about a subpar referee why don’t you ask why a “high level final” adult game is given to only a single referee? Not even a dual? You put the referee is a difficult spot, he gets treated like crap as a result, he gets abused, he quits because he’s tired of the abuse, and now you have further fewer refs, who have to work undermanned games, and the cycle begins again.
College teams and whining kind of go hand in hand. Embarrassing by the coaches.
Refs fault
@15.09 great tackle by the keeper. Never a red card
Tony Montana still the best reff…
horrible call by ref. just horrible
As a ref. If I was at this game I would report that ref. He was just awful. He should not be in charge of a final.
23 on blue must have got caught by the draft coming through from the open door. That was the most dramatic dive I've seen in a while. Very sad..
23 drop like a fly by a hand brush. Hahaha,
Who is TMU It is GBC vs Conestoga College ?
YA we may have made a mistake with the names of the teams.. the schedule says George Brown College... the website says TMU
Wow......just.....wow
Wow that ref is bad. At the first penalty, when the attacking team player puts his arms on the goalie and shoved him, that is an automatic yellow. You don’t ever let a player do that to another team.
These player cry more than my 3 year old. Jesus
Anyone worried about the save where the keeper took the ball in the face?
This ref sucked man. The “elbowing a player” call he didn’t even see and the goalie clearly got the ball before contact so it shouldn’t even been called. Terrible ref
great tackle from the keeper, horrible call from the ref but even worse reaction from the keeper
Ya some of the calls were questionable - but they definitely need a second Ref for this size field. The coaches were also complaining about every little thing - as well as the people watching. The White team missed like 3 or 4 good chances, and defended poorly against Blue's goal. So personally I don't really think the yellow card (bad call) had much impact on the game.
This is George brown vs Conestoga. TMU is a university….not a college.
@IST cmon bro it says George Brown on their jerseys lol
@@sowaveysuyat lmao he saw the Ryerson colours and that was the end of it
@@sowaveysuyat AHH well the schedule said TMU

That was a terrible call but the red was justified
DUDE! NOT THE PROJECTILE!!
Bullshit call 15:42 goalie just touched the ball that was not foul. That doesn’t make sense and I understand goalie should have been extremely mad
What? bruh, that was a clear foul, no way its a clean tackle
You needed to show the video to the OCAA. LOL!
They’ll definitely see it….IST is a celebrity in the city 😂
Ref definitely made some horrible calls but come on blue team fair play or what?? Bad sportmanship and the game was handed to you.
The standard of refereeing on this channel is almost always awful, but this is the worst by a mile. I am livid watching it.
Ngl that was a bs call
Conestoga absolutely robbed this game. Such poor decisions from the ref.
Both coaches are disgraceful, especially of the white team. At half time, you motivate your players and get them ready for the 2nd one, not argue with the referee, regardless how wrong you think he is!
Terrible decisions. Keeper clearly got the ball which was his intention. Blue coach is a flog also.
embarrassing to watch how these players and fans and coaches act. no wonder we dont have good refs anymore.
Ref was horrible
I don't think this was a foul but he deserved the red and screwed his team further. The ref did a decent job throughout the game especially when both teams were screaming for every little touch
No he didn’t do a decent job at all. He was atrocious. The worst I’ve ever seen.
Yeah you’re smoking something I want nothing to do with, this is by far some of the worst refereeing I’ve seen on this channel. It doesn’t help that there was only one ref but he made some ridiculous calls. The red card was deserved for the actions of the keeper but there is no way he didn’t see the keeper made a clean tackle. This was a robbed match through and through, he was pretty one sided with his calls. That first blue card not sure why he gave it, he wasn’t facing the play, you can’t make a call you don’t see, I would be faking an elbow to the face every time he has his back turned if he’s going to keep giving those calls, which unfortunately resulted in a goal. It ruined the game entirely
@@cesarrios6822 how was the game stolen, the other team barely had any chances? As for the ref, he was better than most refs on this channel for sure, 100%
Ain’t no way these are college players?
Referee did a good job in this game. The white team where being A-holes, the foul at 17:45 was justified because of the extension of the leg of the keeper (which would probably be a blue card), you can't throw your gloves at the referee (red card), and the coach for the white team should have been ejected as well. The blue card earlier in the game was probably right or not right. If you don't see a foul from a referee's perspective, you probably should call it but is whatever on that. From the film, it looked a blue card, but I would have given a blue to each of the two players. Tough game, but a solid one. Just play, make the spectators and coaches shut up and play. Too many "Hey ref" calls from players and spectators which ruin the game.
Absolutely HORRIFIC officiating in this game. Reaction from the GK was completely understandable and the red was completely undeserved. Actions need to be made against this referee specifically. Unbelievable. Seen better in tykes house league officiating.
Just came here to say this is an awful representation of the beautiful game
Hey IST, do these refs in these videos know that they're available online for them to watch? These refs need to watch their perforrmance and GIVE THE DAMN CARDS. This is the main reason these games go out of hand. If these refs would BRING OUT CARDS these games would go so much smoother.
6:30: You can't give a foul or card on an assumption. Terrible practice.
8:50: Stopping a promising attack pulling down white attacker to stop him from getting the through ball. GIVE THE DAMN YELLOW
18:40: EASY YELLOW CARD late challenge. You see the foul, you've done the hard part, now GIVE THE DAMN YELLOW
How do you know he didn’t see the elbow on the first play?
Ref really blew this game
Heads completely gone
That was a 50/50 call I’d probably wouldn’t have ruled it that way.bc of him touching the ball first. But the keepers reaction didn’t help either
That wasn’t no 50/50 ball keeper got all ball but player threw himself into the keeper
Where the ref is located unfortunately it is a 50/50 call.
@@lonexwolf9448 lmoooo you need Sum glasses brother
@@alyxms5826 15:00 look where the ref is at. U would of made the same call. He was down far right with no view of him at the camera. I think u need some glasses and some logic my friend.
@@alyxms5826 also the keeper is out of his box. He no longer protected from those rules. Would of been completely different if he would of stayed in his box.
Sad carry on tbh ...very hard for reffs to get everything right.
The standard of referees in the majority of these videos are the reason I watch this channel… Great entertainment. They are beyond terrible, have no clue how to control games and love the limelight as if they know that they are being recorded and it’s going on the internet 😂
Bad call on ref.
He should not be reffing alone, maybe not at all
refs are always gonna suck...
These teams are pretty booty surprised this low of level at college
TMU are cheats. Hey Ref give yourself a red card too very unprofessional
As a ref, this game was tough to watch. He missed most of the calls in this clip...
The ref must hate that white team
#23 big bulky dude on blue, cmon bro u diving for that nonsense. how would you react if you caught a REAL elbow to the face?? step your game up man
Yea, goalie needed to go
Goalie played the ball clearly.
Not sure what the red card was for but I hope not for an dogso as clearly the ball did not go in the direction of the goal after the touch.
the red card was probably bc he threw his glove at the ref lmao
The referee must have received a big cheque from TMU
Too many favours to their advantage but the worst was the completely outrageous red card at 15:10.
So yes, the goalkeeper defends his leg and touches the defender, but it's clear that the goalkeeper's aim is to play the ball and not touch his opponent. So yes, there is contact, but for me there is never a foul. The red card is totally undeserved. What a shame. The referee is 2-3 meters from the action.
You can debate whether it's a foul or not, but the GK got the red for throwing his gloves at the referee, which is a send off all day long.
@@DoctorDer26 wrong….he had his hand in his back pocket right after the player got into his face, and touched him (likely swore at him too).
There can also be an argument made for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity, because the keeper was the last man.
The first blue card was bullshit
so much arguing… just play the damn game
You’ve never had a shitty ref then 😂 once the ref starts making bs calls just know the game is gonna get hectic
Ocaa footy getting worse
Referee did his job. Yes some bad calls but then again both are crybabies
I don't agree. Because the world is full of cry-babies, you cannot make a call based on who is on the ground writhing in (simulated) pain. The goal in the first half should not have happened, as argued by the Conestoga coach at halftime.
I agree I’m a referee and those calls well most were very bad. He lost control of the game quickly. Then again both sides were playing intense, and meaning by crybabies some just falling on contact. Either way ref did his job but very poorly
Falling over and crying out of the refs sight? And player Still gets penalty. Bogus shit.
@@jtm1283 100% the first blue card was a worse call then the 2nd... he didnt even see the first, its not like he looked at the player on the ground and he had a bloody face.. which would give reason to show a card...... while the 2nd u can argue it was hard to see if he could tell he won the ball or not
15:55 that was a brutal foul without a doubt a red card
you dont understand football evidently
That red card to the keeper was an absolute joke.
I mean, the red was for how he reacted not the fault xd
WDYM!!!!!! he threw something at the ref !?
The call was a joke , but the card was deserved 100%
Could have also been for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity since he was the last man. Either way, that wasn’t a foul
@@k0f3r ref had his hand in his back pocket before he threw the glove….
@@saie7151 I didn't notice that.. wish he waited before throwing the glove
I agree, bad call. Keeper got the ball FIRST followed by incidental contact. He’s also the bigger guy which made it look brutal, but wasn’t a foul IMO. Obviously the reaction warranted a red card tho. Good one IST per usual. 👍🏼
Edit: after viewing it a few more times (also from the other angle) I actually do think the keeper intended to play the ball, not the man. Do yeah, wrong call. I'll leave my original comment for transparency.
~~Original comment~~
The "getting the ball first" rule has been long gone from football, it's not longer relevant. Even if you get the ball first, if the tackle is dangerous (for example), it'll be deemed a foul.
In this case I think it was the right call, because the keeper didn't try to play the ball, he tried to block the player. Simply touching the ball is not enough (that was more luck than intent).
10 minutes into the game. Referee ruined the game. I dont mind who wins. Referee has spoiled the game.
one of the worst ref performances youre ever likely to see, Jesus
The keeper who threw his gloves at the ref should be banned from playing again.
