He went home after 1am that morning and returned the next day and ran 9.84 easily in the semifinals and returned a hour and a half later and ran 9.77 with an average start and only ran fully for 70m. He then started looking over at Oblique and the clock and totally shut it down with abiut 15m to go (coach's instructions). This is an extensive introduction to Kishane Thompson. Last year at the Jamaica national championships he ran only one race, the heats and ran 9.91 and did not report for the series because of injury. I'm not surprised that so many American youtubers and fans don't know about Thompson. I'm not surprised when they start to spread doping allegations either. Americans rarely know much outside of what their athletes are doing except for when other athletes start to do well against them. Many of them learn of other athletes by watching youtubers from other countries and reading comments from ppl from other nations. I remember Gail Devers on commentary during Worlds in Eugene and she didn't even know the names of the athletes from other countries. If that British broadcaster was not with her the coverage would have been an embarrassment for the sport at a Global Championships. So I'm not surprised that these guys don't know about Thompson or take the time to find out. Also because doping is such a big part of the US history in the sport don't be surprised when they label anyone who's doing well a doper.
