Many key events and facts are missed out by the speaker:
1. Kishore Biyani was ready to sell Future group to reliance when Reliance retail was announced
2. He was pushed to borrow more when Reliance refused to acquire Future group
3. The court case is not between Reliance and Amazon. Reliance agreed to acquire Future group in 2020 for Rs 25000 crore including the assets. Future group had divested their Future coupons business to Amazon for Rs 400+ crores. Now Amazon owns Future group's stocks and they have stopped Future group from selling to Reliance retail under the pretext that Amazon shareholders in the USA will file a class action suit should the value be less than the valuation under which Amazon acquired the stocks earlier and they can exercise the right to refuse as a stakeholder.
4. Future group did not sell the lease to Reliance as collateral. In fact Reliance has not paid any money to future group so far. Reliance signed all expired or leases under default with Reliance retail and took over several big bazaar outlets. Amazon added this to their suit too in Delhi high court.
5. Amazon owns part of More Retail which was sold by Aditya Birla group. This proves that foreign chains are allowed in offline retail too.
