Blade Runner 2049 might be the best movie of the past 10-20 years and I know already this film is going to dump all over all of that love and good will.

@@Reefer-Rampage69 the original blade runner is amazing but Villinueves vision in Blade Runner 2049 made it possibly my favorite movie since 2010.
Everyone's entitled to their opinions but the new one is a masterpiece, I would even be willing to argue that it is objectively even. I love it, I love the themes, I love the actors, the world that's built, everything.
That's why ikce it so much. It did everything the original did but better IMO, which also makes it one of the best sequels as well (tons of sequels suck unless planned, this is an exception).
So yeah. Love the first one but the second is better IMO. I respect the opinion if you disagree but Blade Runner 2049 has been stuck in my brain almost daily since I saw it and it's a masterpiece in my eyes.

Bladerunner 2049 is one of the few movies to end its story-arc satisfactorily.
There can be a sequel to it, but that sequel must include both Deckard and his daughter, and both as the main character’s. At least until a new surprise plot-twist arises in (probably) act 2.
But you have to tread so very carefully here that you don’t do what’s happened to the Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Witcher universes and totally destroy the world-building and Lore of those Universes.
That is why these stories, tales, alternative worlds, have such loyal fan-bases…because these world are all escapes and alternatives to the raw realities in which we all live day to day.
These worlds are our escape.
Once a world like with Bladerunner is established and has a loyal fan base, that world is now a reality, an escape, an alternative for a great many real people.
In short what Iam saying is: Don’t destroy the Cannon, the Lore, of the world in which you wish to play your story out in.
Oh, I'm sure your thesis has been duly noted and deeply considered. God help those who forego your vision.

Ridley Scott hasn't made a great movie in years, and is clearly trying to make as much dosh as he can while his name still carries weight. Napoleon tanked, Gladiator 2 is gonna bomb big time! So now old Ridley thinks surely there's a few quid left in Blade Runner. What next American Gangster 2?? Thelma and Louise: The Resurrection??

Pretty sure this channel and a few others have a bad habit of mashing and editing clips from other movies and just tacking a new title on it to get everyone's hopes up only to watch them crumble...
Recent one before this, though on a different channel, made a video where it was supposed to be the trailer to a new Live Action Pokemon that apparently picks up where Detective Pikachu left off, with roughly 99% of the scenes it showed being ripped straight from the Detective Pikachu movie and just edited slightly.
Eventually AI will take over and we'll just slap some prompts in and choose a duration for the movie and Viola, new 34 hour long movie produced in 30 seconds.

Ok. Well it's going to work as a production. But I had hoped that Ridley would do a Blade runner adaption with upcoming great actors. I'm kind a Tired of constantly see the same actors in so many things. It's a miss mass.. and No they're great actors.
Ridley did that with blade runner 1 which is one of the greatest thing about it..
Anyways I'm going to watch it with pleasure.but there is a chance that it will fall flat.

We didn't get a hero's journey in 2049. We got a zero's folly.
A story must be about a person pursuing their own destiny, not about a side character to other people pursuing their destinies. This is why no movie follows around one of the extras while the hero is off doing stuff and only interacts with the extra tangentially.
At the very least, your main character has to be making their own choices -- they can't be the hapless accidental agents pushed by others into every avenue upon which they find themselves.
What's even worse is for the character to discover, at the end, that they were merely a dupe and of no particular special place in the world. If you're going to do that, the reveal needs to be in the middle of the film and we need to see our hero begin to shape his own destiny.
As the story unfolded, it was all setup and no payoff. The reveal doesn't have the feeling of an ironic twist. It was more like a deflating balloon flaccidly farting as it flatulates its final odoriferous ignominy.
The Maguffin was the main character of the film -- and they weren't even onscreen that long. If your POV isn't the actual main character, then your POV had better be adjacent to them because that's where the stakes are highest.
This is why BR 2049 was a wet rubbery one. They didn't raise the stakes, they lowered them. The character we followed throughout was an expendable decoy and could've been any other anonymous replicant of that world with implanted memories.
And any movie where Jerad Leto is cast as a genius has a fool for a director. There's suspension of disbelief but give me a break.
I'm sure it will be woke crap.
