On the Pick-Up header on the harvester, the two green rollers you see on the very front are called 'Crop Rollers' these basically push down and flatten out the row of grass to take away the 'Hump created by the rake, the rollers are Hydraulically adjustable. This will then feed in a flatter row grass to the 'Auger' it then is designed to rotate and bring all the crop into the centre of the header where it will then feed into the harvester. Grass can sometimes wrap around the auger in a few different situations, Young sticky grass will stick around it and continue to gather, Longer grass will wrap around it like rope and tie into knots. The auger can then lift up if there is too much crop either around it or going under it, you may also hear the banging of the 'Feed Rollers' opening up wider and closing again when there is say a lump of grass going through them as well ;)

Heidi is fantastic. She works hard, pays attention, has a go at anything and she's funny, she's got the measure of you Tom. I see nothing but great things in her future.
who else saw the sheep that had escaped when they started raking lol.
Have you ever thought about putting a tree where it gets really swampy in your fields. I saw a post the other day saying if you need to get rid of water plant a tree. Could put a fence around it untill it grows stronger
“The grass beats it’s self off”
Tyfs! I learn something every time your videos are posted! Much appreciated! It lessens my homesickness! I was farm raised until i had to move to an apt to be caretaker for my mom and her sister. Seeing all your hard work and planning, makes me wonder how we got it all done! The conclusion ive made is, your heart and soul has to be in it or youre horribly behind! God bless!
Crazy amount of work! Thank you!
My 2 year old son is binge watching your channel. He is obsessed with farms. Nice vlogs
Love the grass videos, Tom. Good music, good jokes, lol! It's great watching power machines churning through it. (Not the mud, tho). Amazing.
Oh Tom, my heart goes out to you and the ginger warrior for the damage to your fields during harvest.. That made me cry..
Love the drone shots with the hype music, always gets me pumped!
Go Heidi!!! You're tiny... tyres are
Watching this after work brought a lot of joy to my heart, not even a farmer or even living close to a farm but I love watching you it’s so interesting 🧐 on what really goes on
Some crop of grass boys the cattle are not going to be hungry this winter. Great video and great drone shots.
Love the conversations with your dad so good! Thanks for the video
Tom,
I love watching this process. I'm delighted to hear that next year we can go in the cab with Stuart and watch this from his cab ( you said it Tom so it has to happen even if I do have to wait such along time!! ) It was also great to put a face to his name too. * waves to Stuart*
We all love when you getting the chopping done. Here’s to hoping it makes some good stuff, well done all
The Avengers of Farming! (Loved the drone shot of all the tractors heading to the field) Team work makes the dream work!
