    I was heartened to hear, "These positions are not as straightforward as they seem." It's horrible when you are in a winning position with huge pressure on the king with numerous pieces but you can't find the combo to do it and, at least in my case, stuff it up!

      @@Kokurorokuko not sure what you being 1600 has to do with anything-analyzing without an engine is valuable for beginners like yourself all the way up through magnus level because it forces you to really think about the position and form your own conclusions before verifying with the engine

    • @crazyboysince1998
      @crazyboysince1998 2 роки тому +1

      What do you mean you can't benefit from it because you're 1600 haha. Dude anyone can analyse their games I'm not sure if your trying to act like being 1600 is too high rated or if you're saying you're too low rated. But I'm 1350 and always analyse my games it definitely helps. At 1600 I'd imagine there would be even more interesting things to analyse than there would be in my games and then it gets more interesting the higher rated you get. Chess like life is about learning from mistakes and that's what analysing your game does tbh

  • @joeb7495
    @joeb7495 2 роки тому +2

    He did blunder partially because of pressure. But there is also the fact that playing openings like the french don't develop much tactical awareness as you will typically get closed games where correct moves are often subtle and rely on strategic ideas rather then tactical lines. You can find evidence in the opponents unwillingness to play into anything outside of his precious setup by seeing his response to Nf3 not taking the pawn, as that would open up the position more and he simply can't handle playing those kinds of positions.

    Really nice to see how an engine can be used to see really interesting stuff even at a high level, like GM Danya’s.
    For a newbie like me I hope to use one to help me look at my basic mistakes but also to understand some gotchas that lead to yuckiness. Tried watching videos about how to use an engine properly but, well, suffice it to say I wish GM Danya would make one showing how beginner, intermediate and advanced players could best leverage this technology.🙏🤞

    The engine is ruthless. Sometimes the engine suggests moves that look bad, and those moves are the most dangerous, because our first instinct is to ignore the bad move and continue with our ideas. The final line woth Be3 was insane and would result in any player below 1800 falling for it

    1:30 I don't get how "black is not well developed" after Bxc5. He has 2 pieces developed (Bishop and Knight on c6) and a solid pawn structure while whites pawn on e5 is not defendable by another pawn .

    • @vidarhagevi2766
      @vidarhagevi2766 2 роки тому +1

      I agree that he might have phrased that badly. The point is more that black is awkwardly developed. More specifically how the queen and bishop is placed to be vulnerable to na4. Also the dark squared bishop is very locked in, and it can be very costly to lose the dsb in a french structure.

  • @thethinker3888
    @thethinker3888 2 роки тому

    If I had these positions I think I would play c3 to kick the knight instantly. I can go for the attack but if I miscalculate and my attack fails, Nxc2 wins material and I will probably lose, thus I usually choose the safest no-risk approach. Of course Danya calculates everything and goes for the attack directly lol

    One thing I do when I’m in a super losing position is instead of resigning I just give away the checkmate. It’s kind of a little gift for my opponent. It’s like me saying, “okay you got me. You played better than me this time. Here you go”
    Maybe wasn’t the case here but it might explain some of these other late game “blunders”

    This is how the games for these ranks should look like. The opponent made solid, human moves.
    The notion of players below 2200 outplaying Danya in the opening because "it's all theory" or "all moves were logical" is ludicrous.
    This was a textbook example of a legit game where Danya's opponent has a vague idea of the theory & healthy moves but still never puts Danya in trouble because he doesn't understand chess beyond that superficial level.

    • @lonewolf6327
      @lonewolf6327 2 роки тому +3

      There are plenty of players at that level who knows the basic theory of their openings, myself included. There was a stream, where even a SuperGM Karjakin played against some friend who was 1900 and was outplayed in the opening, because that 1900 had some theory prepared in the Najdorf, but he completely collapsed in the middlegame when that theory ran out. To say that even a player like Danya can't be outplayed in the opening against a prepared opponent is ignorant and Danya would disagree with you as well.
