Sorry I can only post in a reply, don't know why? Thanks for doing the F-6 I have one and it worked perfectly in my 2010 Silverado, but in my dad's 2006 Yukon. It won't recognise it. I am taking it to the dealership to make sure the OBD is the right one!
I've never really seen anything as good as these reviews and it really helped me make a choice between HUD models. As age is causing me to use glasses for driving, but I have trouble reading the display while concentrating on the road ahead. I personally was worried that the larger display would be too distracting, so I bought the X5 which has proved to be an excellent choice, thank you!
This is my favorite hud you reviewd so far because the refresh rate is very high with the rpm and speed, and the display only shows the vital information you need you see. The other huds have gimmicky displays, poor refresh rates, and theres waaaay to much distracting info
I was surprised how good this is. I didn't even need to use the thing you put on your windshield. Mine works perfect right out of the box. Didn't bother with film on windshield. Also works great even in bright sun. Keeps your eyes on the road. Update after one day of use it won't even power on. Maybe can't be used in cold climates? Another up date its working ok again Another update not working on startup again. Seems to delay coming on not sure if it because port doesn't send power right away or not
Very helpful video. The instructions which came w the device don't provide a step by step install - especially placing the window film - the video helped explain the procedure very well.
I have one of these and the included instructions were a complete joke (a very unfunny joke) Thanks for taking the time to go through all the menus. Made setting up simple.
one thing to note. If you set the water temperature to Fahrenheit, the middle bar will go all the way up. Better to change to Celsius so that the bar will not reach to the max.
I know this products . the quality and using effect is not good , it is not visible in the daytime . come to me and i show you the best products . we are the head up display manufacturer in SHENZHEN China . come to me , i give you better price USD13.50/PCS FOB SHENZHEN . and better products . my skype is yuxiang_xie, cell phone no is : 0086-13500050696 , whatsapp : 008613500050696 . email : michael@szef.com
thanks for the instructions. my techometer reader above the speedometer wasn't on. it just showed the mph. after watching your video i realized that if i go into 5 and press down it will pull up the techometer meter
Why would anyone dislike this? Great video man! I just wanna know if there's a way to make it larger by moving it backwards or getting a bigger reflector!?
Thank you for the instructions. I found it on offer on eBay for £9.99 and I gave it a try just for that reason; It is better than I expected but the manual is not a model of clarity, I managed to turn off the alarms but I could not access the menus to change to Mph etc..

Just got the GiiNii branded version of this unit from the Wal-Mart clearance aisle. It should be noted that this is for CAN bus vehicles ONLY. The only showing voltage thing means either your vehicle isn't CAN or the device is broken. There are no electronics in the OBD port end and the only pins with wires connected besides power and ground are CAN (6 and 14) and ISO 9141-2 (7 and 15). I tried it in an ISO 9141-2 vehicle (1997 Dodge Intrepid) and it wouldn't connect but the scrolling temperature bars did occasionally stop. This unit is also incorrectly using a USB mini B connector by passing direct vehicle 12v and not regulated 5v. DO NOT try to plug in anything actual USB. Edit/update: I took apart the device itself and it appears only 3 of the 5 USB pins are connected and the shield is being used as ground. Pin 1 which is supposed to be 5v power is 12v, pins 2 and 3 which are supposed to be D- and D+ aren't connected, pin 4 which is supposed to be the ID pin is one CAN pin and pin 5 which is supposed to be ground is the other CAN pin.
Thank you very much for that comment :) Is there any way to tell if my car or any of our cars has CAN bus available? I have got a 2006 Toyota Aygo so i seriously doubt it.
Google search for an image of the OBD II data link connector so you know which pins are for CAN then physically go and look in your cars to see if those pins are present. Usually if a protocol isn't used the pins won't be there either and so will be empty.
That reflective film makes it hard to see through to see the road. Have you tried the HUD in an area without the reflective film to see if it can still project onto the windshield?
Never had that go off, just the room and you can turn that off, you can also just disable the speaker like I did! I just got one to out in my work truck when the gauge was out and it was good for $10... The one in my car is over $1200 for a replacement, you can only ask for so much out of this, but just open it and disconnect the speaker, you will never need it...
very nice review..i think i'll be taking this .. i like it be cause it doesn't look like a cellphone left on the dashboard that may attract other people not like the 5.5 inch...thank you...hope you make more reviews..
Bought x5 hud now install properly then i notice the check engine icon appear so i unplugged the x5 HUD then go to battery unplugged for 5 minutes to refresh the system , thank God nothing happened to my car Avanza gen3 2017mdl , any technical explanation and it safe to used or not
i brought one of these units watched your utube viedo and i pluged it in to the OBD 2 port then other end in to unit started the car and it would not move of volts just stayed on that screan just waiting to hear back from the person on ebay i woulnt think its that hard to set up tried it on our other car that is OBD 2 all so same thing just stayed on volts
Hi. What a brilliant review. I have a 1999 SAAB 9-5 2.0L turbo. I just received my unit today. I powered it on BUT it won't move out of the voltage display. +norincobro i had the same problem with my 13 tacoma. what fixed it for me was making sure the connections on both sides are clean and secure. start ur car and wait a few seconds and the volts should switch over to the rpm and speedometer.
Thank you for the beautiful and well crafted review. From your memory, do you recall if you are able to completely turn off the chime for passing a certain RPM? Maybe I missed it in your video. Thank you.
Hey Dial, great video as always.. Have a question, I watch your review on the a8 model and noticed that this model x5 seems to be much more responsive and quicker to show the information as the a8 lagged behind on updating the speed and this one didn't... Which one do you think is the better purchace?? Thanks.
+Samp Videos This 3" does seem to update a bit quicker. Me personally, I like this 3" one because it's very compact and gives me speed/rpm which is all I really need while taking up very little space on the windshield. Of course the A8 has cool factor with its colorful display and provides a bit more information. Guess it comes down to your personal preference.
Hi. Excellent review + explanations. I have this HUD too, and everything works fine. But still I have one question, do You know what is a temperature when water temperature alarm will start to beep, and is it adjustable? Thank you.
just installed x5 on my mph speed the x1000rpm is not lit while on driving and the 4 red warning at the bottom of the bar is also lit compare to urs that only 2 are showing
Hello I have the HUD presented in the review. It function fine, but when I drive, it just start to beep display Volts it lasts about 10 sec, after it starts beeping, and flashing V line, than displays the main display. How can I turn that OFF ? ALso how can I lower the beep sound >? Thank you in advance
I have the exact same one but it won't read my speed it just keeps blinking when I first turn it on it shows me the voltage and then when I go to the miles per hour it just keeps blinking and it shows 0
Since this seems to be the number 1 place with info about the X5, I got one hint and 2 questions: Hint: hold the rocker switch up to mute most alerts (e.g. rpm) and also hide the speaker column in the display. Question 1: On the Autobahn, it sometimes beeps (even when muted) and displays the voltage (14.0 V) for a while. I guess my car battery is getting old and over-charging while driving at very high speeds. Is there a way to make that stop? Question 2: My girlfriend seems to have a newer unit than mine, there's an extra menu step where all the numbers above the rpm bar are lit. What does that menu do? Thanks!
The stick on panel does not polarize the reflection, so turning it will not affect the polarity of the reflected image. If you could experiment with that, it would be most appreciated. Maybe video the HUD image in normal operating position, and then move a polarized lens in front of the camera. I'm guessing that the HUD image will be significantly attenuated; perhaps enough to make it unusable.
Have bought me the HUD. How can I turn off the alarm? The problem is, when I start my car, coming immediately after the voltage check the speed alarm. After this alarm all works without problems. What could be wrong?
hold the rocker-switch up for a few seconds. Then the bar-diagram with the speaker on the bottom will turn off. I do still get over-voltage alarms when pushing the engine hard and the battery going over 14V. Guess I should get a new battery one of these days.
hello, I have a problem since it does not turn automatically , I do it manually and alert voltage problem , indicates 5.5 v and should be about 12v , any ideas? Thank you
Two issues.. The cable is flat. A round cable would be more easily routed and compact. 2. I've used a OBDII scanner before and there is So much more info that can be gained than what these show. I think the way for these types of devices will be a cell phone and app with much more feature rich information such as actual water Temps and selectable gages and layouts. I've seen many of your reviews, and I think you do a good job, but the devices themselves are limited. I see something in each design that I like and other things I don't. With an app, you can bring in those features you like more and leave the others you don't out.
broderp I didn't :p you're talking about apples and oranges. they're both fruits both come off a tree but are different and different people like them. There is an app that you wifi/Bluetooth connect your phone to an obd ii scanner (torque I think) and you can program it to act as a hud. it has the whole reverse screen and all. The kicker is you gotta mess around with Bluetooth, programming the app, running your phone's battery down, plugging your phone into the car charger etc. Then every time you need to take your phone you gotta reposition it etc. even if it were a programmable device you'd still have to mess with it via your phone or whatnot. That's oranges. Some people don't mind going through the extra work to get to the fruit. on the other hand, some people just want to bite in to an apple. Plug in a device, one plug, maybe set up the mirror or what have you once and never think of it again. That's what this guy is reviewing.
I know this is an older video, but, it seems MANY people that buy and install the (X5-F6) unit, the one this video covered, are VERY unhappy with it. Is it because their car cant support the OBDII plug in? OR is it just junk? I see it for sale at WalMart now, for $23. I only want the speed readout, so this would be great. But is it junk, or just people that don't read the manual or watch the video closely to set it up right? Dont want to waste my time on junk. I will buy a more expensive unit, if I must, to get it right the first time. But I only really care about the speed readout. Can always put black tape over the other 'read-outs', and block them anyway. So...is it junk, or is it worth the time/money.....anyone???
I bought the x5 and set the speed alarm (number 3 on menu) to a 100 value. The default value was 120. I drove the car at 75mph and the alarm did not sound. Could you tell me about where that number should be to equal 75 mph driving speed?
Hi friends how are you I bought this device recently. I'm having a problem with my device. When I'm driving, my product has changed to battery information, but I'd like to keep up the speed information. I could not keep the speed information for a lot of time. Can you help me?
Sandman® lol I'd be pissed, I hit up to 9k but on average I'd say 5k so either way I'd have to do something about that! (like cover the speaker with tape)
+Carlos F The manufacturer just gave me the Amazon link: www.amazon.com/Aootek%C2%AE-Display-Interface-Speeding-Warning/dp/B01939IK6O/ref=sr_1_9?m=A1W53CYGIR4IFN&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1449626882&sr=1-9
Can you tell me the name of the manufacturer? I'd like to contact them to ask for a list of settings. Perhaps there is a list to go with vehicle year make/model. thank you
seriously is there any aftermarket HUD like this that can read up to about 10k rpm? my car reaches 9.4k rpm so it would be nice to have a HUD that can display my full range or rpm
Thanks for our amazing review and Here's the link of the product on amazon: www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Speedometer-OverSpeed-Interface-Compatible/dp/B01A0SO6Q0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1461422564&sr=8-2&keywords=OBDII+Car+Head+Up+Display+KMh+%2F+MPh+Speedometer
DON'T buy this, mine has a very POOR REFRESH rate and when I accelerate it takes it 3 seconds before it shows the correct speed and when I am stationary it is still showing a speed of 5mph for 3-4 seconds. Avoid this rubbish! If anyone knows if software can be updated some how please let me know as it is pretty useless at the minute.
i brought one of these units watched your utube viedo and i pluged it in to the OBD 2 port then other end in to unit started the car and it would not move of volts just stayed on that screan just waiting to hear back from the person on ebay i woulnt think its that hard to set up tried it on our other car that is OBD 2 all so same thing just stayed on volts

Is it possible to only have the speed and rpms without the lights in the bottom left?
thanks for this review fantastic instructions, man you're a boss have a nice day, from france.
nice video, especially about the adjustment part
+lizhi jiang Thanks for your comment!
just ordered one can the alarm be outright disabled?
thank you for the review, only one online with these type of details,
Hi!! The alarms of RPM and Speed can be deactivated???
amazing review, answered all my questions. cheers
is there any way to disable the alarm for when you go over the speed limit?. that would drive me crazy.
Never had that go off, just the room and you can turn that off, you can also just disable the speaker like I did!

I really appreciate this review. Are you aware of any with a shift light? That would be much better than an alarm.
very nice review..i think i'll be taking this .. i like it be cause it doesn't look like a cellphone left on the dashboard that may attract other people not like the 5.5 inch...thank you...hope you make more reviews..

Hi.
What a brilliant review.
I have a 1999 SAAB 9-5 2.0L turbo.
I just received my unit today.
I powered it on BUT it won't move out of the voltage display.
I have followed all the instructions as well as I can considering the English is not so good.
I have gone thru all the settings menu.
From their 'problem solving page', it seems that my OBD2 is not compatible with this F6 unit.
Would you agree.
Can I somehow fix it.
Thanks in advance.
Thank you.
+HealthyJoeful I believe you can turn off the alert by holding the rocker switch down for 5 seconds to turn it off.
So, Out of the ones you have done, Witch do you like the best
Nice review, only essential as usual. Thanks!
+Voka Duss Thank you!
looks good. is the speed from the connection of the car, or is it from GPS.
Man I thank you
Your reviews are very well done and informative. They've helped me a lot. Thanks!
whats the best hud unit you recommend right now?
Thank you.
Sorry I don't remember for this unit.
In general, 100 celcius its the máximium healy temperature
awesome video and exquisite unit
just installed x5 on my mph speed the x1000rpm is not lit while on driving and the 4 red warning at the bottom of the bar is also lit compare to urs that only 2 are showing
Thanks man!! That was super helpful
Good thing for Opel/Vauxhall Astra of Corsa, since they don’t have coolant temp gauge.
Bojan Konjevic did you find a fix?
I have the same problem, when i drive the display change to volts and turn off and back to speed.
All mine does is show voltage. It doesn't display anything other than that. Even when I press enter it stays on voltage
how did you get it to stop displaying voltage, my car is OBD2 certified, i found the sticker in my engine compartment.
2003 olds. alero
keithbu did you find a fix?
Doomid 23 did u?
nope
I am having the same problem in my 2006 Pontiac grand prix gt
Read very carefully at the seller site, it wont support _European / American cars manufactured before 2003 or Asian cars manufactured before 2007._
my unit keeps going back to volts and doesnt hold the speedo how do i make this work please
I see the tachometer only reads to 7k, my redline is higher than that. What would happen?
Does this model have the fastest refresh rate?
Could you cut the tint down to match the smaller size
+konic40 You can cut it if you want as it's plastic film. Just use a very sharp scissors so the edge will be clean cut.
I have the exact same one but it won't read my speed it just keeps blinking when I first turn it on it shows me the voltage and then when I go to the miles per hour it just keeps blinking and it shows 0
How to remove sounds that are heard at 13:44 and 13:53?
cool product...
Since this seems to be the number 1 place with info about the X5, I got one hint and 2 questions:
Hint: hold the rocker switch up to mute most alerts (e.g. rpm) and also hide the speaker column in the display.
Thanks!
Hamachingo u ever find out what was tripping your voltage ?
How is this during the day with polarized sunglasses? Can you still see the display, or does it get blocked by polarized glasses?
+Mike Pepper
Hi.
To view with polarized sunglasses, just rotate the windscreen film 90 degrees.
Why does this set off my check engine light and oil temp on my dashboard?? Please help?
Can the beep be muted
for vehicles in china airbag reset?
Will this work on a 1998 corvette??
Final update I'm sending it back . This unit for me only worked when temperature was above about 0 Celcius
It's like $10-$15 including tax, the one built into my car is $1200! You can't expect these cheat things to be as good as a built in HUD...
Thank you
+schizoxxx Sorry I have not seen that problem before.

Its not supposed to be an obdii scanner, its like your dashboard pretty much. Its designed to be limited for what it displays.
foreckbs You completely missed my point.
broderp I didn't :p you're talking about apples and oranges. they're both fruits both come off a tree but are different and different people like them. That's what this guy is reviewing.
foreckbs There's no reason for them to be different. One app could do both functions. Or two apps in the same phone.
+Rick Tanguay I am not sure exactly, but you can try to lower that value even more. Try 50 and see what speed it alerts you at.
Thanks, When I lowered it to 50, the alarm went off at about 50mph. Thanks for the help!
I bought one, rpm' s but the MPH does not work. 😢
do one for the nissain pathfinder

+Pyro Heart Yes, it's a nice compact unit.
the product is good.
Hi friends how are you
I bought this device recently.
I'm having a problem with my device. When I'm driving, my product has changed to battery information, but I'd like to keep up the speed information.
I could not keep the speed information for a lot of time.
Can you help me?
Hi Alcides, I have the same problem. Did you have it fixed?
How can i reset it ?
The 3" screen and 7K RPM tach isn't working for me.
default rpm alarm is at 2500, wtf, i redline all effing day long !!!
Sandman® lol I'd be pissed, I hit up to 9k but on average I'd say 5k so either way I'd have to do something about that! (like cover the speaker with tape)
can u change the alarm to a diff rpm?
@@abidmenezes1227 Video shows how

+Carlos F I am working with the manufacturer to get more information on this. Stay tuned.
+Carlos F The manufacturer just gave me the Amazon link: www.amazon.com/Aootek%C2%AE-Display-Interface-Speeding-Warning/dp/B01939IK6O/ref=sr_1_9?m=A1W53CYGIR4IFN&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1449626882&sr=1-9
Thank you so much for getting back to me with the information
Can you tell me the name of the manufacturer? I'd like to contact them to ask for a list of settings. Perhaps there is a list to go with vehicle year make/model.

seriously is there any aftermarket HUD like this that can read up to about 10k rpm? my car reaches 9.4k rpm so it would be nice to have a HUD that can display my full range or rpm

i have the a8 hud unit great device for $ 45.00 on amazon
I had one of these and it was always beeping.
Nice video, but I won't buy it because of so many user complaints, not reliable.
Mine has not that great refresh rate and it’s the same
mine also has a rubbish refresh rate, sometimes I have slowed and am stationary and it still shows 5mph! Is there any software update ???
Zed Kashmiri are you from India and you bought from amazon??
just bought one but resets every 15 seconds...
you can then post your apology...
Thanks for our amazing review and Here's the link of the product on amazon:
www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Speedometer-OverSpeed-Interface-Compatible/dp/B01A0SO6Q0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1461422564&sr=8-2&keywords=OBDII+Car+Head+Up+Display+KMh+%2F+MPh+Speedometer
Мне вот этот нравится ali.pub/tozjx
DON'T buy this, mine has a very POOR REFRESH rate and when I accelerate it takes it 3 seconds before it shows the correct speed and when I am stationary it is still showing a speed of 5mph for 3-4 seconds. Avoid this rubbish!
If anyone knows if software can be updated some how please let me know as it is pretty useless at the minute.
Does this show fuel level? please adv
No it doesnt
i brought one of these units watched your utube viedo and i pluged it in to the OBD 2 port then other end in to unit started the car and it would not move of volts just stayed on that screan just waiting to hear back from the person on ebay i woulnt think its that hard to set up tried it on our other car that is OBD 2 all so same thing just stayed on volts
