Something for hipster flexing. It's not really practical if it doesn't fit in average cup holders and what if you have to leave it in your car on a hot scorching day say on a shopping trip? Also the type of people that could really use this are health conscious and probably doing some kind of activity or exercise. This means hikes, running and gyms. That means it needs to be able to stand up to a few feet drop and be waterproof. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it's $150 plus the pods. Maybe there are those who will genuinely love it. Great video as always.
it's water, with some flavoring, and that is, it does not even fizzle your drink like the bubble machine. Youa re essentially paying 150 usd for a fancy syrup mixing machine. and 10 serving for 12 dollar ? what ? you can buy one of those metallic syrup dilluent thingy for 4 dollar that give you nearly 50+80 servings. This is definitively a stupid gadget for either gullible people and those who have too much money and doesn't know what to do with it.

It’s a pretty impressive device I’ll admit, but $150 seems rather steep for this, plus getting refills for those pods for the length of time you have it. But also the amount of water it holds seems limited, and for the cost I don’t know if I could justify that.

I can see this being use to blend alcoholic drinks, with the pods being filled with alcohol. Makes it fast and easy to mix different types of drinks; just select the recipe from the app(as long as the bottle has the types of alcohols needed for the blend) and shake!
Consumption tracker: some might find useful to know how much. water they are drinking per day Real time liquid display: nonsense. Nutritional value interface: useless. Two things that were nice to see, but can also be solved with on-bottle displays and button usage: dosage tracking and programmed mixes. Use the included leds to show or at least estimate the number of charges (either those leds around the pods or the 3 lamps around the button) and use 2 or 3 buttons to program mixes.
Eventually one day this is how they will do it at restaurants, planes, hotels, etc. you get a big bottle and use an app that instantly makes the drink you want and charges your account. Lol
If you're camping: This weighs more, requires charging, holds half as much water. Awful. If you're at home, work, etc: Just get a regular water bottle and a regular drink mixer. Stuff like Mio is much cheaper per serving and works fine. As an added bonus, regular water bottles have a bunch of optional features (e.g., you can get an insulated water bottle, a dishwasher safe waterbottle, a spillproof water bottle, etc.) Admittedly, using this water bottle gives you more smart features. However, even if it was $30 and $5/mixer, I would still stick with a normal water bottle. It remains a mystery to me why people feel the need for a smart water bottle.
I mean the idea of getting 90 drinks that are basically water and being able to track of much I consume is amazing. The price is not but it would be a need for me specially for my workout
To be honest, it's just jamming an Arduino and a dispenser into a water bottle. It's barely more complicated than a flashlight with an Arduino attached to it to tell it when to switch on.
Yeah, like... we got some notification on when we are lacking the water too (Too bad it's going away the older we are, old people tend to forget to drink and get dehydrated)

Wow... everyone hating on this and I am geeking out!!! Next move is checkout the website for list of flavors, order it and while waiting for it to arrive come up with a diy cup holder adjuster to fit it in my car. I am totally serious!!! I have so much trouble getting myself to drink enough water. The dehydration leads to headaches, muscle cramps and lack of energy. So yeah a fun and tasty way to get the job done is worth the price. Plus an intake journal to share with my doctor, priceless!!!!
I saw this yesterday morning thinking I'd just get a laugh out of such an expensive water bottle. I placed an order shortly after watching the review and it just so happens that I live close to Reston, VA (where they ship from) and my order arrived this afternoon! Thanks for the honest reviews.
They should have put a temperature sensor in there. Temperature sensors are relatively simple devices.I think they would sell a lot more with that ability. Also it would be neat to track the temperature on the app. That way one knows exactly when to take it out of the fridge or cooler.
As a software developer they've really did a great job with their app. Most apps for gadgets are just useless and have no additional functions and look terrible. This one is really well done.
You've outdone yourself with this one. I agree about the geek factor. This is probably the most impressive gizmo I've come across all year. Seldom does something as complex ever launch out the gate so polished and complete. Excellent video and product!
I want to know what the sweetener is. I have trouble with aspartame (migraines) and others might too have problems with certain sweeteners. Cup holder is a big issue. Would like a way to carry it too (or option). I like to use a sip straw rather than taking off a cap, and recapping each time (hard when driving) so optional caps might be added to the box. Great review-convinced me to move along.
Not bragging, but I make $36/hr and there's no way in hell I'd spend that much money on this. I have been getting nicer things since I got this job but $150 and possibly $100-200 a month is still a lot.
I wonder what the durability of the 2 outer casings is, as there is nothing to carry it by. For a product to have that price tag at minimum should have something to carry it.
This product is great and has almost no down sides and the only real down side there is you inadvertently fix in time, because we come here for your tests and opinions and have come to hold your opinion to a high standard so you saying a product is good persuades many of us (myself included) to buy the item, and with higher sales the company can afford to produce more pods and sell them for cheaper
My question is: Why? Just carry one of those water flavor things with you and drop it in when you want a drink. This perplexes me just as much as the Juicero does.
the reason is to give off big dick vibes to all the poor saps drinking out of 20 cent water bottles with thier cheap flavor packets...I suspect only rich douches or poor people trying to give the appearance of bieng rich will buy this.
I love the Bottle and what it is able to do, BUT $150 is a little much not including the $36 in refillable pods. If i purchased the bottle i would refill the pods my self with something cheaper. Great review and i'm looking forward to what you review next!
I’ve watched a few of your videos now and today I decided to subscribe. You give this down to earth vibe that this isn’t a “hey guys I want to tell you only the best things about this free item I got sent to me by company ____” but instead seems like a very thoughtful review of products with an honest, unbiased opinion. Also, The Coldest Water owes you a thanks for my recent purchase!
The subscription plan is actually very cheap. Also you can adjust the amount dispensed to make it easily last a month. $30 bucks a month is actually VERY cheap considering buying a drink is a few bucks at the gas station. Even if you buy say 10 or so drinks a month you save money. What I would like to see is some way to custom order flavors with type. Like choose flavors you like and pick which type (anti-oxidant, electrolyte, multivitamin) etc. I may not like certain types of flavors in the morning versus afternoon. Even better would be a flavorless option.
2020...some people are controlled over an app what they are drinking..and how much and more.....well. i prefer my simple water, that's almost for free btw :)
I have owned this bottle for about a month and I agree with you 100%. It is an awesome water bottle but it does not fit it car cup holders and the refills are quite expensive. One other issue I have had is that it does have issue connecting with my phone sometimes. I do believe if they made the pods less expensive more people would try this product.
First, you are right on the money with the GEEK factor. I spend around $150 for Propel Packets per month. Since I only drink water, you can easily deduct the money you would spend on Coke or Pepsi. When you only drink water, you can pay a bit more.
2 minutes in and I'm certain I wouldn't buy it because I wouldn't need it. What a waste. Doesn't hold enough water; not wasting valuable space on my phone for a useless app; I thought that maybe the rechargeable part was a refrigeration gadget, which might have made it a little better, but since there is no way to keep the water cold, either, there's no point to spending that much for a water bottle. Thanks for the video, so I will never need to consider this thing again. Thanks for informing and entertaining us.
I just keep a mio in my pocket and use it throughout the day in a regular water bottle $5 a week and more portable Not sure what problem this bottle is solving
It’s just cool, convenient and tracks how much water you drink, if anything it’s solving how you can measure out how much water you have consumed without having to carry around a measuring cup with you
An idea is that the water bottle is detachable and you have the flavoring as a separat thing and portable. So it gives more options more water space and possibly more effective
Can u put it in the fridge...say overnight or whatever? I like my water super cold...even freeze it and drink it as it melts. Just wondering if it's fridge/freezer safe?

I really hope companies find the value in this guy's videos. He gives a very honest and reasonable review without any bias. They should take this info, apply it, adapt, and overcome.
Wait, you need an app to tell you how much water is left in a transparent bottle that you just drank from?
No, it tells you how much water is left in your dairy intake of water, not of the bottle alone
Viictor Martinezz It’s amazing how many people aren’t thinking of that...
Well when your butler is on vacation, someone/something needs to keep track of how much you’re drinking.
@@victormartinez6974 umm that isn't a thing. There is no reccomend daily intake for water. Ask any doctor, and they'll tell you you to drink when you are thirsty. That 8 glass a day thing is nonsense. But sure, let a corporation tell you how much water you need, they surely know better than your own body.
:) 😎
If someone can justify spending $150 on a water bottle, the high price of the refills is moot.
AccioPotassium! I guess the only thing, although not a proper justification of the price is that you can cut down on the sodas you’re drinking if the drinks are as good as claimed. Not only are you being healthier, you are saving money there. This is still very expensive in the long run anyways. I agree with the review, if they can make the water bottle and pods cheaper, then I would totally buy the water bottle.
You can get it for 100 with a promotion code takeoff50 I believe. I've been looking at it for awhile but even at that price it's hard for me to justify. Especially the volume it holds is only 16.9 onces
@@privatelobbies As heavy as it is now if it held any more water you'd need a cart to carry it around.
Yeah until this company goes out of business and stop making refills.
They did offer it cheaper if you went for subscription, but still over priced
In the context of hiking, all I can think of is the space and weight of the bottom part that could have been water.
And while the people who bought this are fiddling with their phone I'm drinking my squash and getting on with my life.. with $150 still in my pocket.... what a waste of time and money
I don't know any hipsters who would want this. This seems like more of a dad gadget to me.

It’s a pretty impressive device I’ll admit, but $150 seems rather steep for this, plus getting refills for those pods for the length of time you have it. But also the amount of water it holds seems limited, and for the cost I don’t know if I could justify that.
From their website, if you subscribe, the bottle is only $70 plus $29 for the monthly pods. $30 for 45-90 flavored water drinks isn't bad honestly.
@@CalebFaulkner they got bought out by someone and the bottles are on sale for 66$ with no subcribtion. and the pods are 5$ or less. i got 3 sweet tea pods for 12$. other 3 packs are 15$. if you subscribe you can get the 3 pack for less per month.

"Ah man, my wifi went out! now I cant use my water bottle"
What a time to be alive!
Thankfully this bottle can be used fully without the app or WiFi via the flavor button
I can see this being use to blend alcoholic drinks, with the pods being filled with alcohol. Makes it fast and easy to mix different types of drinks; just select the recipe from the app(as long as the bottle has the types of alcohols needed for the blend) and shake!
Another example of why everything doesn't have to be "smart"
Good review as always :)

Consumption tracker: some might find useful to know how much. water they are drinking per day
Real time liquid display: nonsense.
I'm beginning to think my smart paper clip might not sell.
Eventually one day this is how they will do it at restaurants, planes, hotels, etc. you get a big bottle and use an app that instantly makes the drink you want and charges your account. Lol
That would be pretty cool. I hate those soda machines with the 100000 flavor combinations cause they're always so nasty and sticky.
If you're camping: This weighs more, requires charging, holds half as much water. Awful.
If you're at home, work, etc: Just get a regular water bottle and a regular drink mixer. Stuff like Mio is much cheaper per serving and works fine.
As an added bonus, regular water bottles have a bunch of optional features (e.g., you can get an insulated water bottle, a dishwasher safe waterbottle, a spillproof water bottle, etc.)
Admittedly, using this water bottle gives you more smart features. However, even if it was $30 and $5/mixer, I would still stick with a normal water bottle. It remains a mystery to me why people feel the need for a smart water bottle.
More dollars than sense.
I mean the idea of getting 90 drinks that are basically water and being able to track of much I consume is amazing. The price is not but it would be a need for me specially for my workout
Omg the light matches the flavor, “so cool” “so nice”
Good review, cool to see someone pushing the boundaries of what you “could” do with technology.
To be honest, it's just jamming an Arduino and a dispenser into a water bottle. It's barely more complicated than a flashlight with an Arduino attached to it to tell it when to switch on.
Straight water, it’s all I drink! Cheap, and the healthiest thing for you. My brain calculates how much I drink.
Is there an app for that?
Lucky 🤦🏻♂️ I cant do that much math that fast and on the go
You don't have to do any math. Your atonomic nervous system does it for you.
Yeah, like... we got some notification on when we are lacking the water too
(Too bad it's going away the older we are, old people tend to forget to drink and get dehydrated)
If you can't remember how much water you drink ... then it's time to go see the doctor...
Cool concept but I don't really want a computer tracking every sip I take. My brain does that well enough. And my brain was free!
I just checked for this on amazon.ca (I'm in Canada). The price there is $478.78, and free shipping. Well, that is a hard no for me!

I have one and sometimes it gives me vodka instead of whiskey. Or, even worse, gin instead of tequila. Overall though, it's an awesome product. It just can't tell liquors apart very well.
So essentially it needs a refillable pod system where you can buy in bulk the syrup to fill up a pod.
At least that would cut down on waste. But this is peak capitalism, baby. Who cares about that?
It’s really cool... and fantastically expensive. Sounds like a kurig that costs more.

I'm thinking it doesn't keep water cool either.. thanks for this! Interesting!
The geek in me wants this so much! But that price totally killed the high.
Nobody: isn’t it hard to add flavor to water?
Life fuel: here you go!
King of Cups wat are you talkin about....🙄
What's wrong
"I FORGOT TO CHARGE MY WATER BOTTLE"
Well one thing to keep in mind now is that the company folded.
Looks amazing. Would never buy it unless I made like $36 or $50 an hour.
Even then, I'd probably save my money.

Also him: It's too heavy. It doesn't fit in my car's holder.
@@Hater20X seems about right
I love the Bottle and what it is able to do, BUT $150 is a little much not including the $36 in refillable pods.
LOVELY VIDEO JAMES!
Jacey Klein how is this 10 hours ago 😒
Don’t you want the Convenience?
Doesn't hold enough water; not wasting valuable space on my phone for a useless app;
I thought that maybe the rechargeable part was a refrigeration gadget, which might have made it a little better, but since there is no way to keep the water cold, either, there's no point to spending that much for a water bottle.
Thanks for the video, so I will never need to consider this thing again.
Thanks for informing and entertaining us.

$5 a week and more portable
Not sure what problem this bottle is solving
It’s just cool, convenient and tracks how much water you drink, if anything it’s solving how you can measure out how much water you have consumed without having to carry around a measuring cup with you
It has added health benefits
6:30 you had the perfect opportunity to name this peach black
An idea is that the water bottle is detachable and you have the flavoring as a separat thing and portable. So it gives more options more water space and possibly more effective
If it actually pulled water from air I’d be more impressed
Can u put it in the fridge...say overnight or whatever? I like my water super cold...even freeze it and drink it as it melts. Just wondering if it's fridge/freezer safe?
