I knit the Ranunculus several times, though I only have one to show for it. It just struck me as you were talking about it this time, that this may be where I came up with the idea of knitting any of the sweaters I like with whatever yarn I want to. Last summer I knit a linen blend sweater that was meant to be knit of wool (Fervent). Right now I'm knitting a cotton/acrylic blend sweater (Gingerbread by Espace Tricot). Almost all of my yarn stash comes from an annual Textile Center Garage Sale, the linen blend yarn knit from a $2 cone; the Gingerbread sweater I'm working on now is being knit from a $10 bag of 9 50g balls, so far I'm used 3 balls, I think it'll only take 6 balls for this sweater (my mom's size).
That is your colour for sure! Looks great!!
thanks for another interesting podcast. I also enjoy hearing about your recommendations for books, podcasts, etc.
Thanks Kathy, enjoyed your updates and as always love your colour choices. Looking forward to seeing more of your cardigan.
Thank you! I'm enjoying working with color again
You look absolutely stunning in your cobalt ranunculus! The color perfectly suits you 🥰
Thanks so much! I'm so attracted to the knitters who work with a lovely soft palette, but the reality is that I crave color!
Have a safe journey! It was a very intersection podcast, thanks for that. My current main projects are a baby blanket for my new greatnephew and the cumulus shirt knit with a fabulous yarn, a mixture of silk, yak, alpaca and merino. I haven’t done any comorwork yet, but will be at a seminar about fair Isle next month in Munich and am really looking forward to then starting on new projects. I really loved the ones you showed at the end of your podcast
I bought the Pressed Flowers cardigan pattern too. I have to find the yarn I would like to knit with. I'm loving the blues and the teals!!
Thank you for another of your wonderful informative podcasts. I enjoy your content and opinions. Looking forward to hearing more of your travel plans of the future and loved hearing of your past. It’s really nice to connect and get to know new friends. Thank you.
Thanks, Rosemary!
Love that Ranunculus and the way you just added on to make the Sophie scarf be what you wanted.
I was knitting on a scarf with a skein of Feederbrook white watching, and it is so fun to see each bit change to another color. Enjoy all your projects and hope to see you soon
Thanks, Wendy!
I just frogged an attempt at a DK weight Ranunculus. I love yours! I'm also a Brian Doyle fan. One of my favorites is The Kind of Brave You Wanted to Be: Prose Prayers and Cheerful Chants Against the Dark. Wonderful warm essays.
Thanks for the recommendation!
I always love to watch your update. So much great knitting and informations. About the pressed flowers cardigan another way to go could have been using a larger needles side for the bottom to make it larger. I never tried myself but I read other people doing it to transform a squared pattern into a a line. Knit on, all the best from Italy
Thank you! I heard of that technique and I've seen patterns that actually use smaller or larger needles for shaping, but haven't tried it yet. I've now knitted about 9 inches of the body and the width is slightly longer than I expected, so I might try switching to smaller needles for the upper body. I'll let you know how it works!
I've yet to knit a Ranunculus, but each time I see a review of one it brings me one step closer... However, I keep telling myself that I need to finish up a bunch of my many WIP's before I should start another! Yours is a beautiful color that looks great on you.
There's so many great patterns out there to try and I generally don't knit a pattern more than once (except baby patterns), but it is fun to just pick up the needles and yarn and start an old pattern you're familiar with.
Your Ranunculus is wonderful! I have the same yarn ( sweater quantity) , I will start one very soon. Thanks for your great podcast.
You made me buy the Ranunculus pattern 😅😂 now to find the yarn lol
You might have it in your stash! Have fun!
The cardigan is starting out so lovely, I can’t wait to see your progress.
Thanks so much! I really can't put it down.
I found your projects interesting but there's just way too many commercials in the middle of the podcast.
