Fun fact about Misery: Stephen King said he wrote it while he was struggling with addiction. The writer symbolizes him and the captor symbolizes drugs and alcohol (he talks about it in his book On Writing, it's quite interesting).
Wow that's such a cool way to look at it!
Cool this was after he got hit by a car right?
I heard a different story: Just before Misery, SK wrote The Eyes of the Dragon, which was not well received because readers' expectations were different than what he had written and he got some backlash for it. He wrote Misery as a metaphor for feeling "trapped" into writing only what readers expect from him; you know, to stick with the whole "horror" thing and not branch out of what his fans had come to expect and love. Either way, I think backstories are interesting, and Misery is a good book.
Turtle Anton no, this was years before. He struggled with cocaine addiction and alcoholism and Annie Wilks is the personification of cocaine. By the time the accident occurred he had been sober for years
Kevin Yea thats the One i have heard as Well
THE BILL HODGES TRILOGY YESSSSS
YES I NEED TO READ THEM
hey c
Finders keepers is the best

@@Devin-xe2iv "I'm lovin' it" lol
"The stand" and "It" are my favorites
IT is amazinggg
Awesome! I think I'm going to read it in February.
I love your channel!
It's amazing but it's like 1000 pages ;-;
I’ll admit, it can be very boring and dragging at times, but I loved it even more than the remake. And honestly, I really don’t understand the hate on the ending.

Sansa Stark? :'0
Hernan Martinez You hit the nail on the head with two words
I JUST THOUGHT IT TOO
Yeah absolutely. She's look like sansa stark
Ahh. “Carrie” is the only book I’ve read of his and I very much enjoyed how it was put together and the overall plot.
Read Salmes lot
I attempted to read "It" but stopped, Started reading "The Shining", stopped (finished after Pet Sematary), read "Pet Sematary"... I couldn't stop. It was so good
I'd recommend the Dark Tower series. I'm a bit of a fan.
"A bit of a fan", just look to the dude's photo
Yes, Pet Sematary is an amazing novel! A real slow burn horror that is really dark and depressing. I can understand why King was reluctant to publish it. He takes you to places where the mind shouldn’t go in that novel.... read it haha!
IT is the best one I have also read Carrie, The Green Mile, The Shining and Misery. They're all great
If I could recommend my three favourites, it would definitely be IT, Lisey's Story, and Dolores Claiborne

Maybe you can help me, I have been looking for year for a book that someone read when I was a kid and recommend it when I grow up.. Well I haven't found it I think is from him and I have read a lot from him but nothing. It's about a a doctor that drugs rape and patients ND her wife realize that he is raping their daughter and he Starr drugging her so he can't talk about it until she escape.. If you hVe seen this story somewhere let me know please
Just subbed a few mins ago, I then went to my sub box, updated it and got excited 😂
Yay haha
IT is such a good book. It took me about a week and a half and the book is so interesting, I thought I wouldn’t have time but you MAKE time for this book like that’s all you want to do is read it.
Amazing books to read !💪💪📚📚📚
did she read any?
No just buying
I’ve read the shining and misery and can’t decide which I liked best.
OMG I have a million books in my shelves and I’ve only read a dozen, I can totally relate.
I love Stephen King! I’m almost done collecting enough books to fill my second shelf! 😁 I’ve read a few books by him and every book I’ve read gets better and better! Love your collection ❤️
That's awesome! He makes filling up shelves very easy haha. Thank you :)
I LOVE STEPHEN KING I'm reading It right now and I am absolutely obsessed. Totally recommend it
That's amazing!
misery is my dad's favorite book/movie so cool
Yay I should be reading that one in January
I just read Misery and have "It" on the way in the mail
You showed my three favourite SK novels in succession. *Pet* *Sematary* , *It* and *The* *Stand* . *Pet* *Sematary* was the first novel of his that I read and it scared me, but it also had me on the edge of tears. This, for me, was a new experience as I was 19 at the time and never cried at anything. I read *It* a few months later, and this was the only novel I ever read that I woke up early in the morning to read before going to work, reading at every tea break and lunch, and then rushing back home later just so I could start reading it again. *The* *Stand* was a mighty book. My favourite first chapter of any book, but a real task to get through as it's just so long. It took me two weeks to read it, but I loved the story and the characters in it. So simple yet complex. The virus wipes them out, then they have to rebuild, while at the same time trying to overcome a demonic force that is intent on destroying them. When I put it down, I said to myself that this was my favourite novel. Looking back, I think I'd have to put it joint top with It. *Pet* *Sematary* coming in third.
Honourable mentions:
*The* *Green* *Mile*
*The* *Long* *Walk* (found as a novel itself, or in the *Bachman* *Books* )
*Misery*
*The* *Dark* *Half*
*The* *Shining*
*Salem's* *Lot*
*The* *Dead* *Zone*
*The* *Tommyknockers*
*Gerald's* *Game* (but stop reading when the font changes at the end - it's a waste of 100 pages)
And read the short story collection *Night* *Shift* for 'The Last Rung on the Ladder'.
I envy you the enjoyment you have before you!
Nice collection and yes yes I do have a Stephen King collection :)
I have that exact copy of the shinning
Insomnia and Needful Things are both incredible books.
I just went on a Stephen King book buying hall and can’t wait to read them!! Subscribed immediately I love your personality ☺️❤️
When you see she has a mockingjay part 2 poster in the background and be like, girl you lucky
"It" is the best, I recommend it
You should definitely read firestarter it’s one of my favourite Stephen King books!
Just found your video so I’m a little late lol but under the dome is great and the show was so good!!!
I've read Firestarter, Desperation, Cycle of the Werewolf, The Langoliers, 1408, Autopsy Room Four, Trucks, a chunk of IT, chunk of The Shining, chunk of Christine, bits of Cujo, The Dead Zone, and others I can't remember if I've read or not lol
So glad I’m finally finding ppl who read him, I read IT a few months ago and LOVED it so now I’m trying to get into him but none of my friends like horror and no one my age on mainstream booktok read SK
(I also just realized this video is from 3 years ago)
You haaaaave to read IT and The Bill Hodges Trilogy!!!
Delores Claiborne is one of my fav books of all time!! A masterpiece. You'll love it!
I love Stephen King, all of his books are amazing. Under the Dome is very much worth the read, I couldn't put it down the first time that I read it.
If you have not seen/read the green mile please do! I have not read the book but the movie is amazing. One of my all time favourites
What about the books underneath this sentence?
1.Christine
2.Firestarter
3.The Dark Tower Series
4.11/22/63
5. The Running Man
6.The Dead Zone
7.Gerald's Game
my broke ass over here still borrowing books from the library we-
I was going to read the Stand but I felt like I shouldn’t because of the current pandemic
Mario Bowser494 I read it 2 weeks into quarantine and for me it just enhanced the reading experience. Due to things in the book it didn’t freak me out too much because it definitely has its major differences to what is happening now
I’m definitely a Stephen King girl too!!! I’ve read a few of his books 📚. He’s a terrific and awesome writer!! I’ve been going through a reading slump 😢😢 recently and I’m slowly getting out of it. I’ll be reading more in 2021 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽. I’ve got so many Stephen King books I can’t wait to read❤️❤️❤️
The only Stephen King book i have read is The Stand and let me tell you it was amazing
i have a bunch of his books too because my mom loves him, but she only has dutch translations and if i read his books i want to read them in english
The Green Mile is an excellent story. I'm reading Doctor Sleep right now. Desperation is a real good story.
I've only read Pet Sematary and The Green Mile so far but I adore Stephen King because I love the adaptations of his movies and probably 'cause I just like the horror genre. He has a distinct way of storytelling. I read Pet Sematary way, waaaay back but I still remember how it scared the hell out of me while I was reading it. The Green Mile, however, gave me all the feels. I just. Ugh. Both books were so good! I am planning to read It before the movie sequel comes out.
Those books sound really good! I'd love to read those soon so I can catch up on the film adaptations.
Insomnia is about Mike from the losers club from It. He’s the only member of the losers club that stayed in Derry
The Green Mile is soooo amazing! I haven’t read the book though, I‘ve only seen the movie twice and I cried a lot hahaha. It‘s about this guard in prison who wants to help this prisoner who is falsely accused of his crimes and is supposed to be executed. It‘s really emotional actually
oooh no I'm going to have to buy a lot of tissues then
The adaptation is actually pretty damn close to the novel and is one of his most faithful adaptations. It's a quick read and a very emotional read
Please read Salem's Lot. It's about vampires!
I read that book and loved it so much!
It’s been four years. Curious if you’ve read some of these by now!
You know, I havent read too much Just a few books (in school i did but no because i wanted) because im a little lazy but i realized that wasn't cool as a person Who studied Communication but I've decided to end with that. Now, sb recommended me 'Misery' and i was looking for opinions in English to practice as my listening as my reading skills. You encouraged me to read books of Stephen and many more!! You have a new subscriber from Mexico City! Thank youuu!!! 🤗😊
Bruh, *obviously* by Stephen king 😂❤️
Green mile isn’t sad it’s more scary
wtf no, it's a sob-fest.
I only have 7 including my second copy of Misery
Cell is a very underrated book I really love it
I have 43 books by Stephen King. Haven't read them all, but I have a few that I have read and loved.
1. Salem's Lot
2. Rose Madder
3. The Tommyknockers
4. Needful Things
5. The Shining
6. Cujo
7. Dolores Claiborne
(Currently reading Firestarter right now and it's good. Also I got all 7 of The Dark Tower books.)
Zack Olivarri I'd recommend the journey to the Tower
Wow what a shit book
Read the darktower series
pet sematary and the green mile are my favorites
Insomnia is an amazing book. Another really good book by him that you didn't mention is Bag of Bones. Really good book.

Misery
I am currently reading Firestarter and am enjoying it although it isn't one of his best.
can you do a video of the fastist way to finish his books cause there really long I'm reading doctor sleep at the moment.
I am similar to you and have 14 of his books and am currently on my fourth which is pet sematary.
The other ones I have read are:
- It
- The Shining
- Doctor Sleep
The other ones I own are:
- Carrie
- Salems Lot
- Firestarter
- Cujo
- Different Seasons
- The Dark Half
- Needful Things
- Insomnia
- Under The Dome
- Revival
Edit: A lot of people say that Doctor Sleep isn’t very good but I thought it was okay. It’s not my favourite one I’ve ever read but is still really good.
Im 19, i only read The Shining, I was given Under the Dome Part I (yes in Portugueses version they do parts to win more money ahaha) and im gonna read it!
The Shining is my fav book btw
If you read Carrie, Misery, and Cujo you will read them all. In Everything's Eventual read Lunch At The Gotham Cafe it's a short story and very deep. The Shining is good but Dr. Sleep is totally different more of a companion novel, I honestly like it better. Delores Claiborne , is a crime investigation, with a hard hitting subject
Nice collection, I have
1. The Shining
2. Doctor Sleep
3. Salem’s Lot
4. Carrie
5. Misery
6. Dreamcatcher
7. Pet Sematary
8. Night Shift
9. Mr. Mercedes
10. The Green Mile
And coming in the mail right now are
1. The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
2. The Stand
3. Dolores Claiborne
the green mile is the saddest story omlll it got me bawling
I only have Salems Lot but I haven't read it yet. Is it good?
I loved it!
I love Stephen King. And I feel like he is one of my favorite authors. But then when I look back I've only ever read 1 book of him. Really need to get into more of his work bc this is rediculous
5:03 i hate that cover of the it book i got mine recently and its the one with pennywises clown nose on the top then his smile then it says it
I love the edition of Pet Semetary you have!
Great video! Thanks.
oh dreamcatcher...
thats about aliens coming out of people's butts i think
omg is it really
look it up kiddo
Peyton: *coughs*
Me: *checks the date*
Anyway, I don't know why I only discovered her channel now.
I love your library
Insomnia is amazing!
So far I have 2 copies of Carrie, 2 copies of Misery, 3 copies of IT, 1 copy of The Shining, 1 copy of The Stand, 1 copy of 'Salem's Lot and 1 copy of Cujo. I really want to get Pet Sematary next
Great video! I LOVED Doctor Sleep! I highly recommend reading The Shining first. If you've seen the movie but haven't read the book, it might throw you off a bit. Also, I highly recommend 11/22/63. It is one of my favorite books of all time, not just one of my favorite Stephen King books. I live the fact you have such a good collection of books and especially Stephen King books. I hope you enjoy reading them. You have some really good ones. I'm just always glad to see people, especially young people, enjoying books and reading. We need A LOT more people in this country and world to do more of it.
My friend read The Stand.... and then died of dysentery.
Under the dome was my first SP book and I loved it!
I have that exact edition of needful things. Its my favorite book of his by far.
I reallly ejoyed Misery, my first book of his that I read, watched the movie so many times. The book is so much more gruesome. in fact he should make a prequel to Annie Wilkes.
Can you show comic books of marvel in your next video
Under The Dome is amazing! Definitely read it if you haven't yet.
Whoa. I've only read Pet Cemetery and The Shining by Stephen King. I love so many of his movies though!
Awesome!
I own 11 books by him I've finished the green mile and I'm reading misery I also have nightmares and dreamscapes 11.22.63 dreamcatcher salems lot the shining end of watch mr Mercedes it and pet sematary
I'm currently reading IT. So good. First book I've read by King and I have Pet Semetary as well, so that's next on my read list.
my favourite of his are The Shining, It and 11/22/63 but I havent read a lot of his yet. Start reading his books already! :)
LET'S HIGH-FIVE
* whispering * bc i love his work and he is my fav writer and none of my friends wants to read it bc they don't want to be scared 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Have you read any off these
Great collection, I love how it’s a mix of different editions, even though I probably wouldn’t be able to do that your way 😂
I’ve read only one book by Stephen King but I own fourteen 😂 13 are pocket editions (mass market paperbacks??) that were 10 PLN, which is about 3 USD, so I had to get them, of course…
The one I’ve read is The Dead Zone and I really liked it! I really want to read some of his books next year (:
How many have you read now?
I finally finished my fifth book by him which is It. I've also read
-Carrie
-The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
-The Bazaar of Bad Dreams and
-11/22/63
That's awesome! Did you enjoy them and which one is your favorite so far?
Peyton Reads 11/22/63 is definitely my favorite King and one of my favorites of all time. It's huge but I'd recommend it.
is 11.22.63 good?
nerd wizard yes. It's my favorite Stephen King book and the nest book I read last year
I recommend Christine!!
