wow.. Rosenthal has come along way from being the local dealer up the street where I used to live in Virginia. This is almost TV production worthy quality video and reviewing. Good job guys.
I am so impressed by the hard work, care and enthusiasm that went into making these videos. You really take auto sales to the next level. I have been doing a lot of research and plan on getting a new car sometime in the next few months. If at all possible, I plan on making a trip to your dealership to buy the new Passat TDI. Thank you for making these videos.
I love these videos you put together, Rosenthal! This and your Fiat commercial are terrific! It's nice to see a passionate dealer out there. Shame there aren't more like you here on the west coast.
@Subtr3y - Yeah... You're right! We actually just finished filming another vehicle and it's in the process of being edited... so hopefully we'll be able to post it before tooooooo long. We've just been kinda busy around here lately...:) Glad you enjoy our videos and hope you tell your friends!!!!! To Your Success - Steve
I like that has really filled the gap Volvo once filled. High quality, safe and cheap to run. They will probably never be as impressive as a BMW or Audi, but they're great cars at a reasonable price.
Thanks for the compliment. We really appreciate it. Hope you view our other videos as well. Our latest one is filmed in 4K. It truely is TV production resolution..:) Steve
@Krille3 - Thanks for the compliment. You're absolutely right... Let's just blame the delay on "technical difficulties" which should be behind us now. Stay tuned... we have a lot more in store for ya! Thanks for watching..:) - Steve
Does an automatic transmission mean that you cannot shift the gears by yourself? My dad is thinking about getting this car but he doesn't like automatic transmissions and he doesn't want to regret buying it because we have to pay a ridiculous 200% on the price of the car due to the import tax. Can you recommend me some other alternatives, please?
@srk7555 Steve! If it's something you guys need to improve it's your uploading speed. A month or more is waaaaaay to long time for me. I always get exited when you have posted a new video :) You're doing a GREAT job as a reviewer!
@TheGarvito - Yeah.... Sorry for the delay. We've just been really busy around here lately..... We should have another one up before toooooo long..:) We're in the process of editing it right now. We have some stuff on Twitter too, so stay tuned and thanks for watching our videos! To Your Success - Steve
thats why, the gti from brazil, was falling apart on the interion but, ive replaced almos everything and right now it's all ok, i love vws and audis ,i kept the gti and i own a 2012 passat right now, love em both, but that has nothing to do with where they make em, i can keep telling you about all of the vws of my family, mostly jettas, all made in mexico ,that have been great cars over the years with no built quality problems or whatever you meant
Would like to know what the ride is like more BMW or more Lincoln, is it quiet like a Lexus or loud like a box with wheels. Useful stuff like that. I can play air guitar in my Buick Roadmaster :)
Omg it feels like a eternity since I have seen new video I went and saw all the vids on this channel my favorite was penguin and the BMW 6 series Omg the car was bad ass. Only good review on UA-cam . Do u know if there are alpina BMW in north va? If so review it!
@TheMethodSkate - I really appreciate your kind words. We have a number of videos coming your way that we hope you'll really enjoy. They're just getting edited and will be up soon. Drive Safe..:) - Steve
@Matt621308 - They're coming your way... A couple in the editing phase and we're finishing the filming of another one this week. Thanks for your patience and "Happy Holidays"! - Steve
@thizzle7xu 2012 3 isn't supposed to be out until next Summer, it hasn't even been unveiled yet, not even the new 4 cylinder engine that's going into it, but it might not be too different from the one going into the Z4. Can't wait to see the new M5 review though!
@antidescent :) that's great! I agree with you; I think D is fine as it is. The DSG *DOES* take some getting used to though. I like it, but would almost prefer a manual. Reversing uphill is an experiencing. It's like a combination of rubber band feel and chatter from a clutch engaging.
excellent vid as always. i thought the new passat looked really bland at first (and I still do to some degree), but I can't deny that it is pretty slick looking, especially in black.
@chopperenzo - Yes Yes Yes... Please Do! We really appreciate your support and hope you "spread the word" for us... The more viewers we have... the more fun we can have..:) Plus, we have a lot more in store for ya so stay tuned!!! To Your Success - Steve
@TriplogikAmerica Got to agree. As a European I can hardly recognise this vehicle as a Passat. It's a fairly non descript family car in the UK and certainly no class leader. But it looks much better in the flesh than this Americanised model. It's nicely finished too if a little basic. We get a 258lb foot diesel engine that can punt it along to 70mph in 8.6 seconds. That returns 61 mpg and it is a bit of a hoot to drive. I think you are being short changed even if it is cheaper to buy initially.
@thizzle7xu I got a 2k11 328i and when originally shopping for a 3, I asked if they had a new 2010 3 and was told they went out of production during the spring so all the new ones were 2k11s. It makes sense for them to stop production so people don't feel screwed for paying more than they should for older technology which the current 3s are. The next design is supposed to look more like a 5 according to the web.
Really like the look of this Passat. Here in the UK we also have a new Passat, but it’s just a facelift of the previous model. It’s an improvement, but the US car has better proportions, and looks sharper. And possibly most importantly about the US car, is that it has a proper handbrake, we are still stuck with the stupid electronic one :( lol Fantastic review as always!! :)
still would prefer german manufacturing; the last vehicle we bought in our family that was german but manufactured in the US was a 2000 Mercedes M class, if you want to know some history, it was not a very good vehicle for many people. Still a very nice review
@TheStonerBeats - Oh... I get it..! You must be referring to the acronym for: Funny.Articulate.Genuine. Geee Shucks... Thanks! It's nice to have people whose obvious intelligence and maturity "speak for themselves" commenting on our videos..:) Steve
@jet052673 That's strange because here in Europe, you get air vents in the back seat. At least in the previous model, and I doubt they would have removed them.
@EVILGOKU1986 - We just finished filming another video and it's in the editing process and should be up "soon". We took a bit of a break but are back on the road again. Thanks for your patience..:) - Steve
It's okay....It's okay... Sorry to freak ya out a bit here...but you're actually watching some "special effects" we used in filming this video. PLEASE don't try this at home...or out in the real world!!! I wasn't actually driving during the shot. It just looks that way on film. Check out our Acura MDX video and you'll see at the end it looks like no one is driving in the driver's seat driving when I'm in the passenger seat. It's a very coooooool special effect. Enjoy..:) Steve
@AlternativeUses because Rosenthal Automotive is a dealership trying to sell the cars on its lots. I'd love to see this guy with an independent car reviewer =D
@lcsxwtian - We have a couple new ones in the editing phase and another one to finish filming this week. We hope to have them up soon. Thanks for your patience..:) - Steve
@srk7555 The reason is very simple. He works for a VW dealer. He does not talk about the issues with this car. This is a very professionally done guided tour. However, strictly speaking, this is not a review. It is too biased to be one. No offence, but he needs to talk about the negatives as well if he would like to call this a genuine "review".
@ThousanWhite - Thanks for the compliment. We appreciate it! We have some of the finest camera crews, editors, producers and directors in the Universe on staff... so it's all done "in house". If you want a sneak peek, just check out our video - Rosenthal Automotive: Behind the Scenes / One Year Anniversary - on our UA-cam channel... Glad ya like our videos and keep watching cuz there's a lot more in store for ya..:) To Your Success - Steve
@AlternativeUses - Say hey... Thanks for watching our videos. We really appreciate it. But I have to tell ya... If you haven't driven the Chrysler 200... You should. You'd really be surprised how nice a ride it is for the money! I know it's not a "luxury car" per se but it really is one of those "sleepers" you have to drive to appreciate it. I was really impressed by the 200, especially the Sport package. Check it out and let me know what ya think! Thanks..:) - Steve
Whatever happened to the midsize sedan? Cars like the Passat, Accord, and Camry for example have become to bloated than what they used to be. Rant aside, great video as always!
Old man...Old man........ Ha..... Let's just say I'm not as "young" as I used to be..:) Thanks for the compliment though. Bob (the film crew) and I (the "snappy" guy) appreciate it. Hope you check out our 70+ other videos on our channel. If you like what ya see then please subscribe..:) Steve
Anyone know the long term maintenance cost for one these? I hear that it's expensive to repair and you have to top off the diesel fluid for every 10,000 miles. My friend who has an older diesel Passat (mid 2000's), has just spent thousands in repairs due to bad transmission.
The other way around man :) I know the European version is more like a facelift but i think its better looking than the US version.. especially the rear lights of the Euro version are much better looking.. I prefer the Variant version.. much nicer lines and one more thing.. the US Passat and Jetta are cheaper than the Euro Versions.. but theres a verry good reason for it.. about the rear axle.. and some materials inside etc..
@IL0NGHORNS - Yeah... I do... Not crazy about the Edsel or the Gremlin. But other than that..:) Thanks for watching our videos. I'll do my best to be more "objective" in the future and try to present a more balanced view of each vehicle. But it's not easy... cuz I love these machines! Besides... remember, one man's "sweet" is another man's "sour"... Ahem... I just made that up...so you can quote me if you want..:) To Your Success - Steve
@soroboro8 - Say Hey... Congratulations for being the "first viewer" of our video! We appreciate your support and loyalty to us!!!! We have some cool "surprises" in store for you so keep watching and tell your friends to check out our videos too. The more the merrier..:) To Your Success - Steve
I was looking at some stats, which clearly have shown that Volkswagens assembles in USA had some reliability problems compare to the previous generation of the Passat (made in Europe sold in USA). Besides, only fool would think that 7k drop in price would come without sacrificing the quality and reliability. Volkswagen just thought it would have been economically beneficial to sell more cars for less price, because they knew that americans wanted a cheap midsize family sedan.
@srk7555 ill take another look. im stating a lack of criticisms relative to other auto reviews. nevertheless, all the videos on your channel remain very entertaining, interesting, and informative
Great review.... The best youtube car reviewer by far.... simple, fun, insightful, and entertaining.
wow..
Rosenthal has come along way from being the local dealer up the street where I used to live in Virginia.
This is almost TV production worthy quality video and reviewing.
Good job guys.
Best car reviewer ever.
You really do need your own show on TV.
I love Volkswagen cars, probably my favorite brand.
This guy should be on Top gear!! or even have his own show!!
This guy should be an actor, he takes these interviews to the next level. i thought i was watching a movie
I am so impressed by the hard work, care and enthusiasm that went into making these videos. You really take auto sales to the next level. This car's interior is what blows me away. I mean look at the interior, it's beautiful!
BEST CAR REVIEWER ON UA-cam
Impressive cinematography! Very well done folks!
THE SALESMAN IS LIT...😭
A car review that didn't make me fall asleep... enjoyed it I'd say.

What I love about VW is that you get so much bang for your buck!
@Krille3 - Thanks for the compliment. You're absolutely right... Let's just blame the delay on "technical difficulties" which should be behind us now. Stay tuned... we have a lot more in store for ya! Thanks for watching..:) - Steve

Mr. Rosenthal, You are a King.
Glad you found us! What took ya soooooo long..? Thanks for the kind compliment. We appreciate it..:) Steve
Reviewer looks like he'd make a great movie villain with his shades and clear voice
i bet this guy can sell 100 cars in one month by himself. he knows the true art of selling cars. i want to buy a car from him after watching this.
Good review but drugs are bad lol
@srk7555 Steve! If it's something you guys need to improve it's your uploading speed. A month or more is waaaaaay to long time for me. I always get exited when you have posted a new video :) You're doing a GREAT job as a reviewer!
do you have any criticisms of any cars????? nice videos though keep up the great work
entertaining review but ive never seen any negative or critical comments for any review on your channel
he makes me wanna buy every car he reviews
Nahhh....but I hear that from time to time..:) Thanks for watching our video! Steve
@TheGarvito - Yeah.... Sorry for the delay. We've just been really busy around here lately..... We should have another one up before toooooo long..:) We're in the process of editing it right now. We have some stuff on Twitter too, so stay tuned and thanks for watching our videos!

@TheVtieg6 I care! dude, thats like the coolest thing to accomplish, getting first on a Rosenthalautomotive video is pretty grand!
Why are your reviews so brilliant? You guys are *just* a car dealership, how does this pay off?
Really like the look of this Passat. Here in the UK we also have a new Passat, but it’s just a facelift of the previous model. It’s an improvement, but the US car has better proportions, and looks sharper. Even with a lame car this guy does epic reviews. I can't believe he isn't more well known.
@TheStonerBeats - Oh... I get it..! You must be referring to the acronym for: Funny.Articulate.Genuine. Geee Shucks... Thanks! It's nice to have people whose obvious intelligence and maturity "speak for themselves" commenting on our videos..:) Steve
i love your reviews man... please make one on the 3.6 v6 280hp!!!!!!!!!!!
@jet052673 That's strange because here in Europe, you get air vents in the back seat. At least in the previous model, and I doubt they would have removed them.

love the camera work
refreshing review.we don't have this size model here in Australia.
is this the same passat as the european spec? the back looks weird and the sides are just an A4 nice car though.
@killerspicydoritos - Thanks! We appreciate it..:) Steve
@AlternativeUses
because Rosenthal Automotive is a dealership trying to sell the cars on its lots. I'd love to see this guy with an independent car reviewer =D
Love the review and love the car! Golly...that Passat looks handsome in black.
This guy and the guy from cnet should do a review together. That would the the worlds first car reviewing dream team
@lcsxwtian - We have a couple new ones in the editing phase and another one to finish filming this week. We hope to have them up soon. Thanks for your patience..:) - Steve
I really like this car, but living in Phoenix, Arizona I would have like to have seen some A/C vents in the back seat.
Actually, TDI stands for "turbocharged direct injection", not turbo diesel. Still, nice review
@mustsilm isn't that a good thing?
@srk7555 The reason is very simple. He works for a VW dealer. He does not talk about the issues with this car. This is a very professionally done guided tour. However, strictly speaking, this is not a review. It is too biased to be one.

Where have been? Let's see some new videos!
@surfermx It's only Detroit (De Toilet) that change styling for no reason.
I love your reviews, can you please review the Jetta TDI or Autobahn ?
just found ur videos and they are awesome ! subscribed for sure :)

These videos are way more polished than they ever should be....I wonder who produces these videos..
@antidescent awesome! i just keep loving the TDI more and more.. and i'm a lead foot. who would've thought 140HP would be enough!?!?
Kurt Douglas?
😭😭😭
Really good review great job! Congrats.
I got the Fender Edition of this car!

USA model looks greatt..
id buy one of these even im from europe..but the problem is the gearbox..i want a manual one
i like the new passat but i hate the clock in the dash.
