(Carefully) tell others you may know if you think their plants may be showing symptoms and encourage them to get their plants tested.

To date, no cannabis cultivars are known to be resistant to HLVd.
However, remember this is still a new disease and more cultivators are now aware of it and will be actively seeking a possible resistant variety.
Sanitation Protocols

Limit contact with known infected plants
Know who was around an infected plant
Follow sanitation protocols with products that actually work against HLVd.
This is a Problem, but Research is on Going

Was wondering about that myself.
At this time this is unlikely, but there may be wild varieties that can behave more like hops and have it truly be latent. But this has not been found as of yet.

I’m in maryland having this issue now, I feel like I could have been more clean with tools, but at the same time it’s never been so humid, so much pouring down rain and absolutely zero wind outside just stagnant moist air you can barely breath all spring and summer with the most bugs (bad and good) I’ve ever seen and I’m sure all of the smoke from Canadas fires helped out too, 2 weeks or more of smoke everywhere blocking out the sun so yeah things are great right now lol.

RNAi has the best odds of working, but would need to be an exact match to prevent the viroid from being able to bind to host cells.
Curious as to what other plants are affected by the viroid and how long it lasts on surfaces or does it only stay in plant tissue and organic soil matter. You stated pumpkin isn't susceptible which is great! I've heard peppers are though

i know this is is not about this video... but i have a question maybe you can address... i hear people saying you can use food grade hydrogen peroxide to combat pests in the flowering stage.. in my opinion if that thing is gonna be smoked i wouldnt use hydrogen peroxide while flowering...can you give me your opinion on whether it is safe to do so? thanks and great channel :)
Hydrogen peroxide is very short lasting and low residue so this is a good product to use in flower for these reasons.

In short it has made it to dispensaries, the key is to know what to look for when growing the plant. Odds are this has been around for a long time.

I have some plants outside from the seeds i got from the 1 plant that made it last summer and they are like 6 feet tall i topped them they have branches and i got i aphid problem but i also 4 kinds of bugs eating them everything looks good and healthy but i only have have the signs of showing bud with the little hair in some places and no bud yet its looking like its gonna bud i got the growth spurt but it si the 28th and i am way behind i used alaska morebloom a few times they are directly in the ground and was started outside in may planted directly in the ground i dont think i am getting medication this year at this point in southwest saskatchewan we could get snow by mid october

Are they auto strains? If not i would try autos, finish much quicker.
if you can erect a structure to protect from weight of the snow / contain some heat u can pull it off if you prepare

Then I'd figure a way to make some type Temporary greenhouse, hoophouse or some thing to protect against freezing Temps if your grow allows . It sounds like you have a legal medical grow? If that's the case imight be worth wild to build some thing more permanent like a window green house but you have to do what's best for your situation. I been growing outside for 25 yrs I ve had a lot of set backs especially when i first started where I didn't think id get harvest from that spot. Besides it was illegal in NY just until recently I would only put 5or6in the same spot that way if there was an issue it would be contained to them few. That's dependent on how many plants you have too if I only had 5 then they would be 1 at each spot but it was usaly 50 to a 100 i had it set up lik a trap line id run with my quad. Let me know how you proceed
Remember the plants will not give up, make a structure just in-case and do not give up on the plants because what if a frost does not come.

Hey Professor, I'm newly subscribed! Marijuana has finally been legalized in Minnesota. I have been having issues with doing clones. I was hoping there was some way to message you, if you have a few minutes to answer a few questions I have. I have created my own aeration system after trying and failing with the germination chamber and peat pellets. Every single time I tried in that thing they would die from something, most of the time they got waterlogged and just would rot, I had the stuff to help them root faster cause mildew on some of them around the top where I stuck the plant in to. It's like they were never happy, either too hot and would get the mold or mildew issues, or if I tried to use less water, they dried out super-fast, I tried to leave the lid off while they were in my tent since they kept getting too humid, but they would literally fall over by the next morning with the lid off. I just could not get them to root using it, so I built this system and now I am hoping you can answer some questions I still have about using this type of method after watching your video. I tried to use these little cups similar to what plastic cups are made from and those would get full of green slime, and it would stain the cups and even the lid under the cups is stained green. I live in a small town with not many options to buy gear or supplies, but at Walmart I came across stuff called, Wet Foam. Could I cut these out to fit the holes of my aerator and use them to hold my plants as they root? I thought it seemed like it should work since the wet foam is used for other plant, not necessarily to clone them but they retain water, and it seems like it should work somewhat like neoprene or rubber, whatever other people use. I can't find any neoprene in my local stores; I can't even find those little cups with the slits in them that come with "professionally" made aerators. I hope you see this and message me back!
