I was like, "Somebody’s in that window behind you taking your picture! 😳" . 🤣
I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that!! HAHAHAHA! It freaked me out when I first saw that! 🤣
Me, too!! I was rolling through the comments looking to see if anyone else got spooked!
@@soolleigh4442 hahahaha! Same!
It's actually the mirror. The guy is the one who's taking the video. It is kind of spooky...lol
@@tanyakerd6849the person holding the cam is a woman, not a guy. The face looks female, and at 3:25, she's addressed as 'Lisa' when instructed to zoom in.
I use Dipropylene Glycol as the carrier and it works Great! Just a few drops of any essential oil(s) and it smells amazing. It also evaporates unlike therapeutic carrier oils.
That's something for me to try. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
How did you mix it with the dipropylene glycol?
@@RobertN56 It depends on how strong you want the scent to be. Usually, I place approximately 30 drops of the essential oil scent and fill the rest of the bottle with dipropylene glycol.
@@roybermea7684 but you don’t add any water at all?
@@RobertN56 No Sir. I don’t use water. The dipropylene glycol evaporates without water.
Oh my gosh, I just paid for 5 refills. But I shall make my own thanks to you.❤
Thank you for watching Robin! Let us know if you try it, and how you like it!
Very enlightening. Folks from your grandma's day really knew how to get things right!
Yes they did! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for the simple and easy to understand video on refilling Glade Air Wicks.
The person in the back scared the living shit out of me
They aren't "in the back". That is a mirror, its the person doing the recording.
hilarious. saw this first then waiting for it. byoooop!
hahaha...got me too! Lmbo!
Haha me too!
Haha haha 😂
I’ve been gathering intelligence (😁) so I can completely stop paying this RIDICULOUS $$$ for my refills. And came across your video, thanks, was indeed helpful. I will say though all of my research no one mentions the fact that once you use a tiny funnel on the essential oils you may never use this tiny funnel ever again for the exception of the essential oil, because this sandalwood fragrance will forever be in my tiny funnel! 😆☮️😷 Be safe everyone!!
Belinda...roll a little strip of aluminum foil as a funnel..then throw it away...Easy!
Suzanne Olsson good idea. Thanks 😊
Suzanne Olsson, great idea!
I use the glass dropper that comes with the bottles of essential oils. But I spend the money for the larger size bottles. I never buy those tiny little bottles. Waste of money !
Kid in the back window 🤣
1 reason these are better than the actual refills is that those refills actually contain some rather nasty chemicals. I have several in my house and I found out through my doctor and the vet they were giving my cat skin problems and myself, bloody noses. I did have 2 by the litter box and 1 behind my couch where I often sit and those were within 20ft of each other, so that's probably a bit more than average, but the room is very well ventilated AND there's a carbon filter nearby, so it's stll something to consider. The 3rd day after doing this, both the cat and I stopped experiencing problems. Imagine how relieved I was to know it wasn't the lingering symptoms of my "partying" youth that made my nose randomly bleed...
Oh my goodness, I am glad you figured it out! Be well! Thank you for watching!
They contain so called "xenoestrogens" that bind to your actual estrogen and completely disrupt your system.
what are the most people and pet friendly carrier oils?
I hope I can make enough to have my wife stay home and focus on us living sustainably. It seems like a full time job trying to reduce waste and still have luxuries like air wick. Time to start burning candles again!
Just don't burn those candles at both ends.
I'm thinking if y'all have any diffuser sticks, that should help to substitute for the wick... Get almond oil as the base & essential oil scents to add, which, you spend a bit at first, but it lasts much longer and saves money 🤙🏻
Of all the great tips I'll be taking from this video, the pumpkin spice tip is my favourite! 🎃😘
Thank you for watching!
It’s not a ghost and that’s not a window. It’s a mirror and the person filming her in the reflection.
😱😂😂😂
How dare you spoil my scary ghost moment, I was shivering with fear thinking there was ghost person behind her, and you spoiled it for me!!!!!
It is not a mirror. It's a window. You can see and hear cars going by.
@@karenbernard6041the window is off camera, reflected in the mirror that is seen in the video. You see the reflection of the window in the video, not the window itself.
Mystery solved ! ! !
Nice video. Thank you for sharing it. Maybe zoom in closer next time though.
Mixing water and oil doesn’t work. There’s going to be layer separation and it won’t evaporate properly. Also some oils need a certain Ye operative to be reached to be effective at all.
What would you suggest instead of adding water?
@@kierand9410Commenter didn’t watch her video correctly. She used a carrier oil, in this case sweet almond oil along with the essential oil and water. That way it’ll work.
@@Robert-ey2vp the oils and water will separate. That's just common science. I'll try vegetable glycerine and maybe witch hazel to see if it will remain in suspension.

Thank you! I’m so glad I found this, I will be trying this out! I have to air wick wall plugs and it cost too much to buy refills, this will save me so much money! ☺️ I like the idea of wax melter too with vanilla and pumpkin spice 😂 thanks! Again
I prefer the wax melter myself! Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I have been wanting to do this because it’s impossible to find anything for oil plugins that won’t trigger my allergies 🤧
Thank you for watching! I hope you are able to find something that works for you!
Hi!
Thanks for the information!!!
I didn't have carrier oils. But I mixed it with PG (propylene glycol) (food grade) tried it with and w/o water. Had better results w/o.
Near the chimney I tried your other tip. That smelled amazing!!! With both mixtures!
Happy new year and thanks again.
When propylene glycol is heated this may change the chemical composition and it may produce propylene oxide in a little amount which is known as carcinogen
You gave me the giggles with the pumpkin spice getting your man in the mood! Love it! 🤣
Thank you for watching Holly!
I wanted her to dump all the spice on there 😂
Dear Auntie Jaley (lol) :
Thank you very much for sharing,so I took your idea a step further and i used organic coconut oil and vanilla extract in my Airwick air scenter..Please give it a try..and i also used Vegetable Glycerin as a base oil...Thanks for saving me alot of money!
Thank you for watching, and we will definitely give the Vegetable Glycerin a try! We love saving money too!!
does air wick refill tips really work?? i tried it, but nobody smell anything in my family 😁
@@Queen_Nibedita Yes lol..you must use a very strong scent,I use about 15-20 drops of peppermint essential oil from bed bath n beyond..I found fabuloso to evaporate to quickly because its water based.,and never mix oil and water in your plugin refill,as you'll have to wait for the water to evaporate before the oil reaches the bottom for defusion lol(sorry to get all technical)
@@Queen_Nibedita ours worked very well. Maybe try extra drops of essential oil. Thank you for watching!
@@meladuke Oil and water don’t mix. They taught me that in 3rd grade:)
Thanx i will try yours cus sum ppl keep saying the fabuloso thingy works but it hasn't for me, neither the oil mixers with water. I noticed also u said use PAPER wrapped qtips vs the hard plastic ones so it can suck up the liquid👍🏼.
Plus we’re all trying not to permeate the indoor air space with fragrances that are potentially toxic‼️👍🏽🌎💚
Put on some Barry White music and Pumpkin spice in your Fregance warmer and your good to go! lol Thanks for the tip Miss Lisa.
The person in the window scared the xxxxxxxx out of me‼️😁🤣😹
Lol, it's actually the reflection of our camera gal in the mirror.

I poured the Glade oil into the empty wallflower put two qtips as the wick but didn't cut them.they worked great!
Glad to hear it! Thank you for watching!
Nice. I would have the patience to do all of this, but u are great! Thx
I'm raising 4 of my toddler grandsons now, so I dont have the time anymore! lol - but, thank you so much for watching!!
The Dollar Tree sells refills. $1.00😉
I'm wondering if you could use those (or the contents of them) with the Air Wick plug in. I just got the plug in one, but it didn't come with the bottle, so am looking for one of the refills to go on sale so I'll have that. I had purchased the Dollar&a1/4 Tree one before and it didn't work, but I figure the liquid is fine.
I'm surprised that in watching several of these refill shows, none of them use a funnel to get the oils or fragrance in the bottles and it gets on the table top.or counter. I'm also wondering------who is peeking in her window behind her ???
Anyway----thanks for the tips on refilling the fragrance at minimum cost for my Air Wick difuser.
that is a mirror behind me, and a reflection of my dear friend holding the camera. Lol - Thank you for watching!
I forgot you can’t mix oil and water. I had organic unfiltered ev olive oil. When I put the water in, the wick just expanded and so I had another plug in and used all olive oil then added the scents I wanted so I hope it works.
i do! still make home made apple pie,i bake a lot! crap in the markets are full of non essential stuff!
Homemade apple pie! Mmmm. Thank you for watching our video!!
Thank you for both of these ideas!
Does the oil not just float to the top and just the unscented water is going up the wick?
Ours worked just fine! Thank you for watching!
Amazing video. The pumpkin pie comment was funny! I wonder what a fragrance would be I could make for my wife
I've read "licorice for women & pumpkin pie for men" as the 2 scents that have a 'romantic' effect. Anise extract smells like licorice.
The 'ghost' in the back scared me at 1:26, then I realized it happened to other people too!:)
Great video! To the point. Love it.
So glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching!
I think it was hilarious for her son to be looking through the window towards the end of the video.lol
That's my friend and business partner who is recording the video. That is actually a mirror in our outdoor kitchen bar area. We were going for a tropical Key West sort of feel. Thanks for watching!
Lived the video, awesome thx for sharing ❤
Thank you for watching!
Has anyone every tried this method with flavored extract instead? I have maple, vanilla, orange, lemon, anise, peppermint & almond. I figured it would work just as good but not sure.
those usually have a flammable alcohol in them im not sure about that.
I haven't tried an extract, but MINDYWAAAA is has a good point! Thank you for watching!
How do you keep the oils in suspension since you are adding water?
Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Add literally a "drop" of lecithin to the oil & water mixture. It will emulsify and blend it.
Thank you for the tip. And thanks for watching!
Can't see half of what you do with the replacement wick, as the camera is too far away to see 'q-tip'
I love the video it was very easy to follow and do. Thank you
Thank you for your kind comment. And thank you for watching our video!
but water won't mix with carrier oil which is going to just float on the water
Is that a nosey kid looking in the window, lol. Really liked the informative video. Hope you make more without the voyer.
Do I place enough q-tip sticks to fill hole or just 1?
LOVE IT! Thanks.
So helpful! And, I'll be saving money too. ❤
I tried putting the fragrance oil from Walmart & nothing! I couldn't smell nothing. I'm like what are they using to make their scents pop!
Thank you!! Awesome Video!
Thank you, and thank you for watching!
The wick swells up huge ...does that affect the smell?
Why do I need water? Can I use only a fragrance oil mixed with carrier oil?
You can eliminate the water. We have learned that the scent is stronger without it. Thank you for asking!
I use the same nib over and over. They seem to last ok for me.
Yes, we've reused ours as well. Thank you so much for watching!
This was excellent!
Lovely video .. thank you!
Thank you!
we had one of those evaporation plug in fresheners and it leaked down the wall, it stripped the paint off like a good old paint stripper chemical, at that point i thought what the heck am i breathing in....
Now thinking of re-filling them with something that wont burn my lungs away, suggestions welcome.
I know it goes against the whole "saving money" idea, but
enviroscent makes a non toxic plug in. I haven't tried it, but now that I am raising 4 toddler grandsons, I've been considering it. Thank you for watching!

Read somewhere that if you use a scent carrying oil instead of water, you would have better success. So got grape seed oil (cold pressed and pure) used no water, and added 15 drops of Scented oil. It did not work whatsoever, so then I tried another recommendation to get organic verdana coconut oil. This time I doubled the oil and yet still no success. ???Anyone else have any issues or should I try the water half and half?
I haven't tried either of those options, so let us know what you find that works for you. Thank you for watching.
Can you use fragrance oils instead of essential oils?
Yes, either type works for room scenting. Just know this, u can ONLY use Fragrance oils when making skin perfumes, lotions, soaps, etc. Don't confuse them!
On the Amazon carrier oil you shared, Which one should I buy please?
I really think it is personal preference, but I would buy the least expensive myself. Lol - Thank you for watching!
Could you use grape seed oil as a base oil? 😊
I'm sorry, I don't know. I do thank you for watching our video though, and if you try it, please let us know how it goes.
How much base oil did you put in? You did not mention how much???
Oil doesn’t evaporate. You need an alcohol base. All you will do is burn the essential oil scent out of the carrier oil until it’s scentless.
Most Oils are made with alcohol 🧐
Will this work for all kinds of fragrance oils or do they need a carrier?
red roses it’s a mirror.
It was the person recording the video.
Carrier oil helps "fill" the bottle and gives the EO more volume, if that makes sense.
I'm I the only one to notice the kid in the window. Thanks for the video really informative.
No. Lol - That's a mirror, and you see Lisa with the camera. Thank you for watching
@@thesmilinglime1447 omg thanks so funny
Hi.. I tried this and there is no scent and the qtips don't work at all.
Hi Mac, so sorry it didn't work for you. We used the paper rolled q-tips. And of course, we played around with the amount of scented oil we used. Thank you for sharing your experience with us though!
Mac A. Pure vanilla right?
What about Glycerin? Can that be used as a carrier oil?
Looks like you’re in Key West. Specifically, this looks like Kermit’s.
Tossed my bouquet there a few years ago on my wedding day.
Looking forward to trying this out.
Not Key West, but that is the look I was going for!
My wife and I did this two days ago but so far can't smell the essential oils. We used 20 drops. Do we need to turn the setting all the way up on the Air Wick warmer?
How long does it last?
Hi LC, thank you for watching our video. Mine last about 4 weeks to 5 weeks.
Vanilla, cinnamon & coconut oil.
Can you try something similar to this for Pura scent refills in their wall diffuser?
Sike! Love it 🤣
Reading this way after, but I know you said the oil would not catch on fire but would the cotton tip wick...isn't that the part that gets heated to release the scent?
We haven't had any trouble with ours. If you have doubts though, please be on the safer side. Thank you for watching our video!
Thank you!!!!!

Can you use baby oil in plugins please reply
Pumkin pie, huh? Thanks for the tip! Also, if you're not in the mood, do not use! 😉😂
😂😂
So 2 teaspoons carrier oil, 10 drops essential, rest with water
Yes, that's what we used. But you can add more drops of the essential oil if you like. Then finish off with water. Shake well. Thank you for watching!
excellent job thank you
Thank you for sharing
The water part makes no sense if you don’t add alcohol to keep the two from separating and it’s a “scented oil” so why not just use the essential oils and carrier oil?
Joey, I have since tried leaving out the water and it works. Thank you. I do need to update my video!
Exactly!
What about mineral oil as a carrier?
I've never tried it, so if you do, please let us know how it works. Thank you so much for watching!
I just placed an order and the the page went blank. I have not received an email confirming my purchase or giving me anything that was promised. I don't know what happened and it leads me to question this program. I will continue to watch my credit card balance to see if I was charged. I have no idea how I am supposed to get what I bought if they don't contact me by email. I will be disputing this charge if they charged me and I can't figure out how to use this program.
I don't really know what happened, and I don't usually have anything to do with this on my end, but tell me what you ordered and I will try to find out if it went through for you.
You have a nosy neighbor, looking in to your window.
Kaiser Permannete umm their is a MIRROR BEHIND the one talking & it’s the one that is RECORDING, REFLECTION 😂🤦🏻♀️🙄
I wouldn't add the water if you're using a plug in. It will destroy your wicks. Great video though. I have the plug ins and grapeseed or sweet almond oil is an excellent carrier oil..... then just add your essential oils and you'll be good to go. About 10/20 drops.
Thank you Ricky, I'll give it a try.
What about coconut oil does that work as well
@@wendyroberts2893 Yes... it will work fine.
I know that coconut oil will solidify in cooler temps. It might take a bit to heat up if it has solidified, but still might work. Please let is know if you try it! Thank you for viewing our channel!
YES! Water "swells" the wick and you may not get it out. EO+Carrier oil is all you need but when I tried it I needed a lot if EO I'm trying the Scentsy wall nightlight with the scent pod. AIN'T CHEAP! I just filled my bathroom pod with the lite lavendar Downey laundry scent booster beads 15 min. ago. I can smell it but it's still very subtle. Stay tuned for an update.
Downey booster beads: 20 oz for $12 at Target. If it works I'll get 20+ refills from 1 bottle. Scent Time TBD.
Scentsy pods 2 for $7 and they last maybe 7-10 days if I turn it off at night.
I saw a video that said it was not safe to add water...
Could you use a hydrosol instead?
Will this work for the automatic diffusers?

I wish I could hear the first ingredient you added. I turned the volume all the way up and still cant hear it.
I thought the same and I don't know what she said you could also use the cotton swabs for something else as well as that. The music was too loud. So I have no idea everything that was said either. Between the music and the background noise on top too...its too distracting for my ADHD brain with all that going on

My wick is not long enuf. Can someone help?
There is no open fire in a plug in, but all essential oils are flammable since they have a low flashing point.
@Brescalofrio this is not true, as several essential oils have a high flash point. Several also have a low flash point. Anyone using essential oils with heat should check into the oils they're using, so it's not a fire hazard. You can easily find lists of all the essential oils & flashpoints online.
God bless you 🙏
