- If you're stuck trying to decide which cam system to choose for the new Hoyt Prevail, this video will help you make the decision.
I go over the new features the Hoyt Prevail brings to Hoyt's target line up, what shot style works best for each cam, show you how I set each bow up, and go over how each bow tunes.
Epiphany: I was interested in the Prevail SVX. You've helped me change my mind to the X3 cam based on your description. I haven't shot either one yet however. Also I really like your description of your stabilizer configuration. It made perfect sense to me. Good video.
Really enjoyed this. Thanks for putting it together.
Thank you very much!

Hi,
I've watched your videos about the Hoyt Prevail 37 (X3 Cams) and the PSE Perform X 3D and I am currently stuck in between these two bows. At the moment I am using a bow from Bear Archery (my first compound bow, I've been shooting recurve for about a year now) and I am planning to upgrade to one of the two mentioned bows.
I also found the Hoyt Prevail FX which has a ATA-length of 35". Unfortunately, I cannot find any reviews for this bow. What do you think? What is the target group (no pun intended) for the FX? Which bow would you recommend for a beginner?
PS: Keep the great work up :)
I would hands down choose the PSE PerformX3D.
Hi Rob. Really good video, I was hoping that you may be able to help me? I'm thinking of getting a Hoyt Prevail and currently have a Hoyt Ultratec 2004 with cam & 1/2 cams. Would you know which of the two cams - the SVX or X3 would shoot the most similar to this combination? Thanks.
Thank you! You'll probably find the X3 cam most similar to what you're shooting now in regards of feel.
Hi Rob, First of all, Love from India.
I am looking forward to buy a Hoyt Prevail for Competitive shooting and I am a student of 9th class
Please tell me about the setup and the preferred cams. My Idol is Mike Scholessor coz he is Mr. Perfect. What bout you?🤔
I preferred the X3 cams because I don't like an overly aggressive cam. Thank you for watching!
@@rcrchery pls tell me that what do you mean by aggressive cams? BTW, Love From India
hey Rob I have a quick question is there any certain distance between your peep and nocking Loop that would allow you to shoot longer distance for instance if your peep six and a half inches above your nocking Loop will that longer distance serve as an advantage verse 5 inches
Hello. There's not a certain distance, but there's things you can do for set up. If you have a slider sight you can set the peep with the sight lower down on the bar at a middle distance. Something at say 55-60 yards. This will help you be able to get further distances without losing your anchor point. Running a smaller scope housing helps and bringing in the sight bar closer to the riser can help you too. Also, smaller fletchings will help you with clearance.
rcrchery Right on Thanks
In your opinion, does the prevail 37" SVX cam prefer a slightly stiffer or weaker arrow spine, outdoor arrow, 50m ?
I didn't need to vary one or the other, but in my experience the latest batch of Hoyts have liked stiffer arrow over weaker ones.
vertical spread; is it quite common when we are too dominating the bow?
It can be yes. Especially if you don't have the top cam hitting at the correct time.
the x3 bow do you know where i can buy used one
I'd try ArcheryTalk.
Rob which is the best x3 or svx
I'd personally say the Mini Evolve cam is better on the PSE PerformX3D. Out of just the SX andX3, I'd vote X3.
