It's a well-curated mashup but it's not like this is the first done very well - the production styles of each song seem to compliment each other as to give the listener an ideal of professionalism here that without understanding or appreciating, would keep the comment subjective in opinion.
I do reallly like that bassline, please don't perceive my indifference but as a distinct composition, so far as I perceive this, I think it does work - ultimately I do think this would still improve this mashup but I respect the "artistic liberty" this creator took
I would give Lorde a chance. They are very similar inn artist style actually. Very detailed, articulate, and rely on imagery in deeper meaning. Also both are gothic.
Definitely give Lorde a chance. Her second album Melodrama is outstanding. It's clearly a pop album which is full of big danceable choruses but takes subtle influence from various different artists from NIN to Kate Bush and Bowie.

I done dabbled with many many mash ups and remixes on UA-cam, and this has got to be one of the best edits I've ever heard. Definitely in my top 3 quality-wise. Very Well done! I especially like how the first chorus is mashed up with the verse of Closer, but the second chorus is mashed up with Closer's chorus.
