@@ilikejelloyay208 If you've ever done any DJ'ing, multitrack mixing, etc, it's intimidating how much skill it takes to make mashups that sound good. People have had whole DJ careers doing a worse (and less creative) job than Mr. McClintock... and I agree, he is only improving.
When I laughed before it was because of awkwardness and the clash of the songs, but nowadays I laugh in disbelief. Long live Bill and his amazing ears. I still listen to the Ricky James Dio tune of Mary Jane and Holy Diver. It is incredible.
I hated it when Trent Reznor left the Ohio Players - rumours has it, he and Bowie didn't get along too well with each other. Two strong characters in one band I guess. But dang, listen to that, together they sounded so fine!
I read in the National Inquirer, the breakup was due to a clash of the outfits…Reznor refused to wear the flashy outfits any longer and wanted more of the blackest of black…so he left Ohio Players bc they were to colorful and he refused to wear sequins! You know the National Inquirer doesn’t lie! Beautifully done Master of Mash-ups! 🥰⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the America I want to live in, when I could turn on the radio and hear the Ohio Players alongside Bowie, and James Brown followed by Slipknot. And they'll get together in someone's garage and work on performances like this.
A DJ friend of mine hooked up his nephew's ( whatever the Hades that thing is where you pull the string and the toy says "The Cow goes MOO!!!" when this album dropped and mixed it in...so when "I want to F@$k you like an Animal" it immediately followed with whatever animal he wanted to have play...the club I was working at the first time he played it the entire dance floor burst out laughing...and he ended up having to play it at least once a night😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😝
Nope, Carlos Alomar came up with the riff, which was intended to be used on a different song (a cover that Bowie was doing). John Lennon was hanging out with Bowie and was sing “aim” over the riff, which Bowie thought was “fame”. Bowie and Lennon went on to write the rest of the song.
Yes! Just commented basically the same thing. This one is so "f-n" on "fire", this puts Bill above "fame". Only sheer platonic love and admiration for what this man brings, in one mashup, is where Bill's at.
The day Bill announces his last mashup is going to hurt as much as your favorite band announcing their final record. Thank you for what you've done to music Bill. I'll play your mashups to my grave.
Its one thing to make a great Mashup...lots of people do it...but not only is his audio mashup fantastic...but its the blending of the video mashup up on top that really sets McClintock apart imo
Hey Bill here in good ol Australia your "Hall & Oates / NIN collab" has been removed from the main video listings. I guess Hall & Oates really "can't go for that". Damn you UA-cam.
Bill I figured it out, why I like your mashups the best. Most guys it’s about the first 20 seconds of the song for the initial reaction, yours builds and get better with little sprinkles of Bowie in this case or a EVH solo or something like that to take it up a notch. Love it
Holy Shit Batman! This was like eating a spicy Tide pod covered in battery gravy while rebuilding a German transmission in the middle of a SoulTrain dance contest. I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably wouldn't do him much good, I think the cost of actually releasing an album nowadays exceeds what you can earn with it, not to mention the hassle and cost to get all of the ingredients licensed.
@@DerEchteBold I'm not talking about a physical release. I'm talking about a planned out project with about 45 mins worth of music, strung together with some structure and theme.
@@alanrollf2856 I have no idea who that is but I understand what you mean now. Still, the danger of having all the work banned because of one little piece of the whole would be huge.

Mouth silence and mouth deams are fun as well but, His first, mouth sounds (an album dedicated entirely to mashing smash mouth with other songs) probably holds up the least for me lol 😅
WOOOOO this masterpiece is back for all to view (well at least here in Australia), finally, looks like UA-cam woke up to the fact that copyright is not being broken here instead it's being advanced for all parties. About time.
I feel like every new video my comment is "this is your best Mashup yet" but legit this is the best/my favorite so far.....can't wait for the next one.
I bow(ie) to you oh master mcClintock for your heavenly mash ups. Pandemic would be so unbearable if if wasn't for you the Doctor of Lifting up spirits 🥰🥰🥰🥰
These have gone from funny to simply impressive.
Impressive? Awe inspiring!
Oh they’ve always been impressive :)
@@lednails the original ones are hilarious. Impressive, sure, but the recent ones are more complex.

Is that why Bowie created “I am afraid of Americans” with Reznor, in the early 90’s?
I heard the breakup was because Rock Jones was banging Vrennas Ole lady
@@fredstriker2042 Well, can' blame him on that end ;-)

Bill, it’s your world. We just live in it.
"Fire" has officially gone straight from "light kissing" to full-on BDSM dungeon
I had chills when David Bowie made his entrance
Yes! 👏👏👏👏👏
Reminds me of Bowie/Reznor's "I'm afraid of Americans"... also an awesome song... wish they collaborated more....
Reznor and Bowie did coheadline a tour back in 1995 when Bowie was getting into his industrial period. Their collaboration on “Hurt” gives me chills.
that was truly incredible... the gods and godesses were smiling when that pairing happened
OOH MATRON!
I've come the conclusion over the past two years that Bill McClintock is the greatest mashup artist ever. So above the norm.
i agree
Yup! Calling a spade a spade. And rightly so "so above the norm" indeed!
ONE HUNDRED!
Same
Took you two years to figure that out? I came to that conclusion about halfway through the first song.
This channel already belongs in the Music Hall of Fame for a genre that doesn’t even exist yet
True that!!

I think my favourite part is "I want to "UUH!" you like an animal" ...thank you bill, you just saved 2020 and that in the last week.
Hear, hear!!!
Yes!!!!!
Isn't that exactly what Neil Cicierega did in his mashup
Microseconds. If it were off at all it would crash and burn, but it works so right.

You know how the gods never meant for humans to have fire? Pretty sure we were never meant to have Bill McClintock either
What kind of Faustian bargain has Mr. McClintock struck? This is unnaturally good.
The Bowie layer is perfect
The return of the Thin White Duke!
Its true should be a bowie based with ohio players
This is the horniest song ever

@@imustbeames3727 Yeah... Brilliant isn't it. 😈
The addition of Bowie pushed this from simply amazing to absolutely incredible.
This actually makes so much sense bc the “fame” riff was inspired by the “fire” riff
And Bowie was influenced by NIN in the 90's
Straight fame fire.
@@mopar_dude9227 true that

Truer words have never been spoken. This brightened up my day.
And his video edits are on a pro level also.
Dude's a genius!
this may be the sexiest mashup I’ve ever heard
DUUUDE ~ this ROCKS so hard, it made me cry, it was so beautiful. When Bowie stepped out, I Lost it!! SO GOOD

Hot DAMN, this slaps like a motherfucker. That bridge from Bowie just elevates the whole song to dark heavenly status.
Through the Fire and the Fame
Dope as hell..and that Bowie entry was clean and magical
Having mastered the auditory aspect of mashing-up, Bill moves onto utilizing every aspect of video footage for a coherent, storytelling treat. *****/5
It's a super freaky avant-funk slink-a-thon!!
Best thing to come out of Ohio (the Players were from Dayton, NIN Cleveland, and Bowie’s son went to college there) since...well...ever.
