    Frank Zappa AM Philadelphia - October 31, 1985 - WPVI Studios - 6ABC
    From my Master
    Tape#FZ4
**Sugar walls originally caused this upload to be blocked.
So 1:50 - 2:17 I muted in order to get the segment uploaded in its entirety.
Sorry about the reception. I wasn't home to monitor it, as I was in the audience for this.
So, I know Frank is going to be on 93.3 FM, WMMR that morning. Then I here he is going to be on AM Philadelphia. Awesome!
My boss at the time knew how much of a FZ freak I was, so he HAS TO LET ME schedule the day off. He has no choice! Haha! I call WPVI Studios for tickets, and they tell me I don't need tickets and take my name. Alright, all set!
That morning, I setup my double cassette deck and the VCR, and I start recording WMMR on cassette. Then hit the road. Shitty day. Was overcast, cold and windy early.
Picked up friends and head to WPVI on City Line Avenue. Park and start walking with album in hand. Get to the building entrance a guard asks for tickets. WHAT?!!! I was told I didn't need tickets! They took my name and I told them 3 people. He asks me my name and tells me he doesn't have it. Freaking out now!!! After a brief back and forth, he lets us in. Jezzus! Now were in. Fucking cool! Can't wait to see Frank!
We get seated in the audience, get the studio instructions when to applaud, keep quite, blah, blah, blah. And told to stay in the audience for the entire show. Felt like forever waiting for Frank to be bought out, and everyone erupted in applause when he appeared. Super to see Frank in action. Live on Stage at WPVI Studios!
Frank's segment ended, and he was escorted off the set when they broke for a commercial. I look at my friends, I look at the rest of the audience, kind of wondering, is everyone going to sit for the rest of the show, or see if we can find Frank and maybe get an autograph?
Fuck this, I'm looking for Frank! We had end row seats, so easy exit. Just about everyone else started getting up at the same time. Let's find Frank.
Now wandering the halls of WPVI. I spy Frank in a hallway as he heads to an exit with a bodyguard with him. I ask if he would sign my Shut Up And Play Yer Guitar Album, and he signs it for me, and hits the exit. WOW!
Chuck, we didn't know each other at the time, but I now know that it was you handling security that day. I swear you were in uniform. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
We get outside and lots of people congregating. A limo close by. Ah, must be for Frank.
As Frank exits the studio we form a line, and he shakes hands, poses for pictures (FUCK! You didn't think of a camera you idiot!!!) and signs more items. (Another DUH moment. I only bought one album with me. sigh...) I do get to shake his hand.
I got a brief moment in time with the man who has given me so much musical enjoyment, and I consider to be the greatest artist of my lifetime.
If you got his far, thanks for reading. Glad to share my little story of that day. It was a great day to remember.
    Miss you Frank.

Brian, I was providing security for Frank when he did this show. My wife Took our son Josh out of school and drove him down to Philadelphia so he could meet Frank. After the shown we all met in the studio and Frank asked Maureen what she thought of his music? Without missing a beat, she replied that Josh was taught about masterbation at home he didn’t need to hear it on a record. Frank was actually very calm and explained his thoughts on the subject. I personally wanted to craw under a rock.

I can't help but understand what you're saying. Of course, you could also say that so much that's controversial today was always bubbling under the surface and eventually just couldn't be kept down anymore, despite our efforts to keep it swept under the rug. In fact, you could even say that FZ was trying to remind us of what was there.

The whole question of censorship relates to; should information be kept from someone that is in a position to make a decision, or form an opinion, regarding a particular topic, or should you rely on someone else to do your thinking for you and make the decision of what's in your best interest. The question comes down to; how much do you trust the motivations of other people..

Mf doesn’t know Frank Zappa at all. He’s said himself that the greatest threat to democracy is not communism, but the marching towards a fascist theocracy. We are living in a nation that was bought at sold to Israel for the sake of Zionism by right-wing, Christian fundamentalist politicians and supported by liberal careerists. Joe Biden is a right-wing fascist, through and through. The guy supported every war we’ve gotten into, and wrote the 1994 Crime Bill. You need to get off Fox News.

The word "Sugarwall" cracked me up and all the other absurd lyrics were just a joke. Who could take this stuff seriously enough to need a tranquilizer? Frank slyly alluded to the dumbing down of kids by government neglect of education as a far more serious problem than pop lyrics. When Frank left the building early before George Carlin, America's I.Q. dropped a few points (which explains much of the mayhem we are witness to today in Foxxed up Amerika).

There's nothing wrong with a parent listening to music with their child and teaching them what they're listening to or interpreting what there hearing , it's actually quite good for them and it's good for their meantal health development, I have also been teaching my son to spot propaganda in music to, it doesn't take a lot of work to sit there and press play as a musician and a producer I encourage parents to do this, I've also taken the liberty of listening to I want to say children and young adults, records that have been recorded and put on apps a lot of these mp3 apps have those sections a lot of propaganda in regards to a certain group of people in the United States that have had a heavy influence in the music business children don't need gender-neutral music I'm sorry or gender-neutral lyrics because it really gets on my bad side when I hear music being recorded and weaponized by the government, I have also noticed this on children's television applications on our Smart TVs on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr I don't know maybe a certain almost actual television star decided to make you very propagandist children's cartoon called tiny chef show, No we're not cool with it and I'm not one of those parents that keep their mouth shut either, I'm about to rip a seven-year-old son at work very hard to keep him safe and healthy to the best of one's ability without intruding on his development.

If your child does not want to sit down pretty much even when you're being serious and you're actually interested in doing something with them that says a lot on you as a parent, you got to try it doesn't matter how many times they say no you have to try my son is 7 right now in 2023 so it's my obligation whether he wants to or not to try and sit there and listen to music with him to watch a TV show with him because you never know? Society sucks because they always win the fight because you don't have democracy and there's no such thing as democracy you have to put that in the home, democracy is technically make believe it's an idea somebody added an idea long time ago or down on a piece of paper for you to remember for generations, so you don't lose the fact of morality and principality being the foundation of the decision-making whether it's politics how society behaves what makes it tick, there's a lot of propaganda right now ladies and gentlemen get on it it's 2023 it's propaganda time, also the United States is just as broke as it's ever been an American history with the debt ceiling higher than ever before, no I don't want my son growing up to be a transgender weenije who's overly sensitive so I get on the ball and try to be the best dad I can , I'm sorry to put it that way that last statement and if it hurts your feelings. Your not hearing me , it's actually in the Communist manifesto, a lot of what you're seeing now today with lgbtq children's clothing in lgbtq toys for kids that's part of the Communist manifesto to obliterate the nuclear family just want to put that out there, doesn't mean I hate you doesn't mean I don't like you and you shouldn't do this or that because I don't like you or your ideas with the way you live your life? A lot of us parents especially dads are just looking out for our son's future young men of this country, why I'm bringing this up in the comments consistently is because that's the target audience now for a lot of the propaganda that we're witnessing especially in the school system and in the children's healthcare system .
