Italian engineering from one of the oldest shipyards and most important in Europe. Well done Italy, still producing your own ships.
Still? We produce navy army for usa, indonesia, sud korea, greece and egypt.
I suppose it is an hybrid ship unable to cover the expected roles. Why do not copy directly an American class or Spanis/Australian lhd class (cheaper and more effective than trieste) ? Why do not propose an improved cavour class as italy, overall, will buy 30 vstol f35? Even if they are planned to be in service when in Usa F35 will be retired 😑
@@antoniothom482 that's probably the main reason, Jack-of-all-trades but master of none.
@@nicholaosperackis7390 It's true, the future US Navy frigates will be based on Italian FREMM and built by a Fincantieri controlled shipyard, Indonesia bought 6 FREMMs, Egypt did the same and we're pushing to sell them to Greece as well.
@@antoniothom482 because the Cavour isn't a Lhd and the Italian Navy needed an amphibious capital ship to replace the 3 small and ageing Lpd's from the San Giorgio class.
undoubtedly Italian Marina Militare is the best navy in Europe
Italy always builds good looking ships. Well done !
1:37 the 33,000t full load displacement declared back when the ship was launched has now turned out to be 38,000t, as officially stated by the Navy during the recent sea trials sessions.
Well done Italy, wish the RN had a couple of these! Also pleased to see you as a member of the Tempest team 🇬🇧🇮🇹🇸🇪💪

Great video on a great ship! The Trieste will double the capability of the Cavour, giving to Italy the most powerful navy of the EU
Maybe France a bit bigger ??
Il doppio del Cavour? Forse volevi dire del Garibaldi.
@@RJM1011 only an Aircraft carrier with 4th gen fighters, less and less armed frigates, the Italian Navy is better
@@RJM1011 Yes, the French Navy is bigger but needs to be deployed worldwide and not just in the Mediterranean. Very soon France and Italy will have to join forces to take care of the Turks so we’d better get ready, the Trieste will be a good deterrent.
@@a.b.6233 Yes maybe some of the French aircraft have crashed in Mali I found this out as the RAF helped them out at the crash site.
These multi purpose ships are great.👍
to a point!
@@keithmoore5306 they are mainly meant for close to shore operations. We use the LPD's a lot in our overseas territories, mainly disaster relief. We aren't allowed to say colonies anymore 😉
@@jacksonteller1337 my point was a lot seem to think they can replace a carrier and dedicated supply vessels them and save money! in their intended roles yeah they're great but don't forget what that role is!
@@keithmoore5306 we spent billions on a military vessel that so far has only achieved humanitarian relief operations. An important task but not something that couldn't have been left to a Merci ship. the Trieste has a displacement of 38.000 tonnes as the Italian navy has recently said.

Thank you, Dung Tran for this update. Hopefully the Trieste will make a visit one day to the Indo-Pacific region and visit Danang.
the new Oto Melara 127 mm rapid fire cannon with dart ammo would be a great video! the Germans are testing this cannon, it can hit targets 80km away with a 5m precision!
Italy Is the only country in the world with USA and UK to be able to deploy F35 on the Aircraft Carriers. From last year our Cavour class Is able, but in the next years also the Trieste Will be able to deploy them.. :) Is an LHD but the ramped point of the bridge was build for study if can also be a good Aircraft Carrier, although F35s have vertical landing anyway :)
I hope this ship can defend the peace of the Mediterranean and Europe in the future. Deal a heavy blow to any barbarian.
...rivedere la sigla della mia vecchia nave "Grado" fa un pò di effettto....BELLISSIMA!!
Not gonna lie this is very cute and Beautiful like Mini queen elizabeth Aircraft carrier! :D Great work Italy!
Trieste is not a landing site for helicopters. She is an aircraft carrier !!!!!!!!
Another good report from Dung Tran. Great channel.
I just read an article that the Italian navy not only intends to equip the trieste and the cavour of f35 and helicopters but also of the brand new version drones equal to the American Q9 that carry 16 helfire missiles twice the Q9 reaper and that can take off from less than 240 meters... For now it is only a hypothesis
It's true! Greetings from Italy 😉
Most of the images were filmed in La Spezia gulf.
The gulf is filled of Navy installations.
The Trieste was moored in the east zone in Muggiano shipyard for final works.
At 1:38 it’s the COMSUBIN, base of italian Navy frogmen/special forces INCURSORI
At 0:55 it’s the siluripedio/balipedio of punta Castagna where italian Navy test artillery pieces since the end of XVIII century.
The tunnels are filled with sand ; the guns shoot inside for testing.
On the heights that surround the gulf there are 20 XVIII cent. forts and about 20 artillery batteries; most of them now abandoned.
At the end of the gulf is the Arsenale, the largest Navy installation in the north of Italy.
I think it’s obvious to say that i live in La Spezia……..

Excellent ship. Pity about the guy talking /trying to talk English stuffs up the presentation

The Italians always seem to pack a lot of capability in a smaller hull than others
It's an LHD my friend ,same for other country ,full fill multirole or multitasking with only one ship.
@@rudespo8701 yes I was aware it's an LHD

Always ready to do our part. 🇮🇹👍
The amount of LHD and SVTOL carriers that NATO and non-NATO US Allies are building, F-35B STVTOL , will be the most numerous F-35 variant. F-35C is downright exotic, used only by USN and few USMC squadrons assigned to CVN Carrier air wings.
