Guys I've been following you (Ascension) for 7 years . These videos of Fr Mike have seen me through my conversion to Catholicism, my early adulthood, my parents' divorce, my mental illness, my cancer diagnosis, my first non-secular relationship and now my marriage. This is without a doubt the most powerful video yet. I needed to hear this as much now as I did on day 1.
Dear Fr. Mike Schmitz, I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of your beloved mother. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Losing a parent is a profound loss, and I can only imagine the depth of sorrow you must be feeling. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. As you navigate through this time of mourning, I pray that you find solace in the memories you shared with your dear mother. May the love, wisdom, and guidance she bestowed upon you be a source of comfort and strength in the days ahead. May her spirit continue to shine through the lives she touched, including yours, as a testament to the beautiful person she was. In honor of your mother's life, I offer this prayer: "Dear Heavenly Father, We come before You with heavy hearts, seeking Your loving presence to console and uplift Fr. Mike Schmitz during this time of loss. We thank You for the gift of his mother's life and the impact she had on so many. May her soul find eternal rest in Your loving embrace. Grant Fr. Mike the strength to endure this season of grief. Surround him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and shower him with Your unwavering love. May he find comfort in the support of family, friends, and the wider community who share in his sorrow. Heavenly Father, fill Fr. Mike's heart with cherished memories of his mother, allowing those memories to bring him comfort and healing. Help him to find solace in knowing that she has returned to You, and that her legacy will continue to live on through him. We humbly ask for Your grace and guidance as Fr. Mike navigates this journey of mourning. Grant him the courage to lean on You, to seek Your wisdom, and to trust in Your divine plan. In the midst of his grief, may he experience the gentle reassurance of Your abiding presence. Father, we trust in Your mercy and love, and we place Fr. Mike Schmitz and his family in Your caring hands. May You grant them peace and strength in the days to come. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen." Fr. Mike, please remember that you are not alone in this challenging time. Countless people, including myself, are here to support you with love, prayers, and any assistance you may need. May you find comfort and healing as you lean on your faith and the love of those around you. With deepest sympathy and prayers,

I've been hearing "God loves you" 7:25 very often, but the way Fr Mike delivered it is so moving...with silence in between that gives time to process and let those words sink in....thank you Fr Mike.
It is so liberating to know that I don’t have to - and can’t - be “good enough,” but instead that I can rely on a Love outside myself that is good enough, and which gives itself to me unconditionally. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit!
Thanks Fr. Mike. I always forget this. I get so caught up in my own head, my fear of damnation, and wanting to do what I want that I forget his love or confuse it with presumption of His mercy. I know I also lack a concept of love being a selfish and scrupulous addict, so I often associate love with approval. If I believe God is approving of what I do, I am loved. If I refuse to listen, He is not happy with me, and I am damned. I pray for all who feel this way, that we may truly understand His love and what this verb actually means.
I’m Borderline and I’m not a sociopath. I do feel guilty when I don’t do the right thing. I have a strong moral compass. Please don’t bring people with BPD down.
Unfortunately, I think he was negatively influenced by the shrink who misdiagnosed Amber Heard as BPD when she was obviously NPD. She's a sociopath actress who fooled and misled the shrink.
I wouldn’t fault him for not understanding the DSM. It’s not his wheelhouse. The important part is that we’re never good enough on our own regardless of what we do or are made of
Wow, what an incredible video Fr! It is SO important for us to get this-it's easy to forget this truth...God loves us, even in our imperfections, and we cannot be "good enough", as we think , and don't need to be to get God's love, as it's already there! as you said, "ferociously" !! Thank you Fr Mike ! 🙏
For real. This is awful misinformation and honestly very judge mental of mental illnesses. I’m not sure why a catholic priest would say something like that.
I don’t think he’s trying to be judgemental towards mental illness - as someone who has had struggles with particular mental illness. I think he’s clarifying that someone who does not feel guilty for having done something to cause harm is generally a sign of a certain mental disorder. Not always, but there are certain mental disorders in which people lack the capacity to feel guilt for wrong doing. That’s what he is comparing to for someone who does not have the ability to feel guilt. I’m not saying this to dismiss feelings, however I think it’s fair to clarify what he is actually trying to do in this video so we do not mislead people in thinking he is intentionally trying to be judgemental And that is not to judge people who have mental disorder/illness. Yes, he made a wrong statement saying borderline. he also said it with not 100% clarity if you focus on his tone. He made a mistake. As we all do. I think if the main focus is to be hurt by him mentioning mental illness in relation to not feeling guilt is all one received from this video or making it the main focus, then the point of the video is missed. God loves you, as you are, with mental illness or without. Even if someone is a sociopath who cannot feel guilt or empathy, God still loves them so intensely that he is always calling them back to himself. No matter what you have done, or experienced in this life, God is always going to love you and fight to bring you back to himself, no matter what. One is not any less in His eyes, regardless of action or feeling. Focus on the good of this message. God loves you, no matter what.
@@meganrubano2724i think a humble and loving father like him doesn't intend to hurt anyone with his words. Father is not an expert in psychology, he is a religious man, a Man of God and His people. And he is there to instruct His people, he used an analogy to convey a point, but made a mistake. Do not be caught up in the little stain outside the water bottle, look whether the water inside is pure to drink, focus on his message. Please be more careful with your words and make sure you are not being one before you call someone "judgemental". I wish you peace and happiness.
@@meganrubano2724He's not educated on which disorder is which, he was just trying to imply "whatever disorder that is where you don't feel guilt", it was a mild joke. You shouldn't feel injured by it, that's something to work on.
So beautiful and so true. God's love is something that I've failed to understand for so long. He just wants us to let Him into our hearts and our lives and to trust in His Divine love for us, no matter our condition. We need to stop comparing ourselves too much to other saints. God has called us all to live in different ways. And He has given us all different graces to live His will in our lives. No two lives will ever look alike. Thanks Fr. Mike for bringing me back to God's love so many times throughout the years. And thanks to your mother for that wonderful advice about guilt that will provide clarity to thousands of hearts. -God is not calling us all to the same life (mother Theresa, etc) to pray the same- and shedding light on "catholic guilt". Light bulb moments! Thank you Father Mike.
I needed to hear this message. I felt so guilty of not praying as I use too. I had to travel overseas to take care of my sick brother & sister in law. Thank you Abba for loving me even though I don’t pray as I use too. I need You Father and want to love You the same way as you love me. 🙏
Becoming part of the Catholic Church helped me with my overwhelming guilt, false guilt as you would say. I don't live up to my expectations, but I don't stop trying every day to be worthy of his sacrifice. I've never felt abandoned by him because I fell short. I know each day I wake up, he's given me another chance to do better.
This was a good one. I have a past, history is there, regret is there and shame is there. I always wondered if God would continue loving someone like me or if he would just tolerate me or not want me. This was what I needed to hear today. I may not still believe it 100% but I’m trying my best.
That was incredibly powerful. To attempt to understand how deeply God loves us alters our lives. Love the insight that this is not just something we say to children. Thank you, Father Mike!
Minute 7:27-7:46=❤ Thank for Fr. Mike for being a vessel of God's love for His people. What a blessing to call our Lord Abba and for Him to use you to bless the Body of Christ--every timid little one of us, every muddy sinner who just longs to be free to love God as he has loved us . ❤ Letting God love us as He wants to might oddly be one of the hardest things to do. 🙏
Holy is our Lord our God, all the praise and glory and honor is His now and forever. Praise be to Jesus Christ our Lord. May God bless y’all prayers out for y’all. We humbly pray and wish all of this in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior’s Holy Name, Amen.
Father you are so good. I’m sure you have no idea the number of people that you reach every day. The words that you say aren’t just words said they are a testament to you. Our love for us through God. I’m a maniac on Wednesday afternoon waiting for your ascension words drop for the week. I’ve been known to drop what I’m doing as soon as I see that picture because I have to hear what you have to say. You beat yourself up a lot. You may not be the best and I say this to my kids, I said it to my kids you may not be the best little boy in the world, but you are far far far from the worst blessing you this weekend and always keeping you in my prayers.
Father Mike, Thank you! This video is just what I needed tonight. God's timing is spot on. Yes, God, love me just as I am . May God Bless you Father Mike.
Could the "Catholic guilt" just mean that the faith is teaching morals? I love how your mom put it!!! Thanks mom😊 I have been struggling with this for quite some time (feeling loved), I don't think God even tolerates me, I just don't feel it at all. But, to be honest, I don't think I know what love is. I love, but I don't know what it means to be loved. In my experience, it means abuse, neglect etc..... I am working with my spiritual director, I am truly trying...thank you for this video.
I have felt the same way, like I was never loved, just abused, rejected and crushed. It's helpful to look for God's blessings, however scant, and be thankful for them. At least, we didn't turn into narcissists. Thank God!!!
I am a practicing catholic and a physician and I have a daughter with Borderline Personality Disorder( BPD). When Father refers to not feeling guilt, he’s referring to either a sociopath or psychopathy. A person with BPD sees things in a “ black and white way” and has a strong fear of abandonment. BPD gets better as they get older and it is usually related to having had some trauma in childhood. Diagnosis of this condition can be difficult since it is associated with multiple other psychiatric problems. A sociopath in some cases may experience guilt.
Father Mike - absolutely your best ever. Those few seconds at 7:09 were amazing. I'm finding myself in one of those "Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor ... then come, follow me" moments. This is one I'm going to be going back to on a regular basis.
Do you understand that this priest is presenting teachings that are not only unbiblical, but anti-biblical? So what if we see emotions at 7:09? Truth is NOT determined by feelings or emotions.
Oh boy, you hit the nail on the head, as a caretaker, always have guilt,I pray, the rosary is my secret weapon…if I’d only pray it more faithfully…how I look forward to your UA-cam videos,Thankyou Father Mike. You are remembered in my prayers daily…..

Preach, Father!! "God's love is not soft, it is ferocious." "He won't settle for anything less than our absolute best and... our letting Him win our hearts back!" "He loves you, even though you are not good enough."
I am not a fan of this priest but I did really appreciate this message. I often find his fast talking to be almost like a car salesman but he actually stopped and then said God loves me as I am. The first time I felt that I was worthy even though I was a sinner.
Its like scrupulosity. I was struggling with this, but after my last confession Im trying to trust in our Lord that He loves me and will meet me where I am. Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me a sinner 🙏🏽Jesus I trust in Your Devine Mercy. You have my heart forever.
I've only known of these videos for past maybe 2 months. Didn't know they existed. Had a very difficult time since a long time ago, displaced and misunderstood and also myself make errors, but things leading to hardship. These videos can help a bit. It's amazing even being brought up Catholic how hard it is to get guidance but these videos come some of the way to assist in being a bit more thoughtful. Thanks Fr.
Slippery slope Fr Mike. God has called us to pray everyday. Why wouldn’t anyone make 30 minutes everyday to visit with their best friend who loves them more than the people in their house.
I'm a cradle Catholic but never had "Catholic guilt." I always had recourse to confession and the Act of Contrition since I was 7 years old. The Catholic Church gives us the SURE MEANS to get RID of guilt.
Thank you for this video! There are so many Catholics that believe they “earn” heaven. After studying the Bible I have learned that your salvation is a gift and our response to that gift with genuine faith is what gets you there. Jesus took our punishment. Trust in Him and put Him at the center of your life! When he is in charge, there is no more guilt! ❤
This is quite good, but one small detail is that the personality disorder you're thinking of is _Antisocial_ Personality Disorder, rather than Borderline. People who have Antisocial Personality Disorder are often colloquially referred to as sociopaths, and lack empathy. iirc, BPD is more about emotional dysregulation, and they are perfectly capable of guilt and remorse. Having known someone who had BPD, "sociopath" is definitely not the word I would use to describe that person.
Thank you. I'm getting to the end of the RCIA and most of my fellows study much more and are much more knowledgeable and more involved in the church. I do what I can but I have a very demanding job and am sole carer for an elderly parent. I try my best to compensate such as silently praying the rosary on my way to work on my bike. This video is very helpful.
This was so needed. I've recently been diagnosed with BPD ("quiet" type) and I've struggled with mental health all my life. I'm glad I understand myself better with having the correct diagnosis, but it's been really difficult to come to terms with. I believe in God and it's hard and I'm scared to let go. Part of BPD is fear of abandonment, and there's this part of me that says, "what if you let go and then He leaves?" I know it's not a logical thought for a Catholic because God does love us all. I'll save this video for the times I need it most. Thank you so much. 💙
Thank you, n God Bless you Fr. Mike. Based on that hint of elderly comment...the elderly do need more help. Where are the holy people that can act as P.O.A.s for the ones that have no living relatives? So many still attend daily Mass, yet they cannot trust just anyone, an they cling on to independence so they are not left in a state are facility. I am praying for a solution that the Church officials provide care support for the holy elderly. They don't want to be left in the hands of pagans.
God is the best friend I have and i love him so much. I know I am not worthy but he still loves me every day and that's all that matters in my life. I do feel guilt at times that I am at fault but its so good to hear these talks and then i get back on track again - thankyou God bless to all the beautiful souls out there in the world.
I have a print on my wall: Hesed The consistent, merciful, kind, ever-faithful, restless, constantly-pursuing, lavish, extravagant, unrestrained, furious love of God.

Thank you for this video, Father. It’s important. ❤
I really needed to hear all of this today. Today was a rough day mentally and emotionally. “Will you let God love you where you are RIGHT NOW?”
I told a friend recently that I am converting to Catholicism and they prompt said ‘get ready for all the misery and guilt’, but I feel joyful and excited.
Am I a good person?
You sure do listen to The Holy Spirit Fr Mike!! Your videos are exactly what hurting, broken & even healthy hearts & minds need to hear!!! God bless, keep & give you even more grace!!❤️🙏🤗😇
I so needed to hear every word of this. It’s like you climbed into my thoughts and into my heart. I will never be good enough to earn my way to Heaven but Jesus did it for me. Jesus loves me just as I am. Amen. Thank you so much.
I go to church now and I just cry! I don't understand why others don't get it. And I am just in Awe of God's love and Jesus Christ. And people think I am just crying bc of grief after losing my daugther. 😢 I can't explain it to others so when I go to confession and call it anger. I can't stop the tears. ❤ !
@@Roman-Labrador NO he loves you too. Just allow him to love you like Fr Mike invited us.
sometimes; not always; tears just form quickly; and build up. i know how you feel. maybe since i am doing the rosary; at that time; i was feeling the VM.
"Let God's love penetrate the cracks of my heart." I love this so much...
Beautiful...just beautiful; he loves, we must respond.
I am a good person but people use me or I wasted my good love for nothing! 😔
I’m praying and hope Ascenion and you guys can pray for me! That someone loves for me for who I am.
And I love this girl named Bernadette ❤️ that God brings us together.
Lifting you and Bernadette up in prayer.
Prayers that you and Bernadette will be together if it is God’s will. May you get a chance to practice your virtues together with her. 🙏🙏🙏
Seek the things of heaven first and all these things will be given you pressed down and shaken together yet know there are more tears cried over answered prayer than unanswered prayer.
@@GMAAndy333 amen she’s the reason I love adoration and confession more ❤️ and why I love Jesus.
seek as you are doing; in due time everything will fall into place. always put time for God too.
WOW, this one was really POWERFUL!!! ♥️♥️♥️ THANKS FR MIKE
I've been hearing "God loves you" 7:25 very often, but the way Fr Mike delivered it is so moving...with silence in between that gives time to process and let those words sink in....thank you Fr Mike.
Yes !❤ God you have my permission to love me. Praise to you Our Lord Jesus Christ ✝️
It is so liberating to know that I don’t have to - and can’t - be “good enough,” but instead that I can rely on a Love outside myself that is good enough, and which gives itself to me unconditionally. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit!
I’m not good at letting people love me ! I’ll try to let Him love me
Thanks Fr.
Thanks for this. Just awful for a catholic father to say this.
Thank you Fr. Mike. May God bless you. It's hard to believe that God loves us this way...give me faith, Lord
Been listening to Fr. Mike for a while now before my school day starts, his messages help me go throughout my day with God. Thank you father!
This is deeply beautiful. ❤
This video made me realize how much Graceful and Merciful God is ♥️♥️
Thanks Fr. Mike for being so enthusiastic about God!
Great video Fr Mike! A little correction to prevent misinformation, it’s Antisocial Personality Disorder, not Borderline ☺️
An honest mistake probably but watch out for clerics. They don’t have any special spiritual powers - don’t let them try to make you think they do.
God Bless 🙏🫶
There is none good but God. Love this message
Fr. Mike, it's easy to tell the Holy Spirit works through you on a daily basis! You seem to have the words many need to hear, including me. Thank you for sharing your gift of faith and your enthusiasm 11:19. God bless 🙌 you.
What a powerful message. I never thought of it. That way. Thank you father Mike you enlighten me every day. God bless you.
Fr. Mike I love your passion for our Lord and the way you spread the word of His love for us. ❤🙏 I want God's ferocious love!
God bless you Fr. Mike! Thank you for your vocation! Thank you for being there for us!
I needed to hear this today Father Mike. Thank you.
This made me cry in a good way- in a beautifully sad way.
Father Mike, Thank you! This video is just what I needed tonight. God's timing is spot on. Yes, God, love me just as I am . May God Bless you Father Mike.
Could the "Catholic guilt" just mean that the faith is teaching morals? I love how your mom put it!!! Thanks mom😊
I have been struggling with this for quite some time (feeling loved), I don't think God even tolerates me, I just don't feel it at all.
Thank you farther Mike for your help 😊
Really needed to hear this. Thank you for always wording things in a way that is so much easier to understand. We all love you too Father Mike.
Father Micheal please pray for me, for my good mental health
I am a practicing catholic and a physician and I have a daughter with Borderline Personality Disorder( BPD). When Father refers to not feeling guilt, he’s referring to either a sociopath or psychopathy. A person with BPD sees things in a “ black and white way” and has a strong fear of abandonment. BPD gets better as they get older and it is usually related to having had some trauma in childhood. Diagnosis of this condition can be difficult since it is associated with multiple other psychiatric problems. A sociopath in some cases may experience guilt.
A Sociopath or Pschopath tend not to have real empathy, so would rarely have guilty feelings, totally different to BPD.
Thank you. I needed to hear this. And of course YES YES YES!!!! God Bless 🙏🏻
God bless you Father Mike thank you for your words of wisdom and enlightening my brain and heart!
I’m praying for you please pray for me!!!!
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕💕💕💕
Wow. This was powerful - had to listen to it several times to let it soak in. But still - very difficult to fully grasp. Excellent!
Wow..I think we all needed to hear this today..This brought me to tears!🥰
It’s such a gift.. to be loved by The King, “I AM”, Our God and Dear Lord! An amazing extraordinary Blessing!
Thank You Jesus for loving me with all my flaws and imperfections ✝️🙏🏻🌹❤️
Preach, Father!! "God's love is not soft, it is ferocious." "He won't settle for anything less than our absolute best and... our letting Him win our hearts back!" "He loves you, even though you are not good enough."
Love Ascension Presents! And Hi Fr.Mike! ( 1st! Person.)
Powerful 😮 Thank you 😊
Thank you Heavenly Father for loving me. How can I serve You? 🙏
O glorious THRONE of GRACE, IMMACULATE HEART of MARY, MOST FAITHFUL SPOUSE of the HOLY SPIRIT, TRIUMPH & REIGN in ALL hearts +
Thanks Fr.
This might be my favorite Fr. Mike video ever. Perfect.
Thank you for these videos Fr Mike.
I really appreciate how you explain things. It does make a difference.
Thank you Father Mike for your wisdom, and thank you Father in Heaven for loving me even in my imperfection 🙏
"God loves you in a way that is ferocious..." He is jealous to have us in heaven with Him! Jesus is the one who is going to get us there.
Yes l take your love Lord God and please love me!🙏
This is so beautiful! 🥹 Thank you, Fr. Mike.🙏
Thank you Fr Mike. You hit the nail on the head and right when I needed it the most. Thank you Jesus 👏
Thank you for this message Father Mike. WOW ❤ so powerful and touching. Thank you!!
To all Ascension presents..
Thank you so much❤
Thank you for this video!
Thank you
Word.
Great video! I feel the Holy Spirit put this video in front of me because I needed it!
