Stephanie I am so proud of you. I am in my mid 70s and finally went to see a therapist this past year. What a difference it has made. None of us is perfect and nor are we expected to be is one of the lessons that I have learned. Bravo You🎉
Thank you Stephanie for being real.I suffer from anxiety and depression also. We have had the worse year, 2024, between my hubby and me both being dx with cancer and then our daughter, 55, passed away suddenly in sept. I am still battling. Bless you for sharing your life.❤
I am so very sad to hear you have been having depression, anxiety in your life. I have been there and done that so I completely understand your dilemma. Glad you are back! Be kind to yourself!!! Piece and love, Vicki Robles💕💕💕
Thank you for sharing your mental health journey with the world in such detail. You help normalize seeking help, as well as normalize how long of a journey it is. I heard your interview with Karen Brown of Just Get It Done Quilts, and now this video. Bravo, Stephanie! I'm cheering for you and looking forward to your new videos!
Thank you for being real. So glad you took time to take care of yourself. You're kids will benefit from seeing a mom who recognizes her mental health's value to herself, her family and the world!
So thankful that you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. God bless you and your journey, especially in taking care of you. I'm sure He has wonderful things in store for your future. Your willingness to be open and share your story is appreciated by many, I'm sure. Keep walking in faith!
Thank you for today eposide, life stages can be so overwhelming at times, comunity is everything, be you, be on fire, and share your quilting, it is a meditative to the soul.
Welcome back! My heart broke for you when you had to back away. But your health is what matters. Panels, did someone say panels????? My fav. Can't wait for the book and the tutorials.
I taught myself to cross stitch because I needed another outlet to keep my hands busy and my mind quiet. I absolutely love sewing but sometimes I just want to sit on the couch but still be creative. I love that you’re healing and I love that you’re open and honest about how hard the mental health journey is. The most important thing is to never give up. Celebrate all the wins no matter how small. Can’t wait for more content ❤
Thank you for sharing your mental health journey and the updates on continuing to introduce us to sew techniques. Hugs to you and family and I am sure your kids are happy to have more time with you :). Also, people need to hear the importance of advocating for themselves and their healthcare.
Welcome back! Like many, you taught me to quilt! I love all of the new and wide ranging ideas. I agree with slowing down and enjoying the process. It is a blessing to have you back. Keep doing the cruises - I can’t do Alaska, but hopefully the next one.
Truly happy that you are feeling better. Your Friday night sew-ins with Chantal are the highlight of my week. I was a member of the Stashin with Stephanie club from the beginning and have been trying to make one a month. Your tutorials are fantastic. You are amazingly talented. I am an anxious, over-thinker and being honest with your doctor is a must. So very proud of you! ❤
Welcome back! So glad you are taking care of you and your loved ones. ❤ you were missed. I’ve always appreciated your quilting skills and tips and tricks. Looking forward to hearing about your other creative outlets!! ❤❤
So good to see you again Stephanie . Anxiety is very real - glad you have been able to heal yourself -it’s a work in progress but good for you to address it and get help. You look great - you still embody the passion you have always shown about quilting - thanks for sharing and being so honest . Good luck !
I am so thrilled you are back as I have really missed you! You are so right about having a support group as I lost my husband a year ago in Switzerland and my quilting friends were so there for me and my church was also there. You are right that sometimes people just need to be there and they don’t need to talk but just be there and let you know you aren’t alone! When our Quilt Guild has a show I always enter a quilt for the judges comments on what I area I need to improve. I am so looking forward to learning new ways to get better outcomes with my quilting! Please know there are a lot of people out there who so enjoyed the time we spent with you! Looking forward to your next video! Yeah 👏🥰
Good for you! You’re a warrior! The economy is going to bounce back now. Who knows where your business is going to go once that happens. I’d love to cruise with you! A quilt cruise is the best fun!
Well done for not giving up, you are a strong woman and you’ve got this. Depression is a deep hole to climb out from, I have been there myself. Take care x
So happy to see your video today! I’m a quilter because of you. I did your beginners quilt series and taught myself how to quilt. I never would have had the courage to do it without your amazing videos!! I also have anxiety/depression so I am so glad that you took the time to take care of yourself. Can’t wait to quilt “with” you again!! -Brandy
Thank you for sharing such a personal journey and taking the time you’ve needed to heal. You and your family first. All the best and may you continue to work through your emotional recovery with positivity.
Looking forward to all of your future endeavors! Best advice I've heard to help move forward was from Suzanne Somers after she lost her home to a fire with all of her acting memorabilia in it: "What you were doesn't matter. You have to be happy with who you are." Blessings to you and your family.
So proud of you and glad things are getting better. You taught me to make my 1st quilt! Your a wonderful teacher and such a blessing to so many of us that want to learn to quilt. God bless 😊
Thank you for bravely sharing your journey with us. It helps to know that we are not alone. No matter how far we are in our journey it never really goes away it just becomes manageable. And for those times when we feel we will not come back or will not dig out of the hole, it always seems to help to hear others stories, share our own stories, and most importantly reach out for help and know it’s only temporary.
Sending you prayers, positive thoughts and love. The depression/anxiety struggle is real. I saw your interview with Karen Brown and your story resonated with me. Quilting is my therapy and you have a huge support network with your followers. We are grateful for whatever you have to offer. I can’t wait to buy your book ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this mental information. I've lost motivation to sew. I feel over whelmed with my "Happie Space". All I can say is Thank You. You are in my prayers.
Comments like yours are the reason I open up. Not everything is the unicorns and rainbows version you see of people online. We all struggle. I hope you can get back to your happy place too.
I’m so happy you have had the strength to face these challenges head on and share your journey. May there be many brighter days ahead for you and your family. I’m so glad to see your passion and fire rekindled!
Looking forward to new content. 😊 Glad you spent time getting to know, bettering and healing yourself. You don’t owe anyone anything, but good to catch up and appreciate the update. Enjoy the new journey and path you are on. Don’t measure against the past and just pave your new future. ❤️
So glad you are back. Missed your site. I learned quite a bit from your show. I remember when you were on your porch and then went to the basement. I made my first bag watching you. I know mental health, involving depression and anxiety can be a challenge to overcome. I support you 100%. Big HUG to you. God Bless I look forward to coming back to your site.
thank you for voicing what so many of us feel, I'm so happy for you moving forward. life is a journey, not a race. Keep up the good work. I'll be looking forward to new content when you are ready.
Ohhh the part where you talked about getting your hair and makeup done so you can film a video really resonates. Man, when we are in the throws of anxiety and depression, just getting a shower and nothing else can be such a chore. Keep going sister you’ve come a long way and your story is only going to get better.
Thank you for being brave enough to share your journey. I also have dealt with anxiety/ depression, and still need my medication. Sewing is wonderful therapy. I'm so glad to see you are back. I love your videos. I still have many of the Stashin' quilts to make!
Hi Stephanie. I am so glad to see you back and also I am so happy that you are doing better. Balancing life can be hard. Self care is super important. Thank you for your honesty. Our mental health is so important. Got to stay on top of that. Looking forward. 😄
So happy that you are back! I’ve bought your books and have made numerous quilts from your books. I love your style of quilting and hope you have a few more of your patterns to share.
So happy to see you back and happy! I am currently struggling mentally and am glad to see you coming out on the other side. You also have taught me so much about quilting (which I started a few years ago for my mental health). Wish I could go on the cruise, but I am the primary caregiver for my husband who has ALS. I don’t feel like I can plan things just yet. Again, I am very happy for you!
Thank you so much for your comment. I am glad quilting has been a positive part of your own mental health journey. The organization I work for now helps connect caregivers with resources in their area to help them avoid burnout. Have you considered respite care or home healthcare to help give you the time and space you need for yourself?
So happy to see you smiling again. I’m thankful that you took the time to heal and now you have your fire back! I’ve been where you were also, so can totally relate, but I, too, am in a good place. Looking forward to spending time with you in this next chapter.
So thankful you are back, and working on your self needs. I admire you for yet, again, letting yourself show your vurnability, as you move forward in healing.
Sorry you've been struggling - Depression is a beast. (One I fight, too.) I think it's really great that you're willing to be open about your mental health challenges, because the more of us that are willing to do that, the less of a stigma it will have. So glad to see you again - loved seeing you talk on Just Get It Done Quilts. Take care of yourself. 🥰
This was so wonderful to hear. Such good advice. I was my own advocate to drop some meds and it's a fight girl!!! Such a warrior! I'm excited about your panel book. Let us know when it's available !!
I'm happy to see you. I love your quilts and fabrics. Take time for yourself. I think you are a very creative person. I understand you know wanted to have quilting as a job. I'm to hear you're doing other things outside of quilting. Thank you for making me happy over the years. I don't comment a lot on here, but I just wanted to let you know I'm always checking on you.
Your hair is also back and 100% on point today! (this is in no way a statement about past hair, just noticing it's wonderful today). Edit: Also, good on you for doing the hard things. As someone who has had rather a bit of a dramatic mental health journey once I personally stopped trying to pretend I could hold it all together, it's hard work, But good work, and work you deserve to do.
Welcome back!! So pleased you have prioritized your mental health. It is so important!! You have been a great asset to me in my quilting journey the last five years. I am so glad to see you back and looking rested. Everyone has to take a break now and then. As I had said before, we will wait for you. You and family come first. It was so encouraging to see a video from you today and I really appreciate your honesty about mental health and seeking help because it will encourage others on their journey and I think we all need to remember that we are not alone and we all struggle and we can work on things and come out stronger in the end. I can't wait to see your new videos and you look great!
So glad to see that spark back in your eye! God bless you for being real. Looking forward to seeing your new book and you are right, I have lots of panels too! 😊❤
