169g is not that low. Try discs with at least a 10 gram separation to see difference in weight. Compare discs in the same plastics. Different plastics can also be more or less stable. In general the more premium/ durable the more stable the disc is especially as time/use goes on.
For slower arms (mine) DGA Vortex is very flippy (-3 turn) with a lot of glide and may not fight out (the fade doesn't really seem to factor.) A more workable disc and great for hyzer flips, with noticeable fight out, unless in a headwind, is the Neptune Marlin. It's -4 turn really isn't -4. It's more between -2 or -3. Also feels good to support a smaller brand.
160-167 is my best numbers. Weight doesn’t get talked about enough, at least not 4 years ago when I started buying discs like mad. Everything in the stores was close to max weight. Didn’t know any better back then.
I love 160ish for distance drivers and 167ish for fairway. Lighter discs, for me, the top plate feel is softer/thinner. I'm not a fan of stiff discs. Max weight for mids and putters though
They fly a lot like the Prodigy F5 (7/5/-2/1). I love throwing prodigy for that slot. When throwing in the woods, you're bound to lose a few discs. F5's are cheap as heck, so they're replaceable
I almost think it’s the opposite, because light weight is affected by wind more. On the course in the woods you can fully take advantage of the light discs without the wind.
I like the Mint Jackalope
Yes, that’s a good one too.
Yea, I second that, Jackalope. And I've been digg'n the Flex Sublime for plastic.

👍
I got the Ethos about a month ago... love how it feels in my hand, and the flight is sweet.
Yes, nice and flippy.

Nice! Thanks for the info.
I have that same yellow one coming in the mail, this made me excited for it. I have a maine state soft and its a bit too flippy
I really dig that 172g Yellow one. So good out of the box.
trying to decide between clash disc soda and innova IT; Love both of them, haven't tried the nuance yet.
I haven’t tried either of the Soda or IT yet. This Aura Nuance is legit though. Great in the woods.

True. It does make a difference.
My 7 speed hyzer flip disc is a DD Maverick all day long
Heck yeah! Love the maverick.
The competitions don't have any merit but I still love watching them, haha.
It’s a non-sanctioned competition, but I will keep that in mind for the more official competitions.

Love it.
So IMHO in higher altitude, it definitely makes a difference. Been dying to try one if these
You might want to try the Plume Mantra that’s dropping on Black Friday. That might work pretty good at high elevation.
@PartTimeDiscGolf I absolutely plan to! I have a 167 Ethos Mantra and always wanted to try lower weights
I throw 150-160 n it’s awesome
That’s great. A lot of good benefits with throwing lighter weights.

Nice! Especially now. I saw Prodigy marked down their discs a ton recently.
Light weight is great in the field but not so much on the course... imo
