Yikes Mike! Along with awning problems, having problems with our slide is one of my biggest fears. Sorry this happened to you and Jen. Glad you weren't camping when this happened and that you caught it before the cable actually broke completely. It pays to inspect our rigs often. Thank you for sharing your dilemma.

Thanks Mike, very informative. It was one thing I have been concerned about with our fifth wheel.

Found my cable slide fraying on my 2023 Keystone Carbon 338. It is the accuslide system on my main large slide. It was a bear to get replaced and to get all the cables tensioned properly but finally got it done. I had to drill new holes and adjust the standoff bracket. Keystone really needs to step up quality on cable slide installs. I bought an extra cable replacement kit to carry with me.

Interesting video. I no longer have a cable slide. Futzed with the one in my previous camper and pretty sure I didn't get it right. They are a pain. I can see why they would use one in the bedroom due to space limitations. Glad I have the frame mounted screw type now. Keep it lubed and all good. Thanks for the information.

Glad everything worked out with the BAL Exact Slide and good to see the screw drive slide on the other side. Was afraid it was BAL's Accuslide that your technician also referenced. On the same day your video posted, had just watched another UA-camr, Rigor RV Repair, also posting today a review of the Montana (different model - two slides) and slides was a hot button and this reviewed Montana had both BAL slide systems with a definite preference for the Exact system (primary problem the cable slack) which is the system BAL apparently developed after major problems with the Accu system.

Still glad Liz Amazing is out there for terrible problems. Companies are finally responding.

Thanks for sharing! One of the things I would, definitely, not try to fix myself and hire a tech instead..... 😜

We have the same rig and are Noticing the same problem So took it back to the dealer and the dealer said there was no problem with the slide meaning No adjustment, but the slide when it came in was hitting the mouling, closest to the dresser, window. There is a problem. The slide is not adjusted correctly ,it needs adjustment. Good video folks,do your Research .

Dealers don't want to deal with it 🙂. Clearly, when it's misaligned, it's a manufacturing issue. Thank goodness for my tech, who correctly adjusted the bracket.

I keep hearing folks having slide problems sooner or later. I purposely got a slideless RV to avoid this.

Why the mobile tec?you are under warranty, why did you not bring it back to the dealer and let us know how good your dealer is

It’s a shame to have a slide failure at seven months and that it was due to poor workmanship on the manufacturer’s part. But I guess it’s what’s expected and accepted from the RV manufacturers these days. Thankfully not all brands choose the cheapest options in their builds. 👍🏼😎

Your Montana was probably just jealous of the recent class B(s) you have been using.

I would have thought that would it still be under factory warranty only being 7 months old?

    • @RVLifestyle
      @RVLifestyle  2 місяці тому

Yes, it is. But getting into a dealership for timely repairs or driving it back to the factory for repairs is easier said than done. It's just easier to call a mobile tech than deal with the hassle.

Wow, as long as you guys been Rving and you bought camper with a cable slide? They are the worst design on the market.

The benefit of a cable slide a lot of times is it won’t leave you stranded like the In Wall Slide outs (aka Schwintek) when 1 thing fails on a schwintek it leaves you completely stranded and trying to manually push in a schwintek can be a nightmare.
Cable slides as long as they are adjusted correctly and the brackets are good a lot of times don’t fail near as often as schwintek setups.
      Just my opinion though.

@@jonyork-ph5xo Yes. Cable slides are just fine. Almost all bedroom slides are a cable slide.
