pod are very smart and usefull for a modern bomber but why they are never used in a real allocated places inside the cells to avoid all aerodymanics impacts ?

@@MistrFoxman technically these type of aircrafts avoid dog fights. They shoot stuff from distance if I am not mistaken.
They are, on fighters anyways; you have to realize how much newer these pods are than any mainstream aircraft. F16, F18, F15, F22 even...all of them predate the technology in these pods buy quite a bit. On newer fighters, they are built in. The F35 has the equivalent of a SNIPER pod carried internally. Most Russian fighters have IRST now that is better than the old lantirn system by quite a bit, and thats built in to their planes
Radar goes inside, optoelectronics go outside. The optics and lasers must be outside, below, and to the front. Some of them have air scoops - because they're full of MILSPEC electronics - which you should interpret as being larger, older, and power hungry. If not a stealth platform internal placement makes no sense - just moving a hot thing inside the airframe where it has to be kept cool. The other issue is integration time - an external pod with a defined interface is easy. How much information do you think the F-35 team had about the stuff they integrated? Share the same with one of the edgy pod users and we'd get another situation like F-14s and Iran.
