The 670 km Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway project maintained by NHAI is an under construction 4-lane access-controlled road.
It connects from Bahadurgarh border near Delhi with Katra in J&K via Haryana and Punjab.
Phase 1 involves the construction of a 397.7 km greenfield expressway between Delhi-Ludhiana-Gurdaspur and a 99 km spur connecting between Nakodar and Amritsar.
It is a combination of Greenfield and Brownfield expressway which passes through Haryana, Punjab, and J&K. It starts from Kundli Manesar Palwal (KMP) Expressway near Jasaur Kheri village in Jhajjar district.
The NHAI has divided the construction work of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway into 2 phases with a total of 21 construction packages.
This video is covered some parts of construction updates of Phase 1 Package 1 from KMP to Rukhi Pana village [Sonipat], Total distance is 34Km under constructed by KCC Buildcon.
The Phase-1 of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway consists of two sections, namely Delhi-Nakodar-Gurdaspur and Nakodar-Amritsar.
The Phase-2 consists of Gurdaspur-Katra section. Following is the alignment agreed by the Governments of Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir with the NHAI.
This 670 km Greenfield expressway Delhi-Amritsar-Katra is being built at a cost of Rs 40,000 crore. After completion of this expressway, one can reach Amritsar from Delhi in 4 hours and Katra from Delhi in 6 hours.
The Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway will pass through Jhajjar, Rohtak, Sonipat, Jind, Karnal & Kaithal districts of Haryana State, and through Patiala, Sangrur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Amritsar & Gurdaspur districts of Punjab State.
The top speed allowed on the expressway will be 120 km per hour.
