- Dinah Shore salutes Bob Hope along with co-stars Rosemary Clooney, Jane Russell, Lucille Ball, Rhonda Fleming, and Dorothy Lamour, in this 1977 TV show.
This is the reason I do not even turn the television on anymore. Back in the day, we had talent!
Stop talking dope
There is more talent on that stage than all of Hollywood today, they don't make them like that anymore, true LEGENDS all.
I'm a big Bob Hope fan. All of his leading ladies are lovely. But the one I'm most delighted to see is Rhonda Fleming. I recall her from the Lustre Cream shampoo commercials. I was just a kid, but I thought she was the most beautiful lady in Hollywood. Thanks for the memory.
Rhonda Fleming was smoking hot. She was the ideal woman for Technicolor.
This is an example of what Gorgeous ,Beautiful ,Class ,Superb Talent, Genuine laughter is. AWESOME stuff. I do not watch TV or listen to music today. Now they are pure vulgar no talent foul mouth garbage. Thank goodness for Mr. Eichler + UA-cam.
Rhonda Fleming died a few days ago, so now they're all gone. Thank goodness for the magic of fillm!
Wow, Rhonda Fleming, what a beauty!!!
THIS IS AWESOME---thank you so much,
Jane Russel is great and with a very engaging voice.
Shes GORGEOUS
Jane Russel had a great rack...
@@zapkvr Yes ! Stunning !!
Allan! Thank you fir posting this great show. What fun remembering these great stars.
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
Fantastic interview of a group of true superstars.
From another Aussie, in the early 1980s The Mike Walsh show had two whole shows with various hollywood stars of the golden era. I was late for a maths exam as it was hard to stop watching. I hope there is someone who has a copy.
Wise people sharing wonderful memories.
By my reckoning Bob was just 74 when this program aired. Amazingly he would live to the ripe old age of 100. He died in 2003.
It's great to hear him when he is not reading off cue cards. It's obvious he still had his wits about him at this time.
His wife, Delores Hope, lived to 105!
Bob looks 50. Amazing.
@@margerykirner5604 You have to remember that people "in the business" knew all about looking their best, even on their worst days. My brother is in broadcast news (on camera job) and even in his business they use products to look younger, fresher, etc.
Only the lovely Dinah could navigate through these murky conversations & pull it all together with that unbelievable Poise, voice and charm like no other. Her sincerity and talent made her TV talk show iconic. Old Hollywood couldn't wait to be an honored guest on her show cuz she always treated them with the dignity & the respect they deserved.
Was so good to see them all together. .. was alot of funny moments.. poor Delores , had to put up with so much from him..
"Rapid Robert."
"As a lover, Bob really tickled me."
miss you Dinah
Oh me as well!!!
Back when there was class in Hollywood
Star power for real.
Those ladies had Bob squirming in his seat!
Alan, you're better than the Museum of Broadcasting.
Dinah's voice is lovely....
Dinah was so beautiful....Miss you girl!
Dinah Shore was what great singing was all about. Wow!
Dinah was the real deal! She was kind, sweet, and genuine.!
She was great in Aaron Slick from Punkin Crick
@@ericdreizen1463 her variety show in the 70s stank
@@zapkvr Her band however, did NOT.

LOVE!!!!...Ty so much...
My Brother & I Were In The Audience 😎
that is so cool!
Not a Hope fan, but those ladies are class
Stars! Wow! Epic! Dope!
Ms. Ball: Don't let Anita Bryant hear that. (Brilliant!!! Thank you, Lucy!)
Bryant was a hypocrite and a fool.
No lie there. Lucy’s jab was beautiful!
great show
This show showcases the best aspect of Hope's humor: his self-deprecation. If you look at the comedies he did around 1940, where he plays the loveable coward, you'll see where Woody Allen got the inspiration for the nebbish character he played in his early comedic films.
When daytime televison wasn't all talk by idiots but was talk and entertaining.
If you want to see the most beautiful gal rent "Till the Clouds Come in" and you will see Dinah Shore looking beautiful. She looks like she has a 17" waist. A real live doll.
LOVE BOB HOPE!!!
Dinah has the best piano player!
Lol, great find!
I like the ladies, Bob Hope is another story. I went to see his show when I was in Korea, if we didn't laugh at his jokes he would make faces at us. He was so bitter towards us, all that footage had to be cut from the program they showed on TV. At one point we actually boo'd him...never cared for him after that!
ron benoit omg certainly NOT what we heard here in America. That's awful.
We were shocked as well! He would get this sneer on his face and look at us like we were dirt. Maybe he was having a bad day, who knows....and I really don't care. Most likely all his good deeds were for money, power, or whatever floated his boat!
Such a narcissistic man...
He would always sneer and do a slow-burn when a joke bombed; it was one of his trade marks; but I'm not doubting you may have seen him on a bad day.
@@ronbenoit5237 Basically. That's what people like Mamie Van Doren have intimated.
Lucy was something else! Lol!
Gave a lot of pleasure to a lot of people for a long time. One of the best. Didn't know him personally so l can't comment on his personal life.
Lucy and Jack Benny were Bob's friends so he must have had some good qualities.
Brilliant!
I love how Lucy appreciates a great ribbing.
Yes Chaplin was married to Goddard for 6 years. She was his 3rd wife.
Lucille Ball got the best applause even better than Bob Hope.
Dinah best hostess
Miss you dinah. Bob knew he was gonna get roasted
Funny world of Lucy
Lucille and Rosemary were neighbors on Roxbury Drive.
Not sure Lucy was too happy about sharing the stage with another redhead; especially one as beautiful as Rhonda Fleming.
Ho. Ly. Shit. This is such an important snapshot of the zeitgeist. The gay and lesbian subtext, cthe Hollywood history, the fashions hunnnny. All of it
Antipaanticipazione di terra amara
Nobody else catching the casting couch jokes???
Uh ya
Btw, where is Ethel Merman? She should’ve been on here too
Jane had big assets. I remember her playing Jessica Rabbit in Who framed Roger Rabbit
Jane he's either drunk or just can't be bothered listening to this
lucy alwys figeting around with her clothes....odd
James seems like she couldn't be bothered or maybe she was just drunk
😂👏👏👏👏
I'm guessing Norman Mcleod was gay...:/ Aww.
Who is the announcer
Lucy is one year younger than Dinah. Smoking......
Dina is 5 years younger than Lucy but looks like 20 years younger
Today, it’s a race to see which freak show they put on first!! So sad!!!! Look at what’s happening with country music! It’s nothing but a half clothed, freak show!!!
@54:23 some one Came In the wings!!! who ???
Dinah was the most peculiar interviewer, never got her style....(and whoo did her clothes? billie jean king?
I think she does a great job. Southern charm low key
@@johnlorenzen4633Wonderful comment; wonderful Dinah.
I grew up in the South, and Dinah really really resonated with us because of her charm and her ability to approach her guests with a real-life sensibility, rather than a kind of fake Hollywood interview style.
She was a real lady, a real, honest person…and a damn fine interviewer.
Thank you for your kind & insightful comment.
We miss you so much, Dinah.
Funny as a road accident
I think Bob Hope got too much of an ass kissing. I never thought he was that great, just an average actor. And I never thought ihe was that funny
