Several parks cater to the general public and family audiences. Dollywood especially, so to them, this is a slam dunk. Parks don't always cater to enthusiasts or extreme thrills.

It’s clear that the park has a large audience of families, so I get why their newest investments have appealed to that audience. I definitely am not surprised that they are doing another family launch coaster.

A better question to ask, rather than if guests will differentiate between BBM and Firechaser, is if they would care. Pretty sure they wouldn't.

I don't think they said it was the most expensive investment... they said biggest investment, as in size.

Average guests don’t care if it differentiates from fire chaser express. They just see another coaster. Idk why enthusiasts over think everything.

I think a family coaster was the right move, but it feels like, at least from the pov, there’s very few “elements” or hills and minimal theming besides a few spots. To me it’s almost inferior to firechaser express in design but it still seems close enough to it that they’re marketed at the same audience. Idk, I’ll be interested to see how it develops

I'd expect the theming to be different from the animation. I think the animation was to show the layout. There is no way the steel and track installation is >$20m. Vekoma for example built Abyssus for $11m and that was >4000ft, has multiple LSM launches, and on top of that is also 120ft+. Sure there is some inflation on steel, but thats probably like 20-30%, not more than double the price. There has to be something we are missing, and my guess is theming.

I have mixed feelings too, and I probably won't go back until they have a worthwhile reason for enthusiasts. Hope you keep posting vids more!

It looks fine but I don't understand how it's Dollywood's most expensive coaster yet, even with a B&M wing as well as a ground up RMC that basically got RMC'd. Also it's funny how SeaWorld San Diego is basically doing the same thing by installing a second launch coaster.

It’s probably going to have some pretty solid theming and it’s a very long ride.

I'd be interested in knowing how much just the coaster costed. It could be the terrain, the theming, and enhancements to the whole surrounding area that they are packaging into that cost. Bc Vekoma isn't that expensive....mind you it did need to be shipped so factor that in but STILL. Little confused by that statement as well. Might be alot of theming they aren't showing or something??

Inflation + Increased Steel Prices + Theming. That’s why it’s going to be so expensive

Dollywood audience is more towards families, I just wish they did Motorbike type coaster to at-least make it a little different, but honestly I think this is a good story telling ride, and a great addition in the family section.

I think It would have been better if it was either more trilling or less thrilling; being either a middle ground between their existing family and thrill coasters or between their family coasters and their kiddie coaster.

Hi! If possible, sometime in the next ten years could you please come to Australia? Thank you! Also, if you decide to come, make sure to buy a GoPro head mount or a wrist mount or a chest mount if you don't already own them because there are some AWESOME water parks over here and some of them let you film on the slides!

Remember , this isn't SFMM, or CP. so they don't need to build giant coasters all the time to attract the thrillseekers. Dollywood isn't one of those type of parks.

I think the family launch was already taken for the park. I would’ve liked to see some mini hyper version that’s like 60 feet and has little bunny hills and offers kids something different from the firechaser express and dragonflier experiences. Regardless, I don’t think it’s a bad Choice, I just think it wasn’t the number one best for what they need for kids

  • @mattr3922

People had their expectations waaayyyyyyyy toooo high for this. It was announced as a family coaster, in a family (could argue kids) area of the park. I get that they had fun with the teasers, but all parks with money do. They aren't going to put a hyper or giga in a family section of the park it just doesn't make sense. They still have massive expansion plans in the future so maybe down the line a thrill coaster will come, but people are getting unbelievably out of line for complaining about a new gen Vekoma launcher that is heavily themed when all people have been doing is begging Vekoma to build here lol. PEOPLE NEED TO BE MORE POSITIVE. These constant negatives are soul sucking/childish.
(Insert *but we wanted new gen vekoma THRILL coaster complaints* here)
