- Basically the runaway sequence but with Thomas music and me being bored as hell and rewatching the trailer of the original documentary gave me the idea. This video was a sound design test I wanted to try mainly with the brake sfx. I'm also planning on using this video to promote the channel and since May 12th is the anniversary anyway, what the heck.

I love how at 2:00 you can see the train swaying showing that the train nor the line were able to take going speeds like that, also may the people who died in this accident 35 years ago rest peacefully.
Rest In Peace to the two SP Crew Members, two children, two other residents, Southern Pacific 8278, Southern Pacific 7551, Southern Pacific 7549, and Southern Pacific 9340 (Bonus: Rest In Peace to Southern Pacific 8317 back 11 years ago in 2013).
SD45R no. 7443 is now MRS Logistica number 5313-1 although that engine needs to be rescued with a historical significance in the future.
However a memorial and maybe even if they could built a museum memorial by the place if they was room their to honor Train 7551 East and its fallen two crew members and the residents then 7443 could be displayed in the museum to pay respect to the victims as a memorial but that could be in in years as 7443 would take a lot of costs repatriation from Brazil apparently.
@@colbyjames7205 Exactly. Southern Pacific 7443 is now the only one of the two surviving locomotives of 7551 East that is still around to this day.
One of the worst railroad tragedies in American history. Even worse, it inadvertently led to a excavator cleaning up the mess to damage a gas pipeline that burst two weeks later, causing a massive blaze. The city later passed an ordinance to forbid people from having houses by that curve again. On the sound test and use of the runaway theme, good job.

They Actually Went Over 100+, The Speedometer Was Showing 90mph Because It Couldn't Detect Its Actual Speed, 90mph Was The Locomotives Top Speed, The train Catapulted Off Duffy Street Curve At Exactly 110 mph.

I watched footage of Cajon Pass before. I have no idea how that train managed to stay on the rails at those speeds, especially around the turns. With the weight of the train and the speed, I would think the train would have tipped over long before it reached Duffy Street. Or the rails would deform from the amount of force on them.
So many questions. I can't wait to see the full documentary.

I love this version of the runaway theme, not to mention the sounds. Holy, you could just feel the train accelerate as the situation gets more worse.
The sounds in question was one of the main reasons for the upload. Trying to get more realistic sounds and feels of brakes of trains at high speed.

7:36 am, 6 locomotives and 69 cars derailed while they hit the sharp curve at 105 miles per hour.

A little bit of overreliance on the the TTTE brakes sound effect, otherwise really good!
Yes, the brake sfx from TTTE has been overused, why not use the brake sfx from atomic train(1999)?

Also, can you be interested of doing the 2021 Henan flood disaster that involves a subway train. The third anniversary is coming up.
A good idea for a future video would be to talk about the San Antonio railway children. While there are different accounts on what happened, the basis is pretty much the same: One night in San Antonio, in the 30's or 40's, a school bus full of children stalled on the tracks. A train then came and smashed into the bus killing every single child. Some say the number was as a high as more than 45. There's an urban legend saying that if you stop your car on the exact where the crash occurred and leave it in neutral, the ghosts of the children will push your vehicle across the tracks. Like I said, the exact details vary, but it's an interesting story regardless

Why couldn’t they put the train in reverse after it was off to the races?
That'd have 0 effect. The weight of the train was too great. The dynamics were the only thing barely holding the train, once they dumped the emergency brakes it sealed their fate. All reverse would of done is burn out the wheels and traction motors. The crew of the Federal Express tried that when they ran away in 1953 and it also did nothing but carry them on into Union station. Steel on Steel man

I am surprised more grades are mot required to have Salida Grade run away tracks!
The shortline I work at has a grade that nearly rivals Saluda at 4% and it too lacks a runaway track however the grade does bowl out at spots.

Maybe you can remaster the other incidents that happened at the same location, Cajon pass, 1994 and 1996? If you think the narration is horrible and there is a lot of un-useful information, you can remaster it.

It's just an opinion, I know that not everyone has to agree with it but... Why do you always use some sort of variation of the Thomas Runaway Theme? It makes the sequence feel too... Childish at some point, and it even feels like you're mocking it by playing it down with a theme song from a child's show, why not use something else?

There is no other song for this. What do you want him to use? And for one there’s no other music that can replace the runaway theme. And also other songs make it sound boring only the runaway theme could please Rail Road fans. Also do you want him to play some song from the unstoppable sequence? Or some movie that involves a runaway train? No your acting like the trains were sentient and had feelings. This comment feels like your mocking rail roads and TTE fans to us.

Blender would melt my computer's hard drive and graphics card. The RAM can take it however my computer isn't powerful enough for a manned mission to mars.
