- I went on a random adventure in Mumbai in search of the famous cheese paratha, luckily i didn't have to go far before I found it. I had my first kingfisher beer accompanied by a glorious cheese naan and then on my way back I stumbled across the notorious betle nut pan, it give syou a burst of energy. Many people chew betel nut for the energy boost it produces. This is likely due to the nut's natural alkaloids, which release adrenaline. It may also result in feelings of euphoria and well-being.

There is something called "Sweet beetle nut" (Meetha paan) without tobacco. Sweetness is induced by using Gulkand (made by drying the rose flower petals).
This type of paan is eaten by majority of people here and it tastes amazingly good.
Pls try this next time after your meal and it won't give you a high in your head but a refreshing mouth and good for digestion.

You should have tried sweet pan (Beatle nut). Its good for the first timer , especially after food. Also go in for kingfisher mild it tastes better than the kingfisher strong beer which you had.

It will be very hot.
If it gets uncomfortable, try visiting Himalayas in Northern India, it remains cold year long.
I would suggest you to visit Ladakh once, situated in Himalayas bordering Tibet.
Its a cold desert, its terrain is very similar to Tibet. And its very beautiful place.

Dhanyawad is in Hindi and also in many indian languages, mostly preferred by Indians. Shukriya in urdu preferred by urdu speaking population and todays times mostly used in Pakistan. When in India prefer Dhanyawad. When In Pakistan preferred shukriya. This is general observation and suggestion. Urdu is also Indian origin language but Most of the Indian population prefer dhanyawad over shukriya

Many indians from North of India have influence of Urdu on their Hindi language due to islamic conquests and rulers and due to Bollywood mostly controlled by urdu speaking.

If i had to compare that bar to an english equivalent then it's like similar to a local pub which you get back home in every town.
Mumbai has these kind of bars scattered through out the city, where folks come after work to hang out and drink, but then there are upscale breweries and pubs where it's more of a younger crowd.

Harry just an advice whenever having the kingfisher please have the premium and not the strong. And also the pan you get a sweet pan without tobacco so that’s what you should have had. Keep killing it with the India series.

Try sweet paan without betel nut, without tobacco. Try Belgaum chutney paan with or without betel nut. Only tobacco gives high so you can skip it.

The red colour after chewing the betel leaf together with betel nut etc - mainly it is because of the lime that is the white paste like thing, it becomes.
But lime is not nice n harmful. Since you had it for once only, but must be avoided.
Also the guy Manish asking for Dollar. Actually my feeling is he is a collector of foreign currencies n Actually intended to exchange it for rupees. Even for the Sri Lankan money he wanted to pay you the Rs 10 exchange rate.
Anyway your way of mingling with the locals n getting to know them is a good thing n I like it very much.
Mumbai next Kochi - I am a Mumbaikar my parents migrated from Kerala n now it is my third generation living in Mumbai. If you ask where you like best. Definitely I will say Mumbai the best place in the world, it is because the place is where I have lived all my life of 58 years
