- After a months long chase here's my translation of the 30 Secret Features chapter in the Biohazard 3 Official Guidebook (バイオハザード３ラストエスケープ公式ガイドブック。But what really blew me away was all the NEW Easter Eggs I kept running into! And one staff member's secret complaints about the food!

The opening "awful curry and rice" might be an inside joke of sorts at Capcom as their offices were close to an Indian curry restaurant called "Dhal's" which is where they got the name Dhalism for Street Fighter II.

12:24 A Scream From the Third Floor - That scream happens because that back alley and the newspaper office are both loaded as the same room. Reason being, if you trigger Nemesis' encounter at the newspaper office and jump out of the window, you land in that alleyway, with no loading animation triggered.
This is a really cool video, I picked up a lot of Japanese guide books the first time I went to Japan in 2012 and never got a chance to actually peruse them beyond the Enterbrain RE2 guide having the earliest known instance of a speedrun record. Thank you for making it!

And it'll be interesting to see what's in the Dino Crisis book, there's quite a few chapters to cover
Here are 3 secrets:
1. Return to trolley before getting all the items to see mikhail with the red barrel thats on its sideway
2. If you destroyed the red barrel a slightly different cutscene plays
3. You can run away before trying to help mikhail when ambushed by the same zombies but nothing changes no game over

I suspect that watching this video before bed made me have a dream about trying to solve a puzzle involving turning valves to control water level while being pursued by Nemesis. I have to thank you for letting me experience what it’s like to be a Resident Evil protagonist, even if just in my dreams 😂

Yup, that's the door you come out of when you first meet Carlos in the newspaper building and decide to jump out through the window when Nemesis finds you.

That the RE3 "remake" has close to none is enough proof the original is far superior.
The original RE3 offers so much replayability in comparison to the remake as well.

Facts
All the originals are superior because all the Remakes except RE1 are hacked up bits and pieces of the original. New 3D camera and aiming, yea who gives a fuck when the the game is missing half the levels, enemies and puzzle?

This week I found something interesting... I found all dialogs and voices from RE3 Nemesis and there is rail cannon voice and the computer sad VARNING fifteen seconds to rail cannon launch. I've played 100 times this game and I've never heard it in game.

@@raccooncitycinemaDogs also seem to react to running but not always, I think they have to see you running for 3 seconds or something like that to start attacking.
You can actually run up to a dog with a knife and kill them one by one as long as none of them ever pounce, they will walk slowly towards you.
Well damn, for the compass part it would have been useful to remove the compass and use the water pressure as a weapon to just pump nemesis full of led. The guide does say *use the streets to your advantage*

This is the most interesting resident evil 3 nemesis video I’ve ever seen. It even had some tips to help dodge nemesis but every time I try follow these tips, I get smacked lol.

I didn't either! 😂 That part was just on a random page so I had to go back later and add it in!
There one mini cutscene in town hall, where Jill aim at Carlos with weapon you currently have. So if you equip rocket launcher, she will slowly raise rocket launcher. It's probably mean, that if you unequip weapon, she should also use fighting stance, but I don't remember if I tried to do this or not.

@@raccooncitycinema no problem. Also I think 'stealth' thing, is not about sound, but more likely because you don't do full step. Feel like they cramped some bugs and flaws in that guide, presenting them as it's "Easter egg" as excuse. Something similar to M'aiq the Liar from TES series.

Man this has been my absolutely favorite video game since I was a child in 1999. I hate how they made this remake compared to 2 which I absolutely love as well since 98 but damn man they at least made that remake pretty damn great.

I love that little bit of storytelling in the clock tower! One thing RE3 really excelled at was the environmental storytelling

Thanks for showing this game some love. For me, this was the best RE game I played from the classic ones. The biggest selling point for me was the powerful stalking enemy, the fact that you get to explore more of the city, and the improved control, specifically the dodge attacks from Jill, and those event choices.

And whereas In Code Veronica, I bought it that many times for the cutscenes, and me trying to figure out what thy were trying to do, in RE3, I played it many times due to the gameplay. It was always fun to see how many ways and with what weapons you can take down Nemesis The crafting ammo, extra weapons, extra costumes, all made the replay value that much better.

I always found strange that costume for Leon .
I remember seeing the bad curry note at the beginning of the game but had no idea it was about curry as well the note does disappear when you return to that spot after the police station.
I'm thinking about getting the Japanese strategy guide to see if there is information about the MON MON Hotdog stand which is a mystery because you see posters of it almost everywhere in the downtown area and you can find the MON MON Hotdog stand in the back alley before heading to the save room with the rusty crank as well you can find a billboard of it in RE2 before heading to the bus at the beginning.
Well there's nothing about the signs or names in the guidebook, those were all my discoveries, but yeah MON MON is probably a developer nickname or pseudonym. I think it's actually related to a sign on the gas station (on or near the shutter) that says MONS.
I wonder if it's from the old days when Japanese developers didn't put their real names in the credits, but I looked through a bunch of old Capcom game credits and couldn't find anyone. Sadly, MON MON escaped me this time
@@raccooncitycinema I think it's more of a Easter egg thing instead of a developer thing which I wouldn't be surprised one of the developers likes hotdogs and it being Easter egg thing it does make sense why the HOTDOGGER is in the remake where that feels like a Easter egg for MON MON Hotdog stand.
It's just the biggest mystery about it's existence in the whole series which even RE 1.5 has more detailed information about it and that game is a mystery too.
The riding suit really reminds me of the riding suit worn by the helmet people in Dino Crisis 2, more specifically Dylan's daughters, Paula, considering it's feminine, where as the other two helmet people we see are males with a male version.
I have all classic RE guidebook bought overseas but in Japanese I couldn't understand any XD

I absolutely love all these name cameos, because as a kid of the 90s growing up in the west; myself (like many RE fans of the time) tended to give this weird graffiti so much more meaning and purpose than what was actually warranted. To us in the West, these signs and tags were strange esoteric messages for us to figure out. If only we knew how normal it is in Japan for game developers to use psuedonyms and nicknames. (Metal Slug's credits for anyone as a kid was just bonkers, as well as the original Castlevania of course).
In regards to costumes, I can't see a mini skirt police officer without thinking of the anime You're Under Arrest!
The epilogue art of Claire is some of my favourite Resident Evil art ever. I really miss when they used illustration and simple text. It evokes so much more mystery than a cut scene.
I also love how these guide books talk about glitches as if they are secrets, it makes the guide seem very unofficial.

I love the names too, and I'm really proud to have found so many that went unnoticed all these years. It's frustrating cuz I know there's more I missed, like Mon Mon hot dogs is probably one of those old pseudonyms (and probably related to "MONS" written on the shutter of the gas station). But without insider access I can't know. I did browse old Capcom games looking for hints but nothing.
Haha yeah for sure, they have a good sense of humor in these books. I think they were padding to reach a round number haha.
I would love to do other videos some day, I'd prefer to do less discussed games. I'd never thought of Klonoa 2 before but I'll consider it (I don't have the game but it's tempting when on sale). I'm actually planning a surprise Secrets of the Guidebook for a cult PS2 game few people know exists. But I just need the time to do it.

Well the guidebook doesn't have any Easter Eggs in it actually, those were mostly my discoveries, and I couldn't find anything about that face beyond what has already been discussed unfortunately, so I didn't think it was necessary

😂 I did finally get kinda good at it, only after spending months with this game
The dodge is simple but its awkward if you don't know the requirements. You HAVE to be aiming your weapon to dodge, that's the weird part that makes it way more confusing than it needs to be for new players.
So you hold R1 (assuming PS1) to aim, then wait for an attack and press X with the right timing to dodge. The timing is strict but you can honestly mash the X button and accidentally get a dodge more often than you'd think.
Fun fact "Miho" sounds like "Mijo" which means son in Spanish.

Yeah they did. What struck me was how good the rng was. Each playthrough felt varied with all the different enemy spawns
Still sad re3 remake was so bad
All the remakes except the Gamecube RE1 are just trash. Who gives a shit about the new 3D camera and movement when half the gameplay, fun sequences, levels, enemies are just taken away?

Dude, It's a joke and call back to my RE2 video. Also a meta commentary on the reused assets of RE3 from RE2. Did you not watch until the end? Because if I were worried about demonization why would I STILL include the content??? I would have had to cut it entirely.
