Kurt Angle very nearly could have ended up like so many wrestlers that have died young. He was taking up to 1900 pills a month at his worst. (He mentions this on his appearance on Cafe de Rene podcast) Lets be grateful above all else that Kurt is happy, sober and will always one of the all time greats. Oh it's true!

And as a medic I say that number is complete bullshit
1900 pills in 30 days means more than 60 pills every single day
I don t even need to know the exact drug
Even painkillers considered weak as fans or paracetamol at that dosage would kill a men in a matters of days
If we consider drugs from the oppiaceaum family it would kill you in less than 24 hours
Mix into that alcohol (and angle confirmed multiple times that he was a pretty heavy drinker in that period)
And not even an olimpic champion body can survive that
That 1900 is surely a hyperbole or a glaring exageration for dramatic purpose
That doesn’t mean angle was not in a very dark place and situation
And that he was running at high speed against a wall
His run with tna is remembered as perc angle for a reason

Honestly I think he would have died of acetaminophen poisoning before the perks killed him. That’s only 300 mg a day assuming it was 5mg. I know people as SAD AS IT SOUNDS. That take 900mg a day for the last few years and they function normally they just basically make Half a million dollars a year to support their habit and it’s sad but it’s not outrageous to see someone taking 300mg a day

I think that if you are a boss in a workplace where many of the people under your direct management ends up dead, addicted to drug, alchol abusers you have to start wondering if there is a problem in your workplace
And between draconian and unreasonable work schedules, people working with serious injuries to not stop their momentum and riscking losing their job by abusing alchol and painkillers or drugs to keep going you can have a strong case of disproving an image of the caring boss interested in the superstar wellbeing
Kurt angle said he sent death treaths to his boss while apparently under the influence and yet he seems to act only after Kurt angle showed up during a ceo meeting naked
I mean the first death message is already a glaring red flag of something really wrong
Yet he waited until a in person stunt to actually speak to kurt

Very glad that Kurt turned himself around before he became another tragic case of a wrestler dying young. WWE deserves a lot of the blame for his problems, his broken necks were a result of the pace they were forcing him to go at night after night whilst refusing him a part-time contract. Vince being booted out from the day-to-day management of things is the best thing that's happened to the industry in decades, now finally performers will be treated like humans and not cattle.

  • @vetwar2x445

Whats interesting is Vince said "Take 6 months... your job will be here for you when you are ready to come back". Kurt left... literally got on the phone with TNA and showed up to work with them almost immediately after his non compete was done (He was released in late August and showed up in TNA in late October) . So clearly he didn't need too much time off to recover. The actual reason why Kurt left has long been speculated to be because WWE was beginning to crack down in regards to their drug policy (he had a painkiller addiction) and he felt overworked (TNA I think was offering something with less days but also less money albeit he was the highest paid guy there).
This has two long term effects. For Kurt's WWE legacy will never be measured up compared to his cohorts like Austin, Rock, Orton, Cena, Taker etc.... because he chose to leave. IF he had stayed we'd probably consider him a top 5-6 all timer in WWE history assuming he had taken the 6 months off and come back healthy and painkiller addiction free. For Vince you could argue that although he maintained a good relationship with Kurt he also was less generous with other wrestlers in the immediate aftermath as Angle essentially angled for his release citing his physical and mental health but then signed almost immediately with the competition. He probably only issued it because he was worried Angle would end up like Guerrero. Since Vince got embarassed due to the TNA signing he probably was then less sympathic to a grieving ticking time bomb like Benoit who ultimately nearly killed the business less than a year later when the Benoit tragedy happened.

    • @gsdrums47
      @gsdrums47 Рік тому +3

Benoit was already in the middle of his '4 months off' period in 2006 when Kurt left. Benoit returned to WWE around the same time Kurt debuted in TNA. David Benoit revealed that WWE had offered Chris an Agent job and to retire in 2006, so Vince never put him under pressure to return to the ring, quite the contrary. It was Benoit's decision to sign an extension on his contract and get back to the ring full time, which only lasted 8 months until the tragedy happened.

He then started saying in shoot interviews that Vince fired him and how much the wwe sux blah blah
Another one is Daniel pruder, I remember in older interviews he was saying how he met pruder at the airport and pruder tells him "I'm in the main event tonight at the RR" but recent years he is said that pruder told somebody or one of the boys that.
